I LOVED Cookies!
From the moment we arrived I felt so relaxed and at peace. The staff are fabulous, always cheery and smiling and nothing is too much trouble. I loved the bar/restaurant area with a stunning view of the beach, the food was really really good and cheap, the cocktails are wonderful, even the music they play in the bar area is spot on! They have a dog, it looks a bit scabby but he is lovely and friendly.I just can't fault the place at all. The pool is lovely and just the right size, they have lots of loungers and these great bed like wooden chill out spaces too right by the pool/beach.
We stayed in the top floor sea view room 303. Large room with a kingsize bed/mosquito net, decent size bathroom, fridge, TV and a large balcony complete with hammock and an amazing view of the bay. Yes there are lots of steps to climb but its so worth it for the view and I just saw it as my daily exercise!
The resort is so peaceful and relaxing. The area has a few bars/restaurants but its not a place for partying. The beach was lovely and great for snorkelling too. We hired a scooter and explored the island and I am so glad we chose Haad Salad and especially Cookies.

Cookies was one of the highlights of our trip. Haad Salad is a gorgeous beach and we felt so lucky to stay at Cookies. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed and happy. Couples, backpackers, families, everyone was smiling and happy at Cookies.

We stayed in Seaview Bungalow #9. The perfect walk up the hill to get a little exercise after eating some of Cookies delicious food. We loved our porch hammock and lovely view. Everyone at Cookies cares- from the personal greeting to the fantastic food and staff- it was just amazing. Try the garlic pepper shrimp, Pad Thai, and Vegetable Spring Rolls- we wish we could go back right now!

My decision to choose this resort was based on its Trip Advisor rating, so I thought it important to provide feedback of our experience. This was the last place we stayed in Thailand in a three week trip and, unfourtunately, it was the poorest of the four places we visited. I'd originally made a booking through the Booking.com website but on arrival I wanted to check the alternative rooms available. The manager there was very evasive to this enquiry and told me that all the other rooms were more expensive than the one I'd requested - something I found hard to believe. Regardless, I went with the original reservation. The room itself was spacious and featured an excellent shower (one of the best we experienced). Unfortunately, however, the room was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned thoroughly in some time. The sheets were stained and there were cobwebs. I got the impression that they perhaps were not as concerned with this in low season. Worst of all was that the room was not visited by a cleaner at all during our three night stay. The food at the restaurant was poor. I didn't mind so much that they were operating on a much smaller low season menu, but the choices were not very appetising. To its credit, the resort enjoys excellent views over the beach. Annoyingly, on our final night, there was a power cut which killed electricty to most of the resort for the majority of the night. Not necessarily the resort's fault, but I was amongst several guests pacing around the resort in the early hours of the morning, looking for staff (of which there were none on duty) or fuse boxes, so we could try and address the problem. Not a life and death matter, of course, but a number of us speculated what would have happened had there been a fire or other more serious matter - we had no way of contacting any staff to request assistance. Cookies Salad is not the worst resort in the world, but our overall experience was very disappointing. There were a number of families staying there and the staff seemed very good with kids, but it seemed that their customer service was restricted to cooing at babies.

Room Tip: I'd avoid booking online in low season.

very friendly staff, very helpful. open air restaurant with magical view of the bay, so beautiful and romantic. wifi in restaurant area( sometimes no connection) most rooms, cottages are on steep hill but with an amazing vieuw. rooms are light and white colored bed linen. panoramic cottage is a rough climb in the heat but has an amazing view, even when lying in bed.
when the tide is low you can walk from Cookies to massage salons and other bars and restaurants on the beach. be alert during high tide that after 9 pm the beach will be fludded and you can't get back walking over the beach.
you can book beautiful excursions and snorkelling tours via owner Aom at the reception.
right down at the (small) pool area there is a couple that give massages during the day.
most rooms have flat screen TV and dvd player (mine was not working) at the bar you can borrow dvd's.
breakfast is included and consist of a fruitplatter, juice, tea or coffee and your choice of eggs with toast. more than enough for me. there is also a breakfast menu that you can order a la carte. furthermore the restaurant serves Thai food and als Western dished and also has a cocktail menu which is quite good.

PS: on the other side of the (small) bay, you can walk from Cookies along the beach there are a couple of small shops.
I had a wonderful stay..it felt like paradise!

Room Tip: panoramic cottage with amazing view!

We spent a week in Cookies Salad Resort and I should say that we had a really relaxing time there. We haven't booked a room in advance and searched for the room using Internet in a travel agency near the pier. It's a great place if you want to rest in a friendly, quiet atmosphere. We had a spacious room in a seaview bungalow with a hammock, the room were clean as well as bedlinen. The staff were helpful and we could ask any question about traveling across the island. We ate mostly in a resort as there are very few eating places around Haad Salad. There are also yoga classes but we haven't had enough time for that due to several tours around the island.
Unfortunately we couldn't swim in a sea because of low water, but it wasn't a problem as we rented a motorbike and went to other beaches for swimming.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days over the New Year holiday. We stayed in the Wooden Panoramic Cottage & loved everything about the room. It was incredibly comfortable, clean and we slept great every night! The only thing that we didn't care for was the food at the restaurant. The nice thing is that there are several other good restaurants along the beach, so we ended up eating elsewhere every day. This resort is a bit older than some of the others along the beach, but the rooms are well kept and the staff are friendly. The pool is small and there's not a lot of lounge chairs for people to sit. It's true that you have to walk up the hill to get to your room, but if you're in decent shape it's not a problem. The hillside rooms are what makes the view so incredible!

We've booked this resort by internet, but they didn't prepare our room. They have many overbooking but a staff didn't explain anything. He has tried to let us use low category room. And he and their bos who is named Aom were angry when we said we didn't want to stay their room.
"OK, so we will stay 1 night in that hotel room and then move to the bungallow what we booked." we tried to find the solution. However, they said " you cannot stay our bungallow because we are full !" And "WE ARE VERY BUSY !!!"
So we had to move to the other resort with our little son. We couldn't understand many people recommend and give high rated for this resort.
But We give 1 star for this resort because that staff introduced another resort for us and there were wonderful. It was not in Salad beach but there was so beautiful more than Salad beach
