“Worst attitude towards guests have not met”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2014 via mobile

Worst attitude towards guests have not met for 5 years stay in Thailand. Not friendly staff, owner ham and rednecks! The cafe at the bungalows are not tasty and very expensive cafe staff does not speak English. Although the view from the cafe is good.

I stayed here in December with 2 friends and the location was the only positive thing about these bungalows. There just about on the beach and the beach is beautiful. From outside the bungalows look fantastic but a real shock when walking inside, they are so old fashioned! Hardest beds iv stayed in whilst travelling Asia for 4 months, dirty bathroom which I don't even think had been cleaned the sink was not connected and water poured everywhere from the back, drains smelt and staff were so unfriendly! They were really nice until they had our money. You had to go and ask for fresh towels and toilet roll! Would never stay here again much nicer places on haad Yao!

We chose to stay at silver beach due to the reasonable number of good reviews.
We were highly disappointed. The bungalows them selves look very nice from the out side but once entering it was different story. The bathroom was very dated and the only cleaning that had took place was a bin emptied the sink the toilet the floor the walls were not clean. The sink did not connect to the drain so if you turned it on it poured on your feet.
The bedroom, beds as solid as a rock and I am used to this by now from travelling for 3 months but these were the worst. No bed sheets just a random fleece. Towels that were obviously left by other guests. A smashed window in the room and a air con that didn't have the correct remote. When we confronted owner about issues the only thing they could resolve was the remote.
For the price it was the most we had paid on all 3 islands we went to in that season and by far the poorest.
When it came to leaving we asked for the staff to call us a taxi to the pier, when they told us a outrageous price we asked for it lower and they refused to help is and told us to walk, when we worried about not getting one we asked to book again and they refused to even talk to us.
I never write a bad review and I generally feel bad for doing so but I feel something has to be said about these.
Location was amazing. Beach superb. Food much better up and along beach. Silver beach near on double price.
Only people I would push to recommend this too is a group out to party nothing more.

Originally booked for 4 but stayed 8 days.. Choose bungalows 1-3 for the best space and interiors.... Beautiful beach ... Food not so great but then have a wander!! I would suggest hiring a scooter to explore... Thanks to the staff for a lovely time.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great experience. The location is excellent and the prices are a steal. Have to say we didn't eat here because the prices were double for the same items elsewhere. I'd recommend the "Best Cafe" next to 711 for a great menu at a lower price. They have a huge selection. I'd also recommend renting a motorcycle and checking out the other beaches to the north, although haad Yao is pretty awesome if you don't.

Room Tip: Fan room should be okay but on an especially hot day opt for the A/C.

We originally booked a fan only bungalow but as it was so hot we changed to an air con. Bungalows were made of bricks, very roomy and comfortable with a little patio out the front. Ours was the bungalow closest to the beach and had wifi connection as was close to bar/restaurant.
Staff friendly with good English, and we also hired a scooter and snorkling gear from them.
Only problem was that at the time if year we were there (April-May) the west coast of the island has a very low tide which makes swimming at the very pretty beach difficult because of the coral which is very shallow.

We knew that we wanted to head to the North West area of Koh Phangan as the snorkelling there would be better and decided on Haad Yao. We weren't disappointed as it was a lovely beach and easy enough to scoot around the island from there.

After looking at pretty much all of the bungalows on offer along the beach we came across Silver Beach bungalows. The bungalows there were definitely some of the best on the beach and for the price they were excellent value for money.

We stayed for 5 nights and paid 500 Baht p/n (what a steal). The only other bungalows that came close to the standard of Silver Beach were over 2,000 Baht per night.

Our bungalows was almost right on the beach - we could see the ocean from ours. They had A/c, hot water showers and a massive mozzie net over the bed.

The owner and her family were lovely too. We rented scooters from them to explore the rest of the island and had no issues at all. The restaurant was also good and the food tasty and reasonably priced.

If I had any gripes it would be that our room wasn't cleaned once whilst we were there, but I guess if we'd asked they would have done it (seems to be the way in Asia). The WiFi connection was only good in the restaurant / bar area too.

Worth noting also that a lot of the bars and restaurants on Haad Yao beach close quite early so if you're after a full moon party, head to the South of the island.

Room Tip: The bungalows nearest the beach offer a bit of a sea view.
