“The Family Gym”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

On average I would say I'm about twice the age of your average student at Kobra. This made no difference to Kob, or any of the other trainers. From day one I was accepted into the Kobra Family. The training was hard, but it was also fun. I was an absolute beginner so I started with the basics. The quality of the training had me improving my technique with each session. Eventually I was in better shape than I had been in since my twenties. Regardless of how busy it was, I was always given individual attention. Kob and his family also helped me privately with some personal things; something they didn't have to do. You are not just going to a gym; you are making friends with some really good people.

“The best thing I ever did!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

I came to Thailand with a plan to train some muay thai. My first time travelling and so far away! It turns out that I was so happy at kobra I ended up staying there for more than a third of my three month trip and after a nice little stay on the andaman coast I am looking forward to going back to the place that feels like home already for the last two weeks of my trip. Where do I start! Life at kobra is something I thrived off. Training everyday with the best muay thai professionals who are so much fun and make you so welcome. Having previously spent a week at another muay thai gym I quickly saw the vast difference in quality at kobra. Kobra is not just a business for the trainers but a passion. I noticed straight away that all of the trainers here will make sure your technique is improving and not just "let you hit the pads". The environment is something else. I thrived and grew in confidence and just want to keep training and improving. Everyday I would wake up to the sound of muay thai. Encouragement and instructions shouted from trainers and the sound of elbows kicks punches and knees from the trainees. Kobra is run by family-master kob of course the owner of the gym. Super hard guy but a nicer guy you will not find! I am going to paste a message that I sent home to my parents whilst at kobra......**** I am good. I've made some lovely friends here and have been really enjoying my time. Yesterday I booked my ticket to move on to koh samui on friday. It was my friend claudias birthday aswell so we went for a meal. Thursday night there r fights here at the gym (my last night here) last week I went to watch fights with kobra team. Watched my trainer win by ko from the ringside. They nearly came out the ring a couple times and kob was shouting from the side in thai. I will miss being shouted at to kick/hit pads! Ive been sparring with girls wich is great coz theyre much more advanced but they dont go too easy on me so I learn a lot. Last week monks came to bless kobs house. We all had to sit on the floor whilst they chanted for ages and then we had lovely thai food made by kobs wife kay and her sister and cousins. As it was sunday yesterday I had a massage and hired a bicycle. Its a really nice way to get around locally. I cycled up to the temple. They have a traditional herbal sauna there and wen u come out to cool down ur in the jungle. I love it here and have got so used to life. Kobs wife has a real sharpe wit her and her sister run the restraunt and their mum 'mama' is really lovely. She speaks little english but smile says it all and she punches me in the belly wen im doing sit ups and kobs not about. I run and train and wake up to the sound of muay thai every day. After training in afternoon I hear the kids playing muay thai in the ring and dinging the bell. The family dog is an alsation called pansak who is mouthy and mad like cliff. And the outdoor showers r surrounded by palm trees and full of geckos. Feels like a home frm home here l def be coming back*****. Recieving that message made my mum and dads day on a wet and windy morning in england on their way to work. This trip has been life changing for me and im so glad I did it my way and end up spending so long at kobra. I cannot even sum it up there is too much to say! Made lifelong friends that feel like family! Had so many laughs and smiles and memories I will treasure forever. Aswell as training with the best guys in the business I have met amazing strong women through my time at kobra which has been a huge part in making my time here so special. Thankyou for welcoming me. Training me. Feeding me the best food! Laughing everyday (at me and with me haha)....the best time ever. I really cant even explain. Cant wait to come back. xxxxxxx

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Muay Thai training was not my primary reason for holidaying in Thailand. However, I happened to be in Koh Phangan at the time, and had some spare time to burn. After a quick Google search, I came across Kobra's 'tripadvisor' webpage.

Every review of Kobra was / is overwhelmingly positive, which made for an easy decision on my behalf. I ventured to the gym with already high expectations. Needless to say, Kobra did not disappoint.

Every facet of the gym; from the welcoming trainers and staff, to the inviting atmosphere, is ideal. The instruction I received from the trainers at Kobra epitomized high quality. Detailed, analytical, and technical. Every trainer there will greet you with a warm smile, and zero ego.

Kobra has everything you could want in Muay Thai gym, from the novice to a professional level fighter.

I truly believe my single week spent at Kobra Muay Thai was the equivalent of a month's training at any local gym, here in Australia. My only regret is that I did not stay and train in Koh Phangan longer. Oh well, next time...

Kob and Sak, you guys are awesome. Thanks again!

“Amazing gym”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I didn't know anything about muay thai before going to thailand and now after 3 months spent here I fell in love with the sport and the whole atmosphere all thanks to the kobra family and their amazing hospitality and teaching!I couldn't imagine a better place to train muay thai full of positivity and professionalism. I am so happy to have found this school and am looking forward to the rest of my time here.
