I have stayed at many places in Ko Phangan but this is a hidden gem. Affordble, limited number of Villas, quiet, quality food, amazing cocktails and right on your own private beach. We stayed at the end of January start of February 2014 and will definately stay nex time we are here.

The menu selection for breakfast was amazing with sourdough bread baked onsite and home made pineapple jam. The meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner are all high quailty and affordable.

Quiet and relaxing with very friendly staff. Jam the bartender always had a smile on his face and was more than happy to make another cocktail at sunset.

Close to the action and night markets or a 15 ride or taxi if you are looking for a bit more action otherwise there is no reason to leave the Villa or the hammock right at your front door.

Beautiful sunsets every day, clean and affordable very friendly environment.

Every Villa has a view of the beach. Highly reccommend with lots of amazing photos and memories.

Room Tip: the all have a view of the beach

we stayed here for five nights over Christmas 2013. It is lovely. Peaceful and relaxing. If you're a backpacker wanting to party then this is not for you but if you're a bit older and want somewhere to chill where you can easily get to the night life and escape afterwards then this place is definitely worth a go. The beach is sweet although it's not the best on the island by any stretch but you can easily taxi or bike out to these for the day. Probably better to eat elsewhere but the food is still good. In short, really good value for money (we were here at peak price time too), lovely huts right on the beach and the sunset is lush too......every single time!

Nearly ideal place - bungalows very nice, enough space, beds comfortable, very clean. wi-fi almost everytwhere!
One of the main things - great staff and service very well organised by the owners. Many thanks!

If you're looking for a luxury hotel room stay with candle light romantic dinners in a fancy restaurant or all daily luxury in your room (like herbal soaps, brand name shampoos or a fantastic large room) Baan Manali is not for you. Stay away if that's the case.

If you're looking to stay away from the hussle of big city life and keep away from daily socializing and relax on a hammock with the ultimate sound of movements of the sea for hours without any disturbance and read your book you don't have a better place with this value/benefit ratio.

Such an excellent, clean and comfy beach with a hammock, two thai huts with sofas and enough sunbathes. Sea is excellent, clean and enormously fit for children (No many kids as Baan Manali only have two family bungalows). It's a lagoon and keep all dirt of the deep sea and wind. Maximum no of adults on the 100 mt hotel sandy beach can be 20 and that has never been the case during our stay. Mostly we found ourselves alone in our premise and slept for 2-3 hours without any single noise on white sands. White soft sand, sunbathes under coconut (coconuts regularly collected for breakfast to avoid falling down) and other trees and no other hotel sharing the beach. Sea kayaking is an activity you can do and visit small islands next to Phangan. But hammocking was my favourite sport.

The facility is a no news no shoes type of place. Restaurant area is a bare foot area where everyone leaves shoes outside, but free wifi is everywhere. Gentleman owner Sebastien and his lovely wife Liat live there as well with their two cute children and they don't have a fake smile on their faces just as you are customers and just because you're paying, they just treat you as their guests and they try to make you happy. We've met them as owners of the hotel and we're leaving behind two friends. Kokomo's kitchen is the restaurant where you can have most delicious homemade coconut muesli in the world as breakfast. It's simple, clean and tasty enough. Excellent shakes, simple frashly cooked Thai food and all the time ice cold beer they have. Again, if you expect a 5 star fine dining restaurant what you'll get is disappointment. But again their restaurant is almost best among available on Koh Phangan as far as we heard from others who tried.

You will have a bungalow of your own and this bungalow has a sea view terrace of own with one hammock and two comfy seats. Perfect sunset on your own terrace is an excellent opportunity. Don't forget your bug sprey as Baan Manali is inside of the nature full of coconut trees and plants. Your room is large enough for a comfy bed and a bathroom. There are only twelve bungalows which have been perfectly designed and placed, all have sea view and don't see eachother.

Staff is excellent, most of the time you can see the owner taking orders, fixing electricity or Liat bringing the food. The gardener is excellent and keeping the beach tidy every minute.

From the resort10 min walking you find Thong Sala Village where you can find anything and koh Phangan offers many things for everyone and you can taste each of them as you keep Baan Manali as your base.

To sum it up, Baan Manali was an excellent choice where professional and travellers photos were the same and we revitilized ourselves in this piece of paradise. Our gratitudes to owners and all staff for making our days.
