I have been going to Koh Phangan since the early 80's but never been to this beach before. It is ideal for snorkeling as the coral reef is only 100 metres from the shore. It is so shallow that you almost walk that far. It is not overdeveloped and at the other end of the beach there is still a simple backpackers still place with the old classic huts on the beach. It just means there is a wide range of people staying on the beach which I found very attractive.

The resort is perfectly located at the end of the bay which offers wonderful views. The units further up the hill, away from the beach are up a very steep driveway. We were lucky enough to have a unit which had a very low position so we didn't have any vertical walking to get to the pool, restaurant or beach.

The pool is great and certainly a highlight of the resort. So lovely looking over the side of the pool and viewing the entire length of the bay. I would certainly recommend this accommodation. Your room is only serviced if you leave your key at reception in the morning.

I want to add that the village itself has nothing to offer. There is no community at all, just tourist shops and Pirate Diving. Although it is a beautiful beach, I do prefer a place that has some real local community, like Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach which has a proper community with school, monastery, authentic local street food etc.

Room tip: Ask for a room close to the beach and not up the hill

We spend 4 nights in this resort: the position is great on one of the most nice beaches in Phangan! Rooms are very large and well equipped (we had a cottage with direct access on the beach). Staff is very friendly and eager to help you for organizing any type of trip on the island! The resort is on a hill with steep path and roads (please consider this if you have any problems). Highly suggested

Wonderful place in a lovely bay. The resort is build on the hill side at the end of the bay so almost every cabin has a great view of the bay. Great pool on the beach line. The owners and crew are very friendly. Breakfast is OK. The WiFi is slow and no good signal in all cabins.

We arrived very early however we were allowed straight in to our room despite official check in time.
The room was amazing - a sea view bungalow. Very clean and spacious with great views overlooking the bay from the large balcony. The inclusive breakfast provided a variety of options which were all good.
Staff in both the reception and restaurant were very attentive and friendly. The place is generally very well maintained.
The pool, situated right on the beach, was fantastic.
There are lots of great bars and restaurants a short stroll away along the beach.
We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back in the future! Highly recommend this resort!!

Booked for 3 nights, but prolonged with another 2 nights. Would come back again, and here is why:
Besides from the lovely view that just fills your soul with Wonder for life, our days at Cookies were put at ease by a friendly staff that we become pretty good friends with. All staff had their own charming personality and some of them would make jokes and particularly play with the kids. Others were just polite and correct but always helpful.
They would always meet you with polite greetings (don’t expect all the staff to greet you, as some of them aren’t there to serve the guests, but to have other tasks to do) at the reception and the restaurant.

On our last day, we had to check out in time as our room was booked by other guests. But we were welcome to hang around the pool and the restaurant while waiting for our ferry to leave.

The reception staff also helped with booking of the excursions, taxi transfer and ferry booking. And from what I know, did not charge extra for that.

Before booking this place, be informed that this is located on a very steep hill side. If you have problems with knees or are in poor condition this might be a challenge. Other wise take the opportunity to see this time as a good excercise or book another place on a less steep location.
This is Thailand, so the drains do not always handle toilet paper flushed in the toilets, so you are not allowed to flush the paper.
And as you are in the tropics with all the pro and cons, do keep in mind that there are bugs and animals everywhere. So you’ll find small lizzards and ants in your room, which is part of staying with a stunning nature surroundings.

I liked the bathroom with a pretty modern concrete fusion with Thai teak style. And amazingly dry/ventilated too as the floor with dry within an hour and the towels dry over the night if hanging them after a shower.

The best part must be the private terrace with the hammock in which I fell asleep in at least twice during our 5 days stay.
The room was spotless cleaned everyday and they folllow a program with an environmental thinking.

Laundry service excellent. Sure you’ll pay 60 baht/kilo, BUT, they go all the way and fold your underwear to small cute packages which is the extra thing I like to pay for, and you don’t have to leave the property at all for this services.

Same with buying water. You pay only 25 baht for a big bottle and again don’t have to walk across the beach and carry around water. And it’s chilled and ready to drink.

Restaurant, loved it. After tried a couple of other top reviewed places with lower price, I didnt deem it was worthy walking away from Cookies to get almost the same menu. The food is excellent. Unless you have a huge family to feed, Cookies is worth staying at. And at low season, the other cheaper restaurants wanted an in advance order for fish and seafood, there were no such problems at Cookies. And the view from the restaurant terrace is just unbeatable.

If any down side would be the kitchen closes 21:30, but I believe this included all the restaurants as the gas is turned off?
Around 10 p.m the beach starts to get dark all over the place. But this contributes to a calm and peaceful beach.
