We stayed at Baan Panburi (when it was still at Noi beach) a few years ago and loved it so thought we would head back there. We discovered that Buri Rasa was a bit more upmarket but as we were coming to the end of our time in Thailand we thought why not treat ourselves. And it was a treat, so much so that we kept extending our stay so what should have been 3 nights turned into 6 ! It was great to see a lot of the previous staff still there, which of course included Banana and she was just as lovely and helpful as ever. The rooms were beautiful, grounds immaculate, food delicious and the staff so friendly and attentive without being too much. The beach was kept clean and sipping a cocktail at sunset made me feel so spoiled. There are a few other restaurants walking distance as well as shops/pharmacy not that you would need much. It truly is an amazing place with incredible people. Keep doing what you are doing!

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room with our own balcony that felt very private.

Please take note...from Australia we thought we bought the deal of the century with what was included in our package.  Upon arrival and taking advantage of our vouchers we got with our deal, we realized that it wasn't the deal we thought we got for the money we paid.  We thought we were getting value for our money with the deal we paid which said over $4000 aus in value.  The room was amazing, the service was amazing....some of the staff were exceptional...a couple of stand outs...Win, Tom,Banana and a lovely girl in the restaurant!!! But the vouchers???? We were told on check in that we couldn't have the Thai cooking class voucher as we did not book prior to arrival, even though we were there for 8 days and there was no mention prior to arrival to book before we left home.... The massage vouchers...a young girl, who seemed to be middle management, working there was not pleasant...she did not listen to what we wanted and we put two vouchers together for an hour massage each and she stopped at 40 minutes...she did not listen when we told her this...my husband even wasted his last voucher and paid for a massage in the village instead which was sooo much better.  She seemed to be just going through the motions and did not offer the same thai experience as with the other ladies.  The older ladies were lovely, but they seemed to be run by this young girl who had an attitude for some reason.  My foot massage on the last day was amazing, this young girl was not present on this day.  I would not ever pay for a massage here due to the young girls demeanor when I could get a massage in the village without her attitude.  The romantic seafood dinner for two??? Was the worst dinner I have EVER had.  There was no romance, no staff knew what we were meant to be eating, everyone was eating around us while we waited an hour for horrible food...we left leaving all our dinner.  We complained the following day and the next dinner was exceptional...thanks to boy and banana and all chefs involved...which should have been that way in the first place.  We met other guests who had the same experience who said they did not return to the restaurant to use their voucher...even though the next dinner was exceptional we did not eat in the restaurant again for lunch or dinner due to our really bad experience....the breakfast each day was sensational and the staff at breakfast we could not fault. the village and neighbouring resorts offered fantastic food that was better value for money and delivered quality food consistently.  Overall, although poor weather..knowing full well we were coming in the rain season, we love Thai people and Thai customs and had an amazing holiday and this did not detract from our overall stay, the staff at the bar at happy hours were amazing.  I am only providing this as constructive criticism.  I would probably not stay here again until i knew the food and value for money in what was offered in our deal was substantiated.  I would do more research next time regarding the true value of the deal.  We will definately be coming back to thong noi pan.

Room Tip: Beach front rooms awesome...less privacy but worth the money

Ugly rooms. Bad service.
The "private beach" is neglected.
No privacy whatsoever our balcony was on the dining room,
We were asked to wait half an hour before our safe could be open. On today we came there were doing some gardening work. And a noisy one.

Arrived here to catch the full moon events on the island. Due to heavy rain, we've decided to skip the party as the road from Buri Rasa resort was to muddy and the way by our opinion was too risky. The resort is just perfect for a 4-6 day relaxation. The restaurant is very good and not expensive at all. You get a 15% discount on menu with a note you get every lunch or dinner. It keeps the guests in the hotel..... Its not worthwhile going out as the restaurant here is very good with also international cuisine. I keep eating the very good Thai they offer...... The hotel is situated next to a very nice and expensive one, our friends, who stayed at Anantara resort came to Buri Rasa for food, drinks and even arrange their drive back to the pier. The hotel is modern, Spanish /TexMex style deco. Everything is well maintained and the staff is amazing. The rooms get clean very fast, all the necessary are available too. The mini bar is nicely equip and the prices are fair. The beach is nice, the chairs are good and the large towels are excellent. You can borrow kayak, you can rent a jet ski too. The whole site is setup so nice! It is not a bungalow style hotel, the rooms are modern. The kitchen food is in nice modern dishes. The bar is on the sand. Everything is close and still very intimate.

Nice hotel, nice staff and a nice beach but it's not super luxury - it's just nice.

Breakfast was good as was the cleaning.

New hotel so the room was great.

Poor pool which we didn't use - full of kids.

We ate dinner once when they were having a BBQ on the beach - the entertainment was ok but it wasn't a BBQ buffet - you had choice of one thing and I was still hungry so I had a dessert to finish.

Highlight of the hotel is the beach-side bar - happy hour recommended - nice staff and great cocktails!

In a nutshell all of the hotels on this beach are ok if you want to stay in a resort style hotel, the local village is nothing to write home about.
