We spent 9 days from late December 2012 at Garden Willage and loved it. The houses are exelent and the surroudings buitiful. The owners (Arne and Anne) are extremle helpful and even located our lost suitcase. Rent a scooter and get around. It is very safe. Charloklum are very authentic with great fish reastaurants.

Me and a friend stayed at Phangan Garden Village in December 2012. We are extremely happy and satisfied with our stay.

The area is among the most beautiful we saw on the island and the owners who themselves live in the area are very helpful and caring and was a contributing factor to that we had such an enjoyable holiday. I can honestly recommend you to choose Garden Village if you are going to the island of Koh Phangan.

My partner and I spent our winter vacation in Thailand, and one of the attractions we wanted to see was the infamous Full Moon Party in Ko Phangan. We arrived at the island with no accommodations reserved in advance due to the high popularity of this party. So, we were prepared to "rough it" and accept whatever we can find. Fortunately, the booking agency we stumbled into recommended a resort - however, we were warned that it came with a couple of catches: It was on the other side of the island opposite from the party, and it was more expensive than the average hotel in the area. But, we soon learned that it was only a 20 min ride to the party, and relative to the costs of accommodations of the same caliber in the West, it was more than reasonable.

We arrived to Phangan Garden Village and were blown away by the beauty, the tranquility, the quality of the suites and amenities, and the friendliness of the resort owners and staff. We immediately felt at home... which was a first on our trip.

Chaloklum is an area of the island that is far from touristy in that, although there were tourists, we didn't feel bombarded by them nor were we bothered by those trying to capitalize off of them.

The restaurants in town are great! Since Chaloklum is a fishing village, their seafood selection is as fresh as it gets. Of course, the restaurants all serve traditional Thai dishes, like curries and noodles. But, if you do find yourself craving spaghetti, you will not find difficulty in finding restaurants that serve Western dishes.

We spent our days at Phangan Garden Village in this manner: We woke up to our suite bathed in sunlight. We cooked our breakfast with the freshest ingredients from the local market, and ate it on the balcony overlooking the exotic and lush gardens. Our days would be mostly spent scooting around, seeing the sights and attractions (ie. elephant trekking) and checking out new beaches where all sorts of water sports are available (ie. snorkeling, water skiing). After a quick nap and a change of clothes, we would head into town to eat at a beach-side restaurant. On the nights we didn't go to the Full Moon Party, we spent the evenings in the private pool or drinking wine with the owners and other guests at the resort.

Our time at Phangan Garden Village was serene and relaxing, and it is no wonder so many quests stay for months at a time here. You truly feel at home, and will not want to leave!

Tip: Do rent a scooter if you stay in this area. Since this area is not too busy, scooting around is quite safe, especially if you're new to scooting. Plus, there are many hills, so walking to see the attractions in the area can work up a sweat!

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path!
