This is our second time to the Resort. Eighteen months ago we Booked for two nights and stayed a week. It was great. The staff was amazing. We dreamed getting back to visit again. This time - we celebrated our honeymoon.
We booked the last four nights of our honeymoon. We thought it would be cherry on the cake.
No cherry and no cake... Light years away it.

The place was so bad that we had to check out after 2 nights. We preferred to pay double and just leave.

Sub-standard place, shocking beach, terrible staff and bad service.
Really bad service.
The service is really, really bad.

Check in - We were met by two receptionists with a sour face. They couldn’t choose less services people from these two. No smile, not a pleasant welcome, no welcome back or maybe Congratulations the honeymoon.... Sour face.
The only things that interested him - first of all to pay the taxi that brought us to a place - immediately and in cash (because it is not possible to charge the room account and pay at the end), and talk about our check out - coordinate the ferry (although we have 4 more days…)
At this point we were still optimistic and thought it was just us and all we wanted to get into the room.
The Room (Premier Room) is in a very low maintenance. There is a mold stains in the shower, mold stains at the balcony, burned lamp...
At this point we still thought it would be OK and we thought about maybe upgrading the room for extra charge. The receptionist was said he would check and let us know. Of course we have not heard more about it....
At the same time we wanted to book a private tour - a tour of beaches with taxi Boat, and he said that the price from 4000 to 5000 baht. We tried to understand what it includes and what price - 4000 or 5000 baht. At the end he decided that the price is 3,500 baht for five-hour tour. Because it seemed expensive, we went close to the beach where they offered us the same thing in 2000 baht.
All kind of things are very expensive throw the resort - beware....
Restaurant – At Lunch of two chicken burger I had to get up 4 times - the first time to ask for a menu, a second to request order the food, a third time to ask for ketchup and a fourth time to ask for the bill. Every time the waiter returned to sit inside and just did not care that we were sitting there. From that moment until we left, we preferred to eat at a restaurant with wonderful staff elsewhere on the island...
Payment - Hotel staff seemed confident that at any moment his guests are Running away without paying. The hotel does not allow to Charge the room for anything so we had to pay in cash all the time. drinks at the pool, restaurant, taxi - Pay when booking ...

Towels - there are No towels at the pool. Towels are in the room and you have to take them with you. The first day we forgot the towels in the room (and since the way the room has about 100 steps on the mountain) so we asked for extra towels at the reception. The receptionist with the sour face agreed to give us towels - of course not before he took the trouble to explain to me that it's completely wrong and he does not have to give me towels...

Beach – the beach in front of the resort had a Reef that is blocking the water and creates a situation that the water in front of Resort is gray and dirty. To enter the water you have to to go down the beach to another.

And all sorts of little things - if you want to wash you sent you to take her admission that must pay at the moment so can not send her into ... At no saccharin, smell shocking admission, some of the beds in the pool are broken ...
Shocking place.
Defiantly not a resort.
If you are wondering - obviously we have not received a refund for the 2 nights that we checked out.
More than that - they did not even bother to ask why we're leaving ...i guess It does not seem strange to them that we really do not like the place...
Apparently they're used to it...
Among the worst service experience I had in Thailand ... Beware ...

As a group of 3 couples, we stayed two nights in one of the grand deluxe rooms. The other couples stayed in a standard and the pool villa. Our room was located in the main rise building and it was very spacious! Though our room was in need of a bit of renovation it didnt hamper our experience one bit.

The hotel itself is located right on the Salad beach, which is a beautiful beach, though a bit quiet compared to Chaweng beach at Koh Samui this is the perfect way to spend a couple of days just taking it easy.

The staff is extremely serviceminded, at times it almost seemed we had our own employee catering our needs at all times. After speaking to a young lady working as a waitress there she explained that she hoped to one day to get at job on one of the hotels at Koh Samui and from there gain enough experience to one day work at a high-end hotel in Bangkok.

Reccomended!

We stayed in a private villa with pool for 5 days in July 2012.
Although a bit small for four people, the room was very nice and well decorated.
We didn't use the private pool that much due to the muscitos.
However the "beachpool" was excellent.
Food at the hotel is good.
Not to forget, the fantastic way the rooms are being presented after cleaning.
Compliments to the service.
Mentality is very good and efficient.
They will always help you!
Spa was medium.

We booked the Salad Beach Resort but when we arrived our room was not available, they had some problems with the booking website...so they moved us to the Salad Buri Resort & Spa (same owner). This resort is amazing...every room has its private Jacuzzi in the sea-view terrace (except our room, the only room in all the hotel without a terrace).
Rooms are very clean, with nice furniture.
The resort is in Haad Salad bay, it is build on really steep hills surrounded by tropical wood (and animals...).
The resort has a 3 level swimming pool just in front of the beach!
Beach in Haad Salad is very nice and you can rent masks to see corals and fishes...
For dinner the resort organizes a BBQ on the beach. We ate amazing fish and it's very cheap!
Breakfast is international.
We rented a motorbike (be careful no insurance available) and we visited other beaches in the surrounding area (Had mae Had, Ao Chaloklum, Had Khom, Had Yao)...it's possible to move using taxi boats and their communitarian taxi but we preferred to have some independence!

This resort was much, much nicer than any other in Haad Salad. My wife and I booked 2 nights and decided to stay for 3 more. We originally booked a standard room. Please note that they are SMALL, but for two of us, it worked out just fine. If you have kids or a third person, this room WILL NOT be big enough.

We also stayed in the premiere room. It was beautiful and had a huge jacuzzi tub on the balcony. The view was great. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, I definitely recommend this room.

Regarding the pool villas, we looked at them and chose not to get one. They didn't offer any more than a small plunge pool, and with such a nice hotel pool at your disposal, it hardly seemed worth it.

The downside of the hotel is the reception staff. They aren't mean or rude, they just aren't trained to handle situations. For instance, my TV didn't work and they didn't know how to fix it. The hotel's computers were frozen and they didn't know how to fix them. I wanted recommendations on restaurants on the northside of the island, they couldn't offer recommendations other than the hotel's restaurant. The front desk told me that he hadn't had a day off in 6 months - guaging by the morale of the reception staff, I would guess that they were all in the same boat.

We booked this hotel for 2 days having stayed 3 days down at Bay Lounge on Ban Tai Beach, near the full moon party, for a chill out, relaxation and snorkelling. We booked a private pool villa with sea view. We were colleted from the pier for 150tbh per person - by private air-conditioned mini van. On arrival we saw the run down entrance with old construction equipment and wrecked car and fountian that looked in need of a good scrub (as others have mentioned here)
That aside the rest of the resort is really nice - just a shame they dont take care of the entrance, as first impression always count.

The reception area and staff were welcoming and freindly, speedy check in and transfer to our room. However, we booked a sea view room and what we got was a villa behind another block. We went back to reception and asked for what we paid for and were swiftly moved to a sea view villa, perfect! Its a shame we had spend the first hour mucking about.

The 3 tier pool is fantstic and right on the beach, with plenty of chairs, loungers etc. The pool bar was closed but i appreciate this is out of season and was no bother for our short stay. The Beach is fantastic the snorkelling for us however was not. Now we have been to egypt where the snorkelling is sensational so have probably been spoilt. There is a smaller beach 10 mins away by car that the reception staff said had the best snorkelling - we just didn't get that far.

The villa itself was everything you could ask for. The pictures on the website do not lie and they are imaculatly clean. I dont need to say anymore - you will not be dissapointed with the pool villas. The breakfast left a lot to desire tho. The food was left out for the flies to land on - not just a few mind, a swam. The eggs i had both days had shell in them. A little more care here and effort and it could be great.

The spa - is a row of massage beds screened off from the restaurant so dont be fooled here! we didn't use as it was more expensive than those on the beach also.

Try cookies's next door for absolutley fantastic food and superb coffee!
