Had a fabulous time while I was here last May with my beach travellers group! Food, service, rooms and beach were great! Yoyo is a great guy! There is a lookout nearby- it is quite the hike but definitely worth it! Overall I had a great time and would return here in a heartbeat :)

Room Tip: The rooms further away from the beach are great! The ones on the beach (from what I had seen) are ol...

I can not stress enough how bad this place is. The good reviewers are either high or have been paid off.

The rooms are filthy, nothing works, the food is inedible, the staff are not interested, they do not stock cocktail drinks, the pool is filthy, the manager is an absolute joke.

I lasted three days and left. I was promised a refund but since returning home have received an email from the owner telling me I have no chance. Laughing it all off saying he doesn't need my custom no more.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague.

The only good thing: The staff tried their best to help us. Not the owner! They didn't charge us for the hoteltaxi to leave again.

First of all we couldn't reach the beach by boat because the sea was too rough, the locals knew but the taxitriver took us anyway up north just to take us back again and charged us twice. Back we had to wait 1 hour and got picked up by the hotelcar, got charged again. We booked 2 fan bungalows, but in that state they where, they shouldn't cost more than 150 bath. We tried to upgrade to a family room and pay a bit more, even though they had empty ones, the owner said we booked this two bungalows and we had to take them. The weather was really bad and dangerously high waves for our son, so we couldn't stay there and left again. No refund as they charged my card already. It's not their fault about the bad weather of course. But that the owner was more like take it or leave it, as we paid already. But we couldn't in the bamboo huts with this weather. The prices are quite high in the restaurant as there is no other option to go. We went back to the south of the island and the weather was instandly better. There we got for the same price a bungalow with aircon, tv and fridge. It's said that Bottle Beach is the most beautiful beach of the island, but a daytrip would be enought. There's a road in construction to  Bottle Beach as they want to built a little airport just next to it.

On paper Bottle beach 1 sounds fantastic, a cut off paradise to escape and unwind..."Float away to Paradise" they say, well unfortuantely this was not our experience.

Initially we thought wow, everything looked great, friendly staff, they got our room ready for us early, welcome drink etc, then the cracks started to appear. We had booked 5 nights over new year, our little bit of luxury, we booked a deluxe bungalow at over £100 per night, for Thailand, this is very expensive and we had high expectations.

They basically have you by the balls here, cut off means cut off. You have to eat their food, which if you can actually get someone to take your order, then goes to the wrong table or turns up cold. OR they dont actually have the ingredients in the first place.
you can't play pool as they don't have any change, you can't have a cocktail as they dont have the ingredients, yet no-one goes to get supplies the next day, they're basically uninterested in helping you....oh and you're stuck there so what are you going to do about it????

The internet was flakey, they make you pay for anything over an hour each free and it doesn't work, so they just take your money for nothing anyway.

The beach was filthy, literally bottle beach with the debris that had washed up and no-one to maintain it. The pool was also not very clean. Bird droppings that had been there so long, they had welded themselves into the chairs.

The taxis.... the only way of escape, come at limited times, no-one explains how to get back, your lucky if you can find someoen to bring you and they also dont tell you they are charging 400 bht per journey which is getting added on to your room without your knowledge. wouldnt be so bad if they didnt stop every 10 minutes to pick up and drop off shopping en route. On a positive note - The 45 minute jungle trek is actually quite fun.

Our "deluxe" bungalow had no hot water, was dirty, no working tv, half the lights weren't working plus more! I have spent a lot of time in Thailand over the years and expect a few quirks as part of the experience, but this was a catalogue of poor management and service.

The manager was recieving complaints by the minute, nice enough chap but hasn't got a clue when it comes to running a resort, he owes me a refund and I have heard nothing from them. Can't imagine they are too bothered, seemed to be the way, sorry but tough.

It was that bad we left early! as did our friends, not the relaxing new year break we had planned. stay somewhere else and you will get more for you money, visit the beach on a day trip, I'm sure its lovely when clean, but don't stay there. There are better places out there.

Who is Yoyo? Well, Yoyo is just one of the great people you will meet at Bottle Beach. Coming from the crazy Bangkok, Bottle Beach showed us why Thailand really is the land of smiles. Everybody here was great, always helping us in whatever we needed.

Now, for the bungalows. If you're city boys and girls, born and raised, like we were, you will be shocked by the same things. Big bugs in the beachfront bungalows, small lizards all across the other ones. You just have to get over it and enjoy the beach, the jungle and the perfect water.

The beachfront bungalows are dissapointing, but the newer ones in the back, 5 minutes away from the beach have minibars and great bathrooms, so maybe you want to go for those.

The food was really a surprise, I read some bad reviews, but we got some really nice dishes. We really liked the fresh-fish bbq.

So, don't even think about it. Choose bottle beach. For the friendly staff, for the wonderful private beach, for the beautiful place all around. Book it now! :)

P.S. It's a looooong way there from the ferry terminal, be wise and book a transfer in advance.

We stayed here for 7 days. 6 friends in an awesome place, great beach, good food, nice accommodation, ok prices, wonderful staff! Oah from the reception was very attentive, sweet and helpful, and Yoyo, the main waiter, oh... What a great friend! So funny, caring and sweet! They made our stay wonderful! We loved it there! We would for sure go back!

What a mess. It's well documented that is it a 'bit of a trek' to actually reach the resort which wouldn't be a problem, but they only run a taxi service at particular times and the costs are hidden from this.

Not sure where to start with the resort itself. The staff are all over the place and and nice as they are don't seem to have any direction. There is one waiter on service and if he gets your order correct or even to the right table, you will be lucky, should it arrive warm, extremely lucky.

They ran out of coins (for the pool table) they ran out of fish (at the bbq they held) they ran out of Gin (even though it is in most of there cocktails), they ran out of ingredients for cocktails. Now this was mentioned, you would think the manager might actually get some supplies the next day considering his guests are cut off from pretty much anywhere. Wishful thinking.

We paid for the 'deluxe' room. Double the price of the other rooms. Brilliant. Except here we have no hot water (oh there is a trick to get hot water, you need to switch everything on including the lights.... which didn't work) neither did the tv or the remote,e spend an hour one night with various staff coming in and out of the room trying different remotes only to be told that they would have to swap the tv..... the next day. There were cobwebs around the bath and chopped up hosepipes littered across our steps. The chairs were soiled with bird droppings as were the deck chairs around the pool.

As mentioned, we agreed to cut out losses and move after two nights and obviously brought this up with the Manager (don't get me started) who told us that we would need to contact Booking.com and that he would also let them know what had happened for a refund and gave us his email address. Well 3 weeks later and countless emails, we still do not have a reply.

I am not sure how a place with such good reviews could turn into this absolute circus overnight.

We stayed at the Orchid in Khao Lak soon after and if the Manager needs a few tips on how it should be run, I suggest he books himself into one of his taxi's, hops on a boat and see's how a resort should be.
