“Awesome and Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed 15 April 2013

We traveled and spent only 4 days there. But it was a wonderful and awesome 4 days. We were greeted and welcomed in a cosy and heart-touching manner after a 40 mins of rocky ride from the Thong Sala pier. Freezing cold-nice scented towel certainly refreshed us! The rooms were fantastically beautiful. We booked for deluxe cottage and the view that we had was stunningly beautiful as it faces the sea. We feel at home with the private balcony in the cottage and the open view to the sea as we bathed in the luxurious bathtub is a bliss. The food and entertainment in the resort were awesome and fantastic. Staff were really friendly and they always do their level best to attend to our service. The spas are good too! The beach is clean and feels good with its soft sand. The water might not be as clear as other beautiful island but yet it's at satisfactory level. All in all, it truly suits it's theme : Paradise Alike. Looking forward to return there again sometime later! =)

Room Tip: Go for deluxe cottage and try to go for higher levels of cottages as they have clearer view of the s...

We booked 6 nights here and were lucky enough to get upgraded. The room was amazing, with a great ocean view and good housekeeping daily. Breakfast was exceptional with a great ocean view. There were chefs to cook you eggs/roti etc how ever you like and a large selection of fruit, yoghurt, baked goods etc.
There were just a couple of let downs to our stay.
1- It cost 500bht (about $18) to hire a kayak for 3 hours. every resort I have been to have rented these non-motorised watersports equipment for free.
2- The beach restaurant food was below par.
3- It was daylight robbery to get to/from the resort. To get there cost us $10pp and that was in a tuk tuk with other people. To get back, we didn't line up with the timing of the resort van - which was 300bht pp- so they offered us a private ride for 1200 bht ($40). It was a 15 min drive. We ended up organising our own ride for $27 in the village.

It was just a shame when people save so hard for a nice holiday, and then have to fork out excessive amounts.

I would recommend to stay here, but if you are experienced at riding a motorbike/scooter, rent one in town when you arrive. It will most likely cost you less in the long run. Mind you the roads are not all paved so watch the conditions!

Room Tip: If you don't like walking up and down steep hills, stay closer to the reception.

We would recommend this resort. We spent 12 fantastic days here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and entertainment were fabulous. Top class!!!

The walk up from the beach was well worth it for the view you get from your room. Great private outdoor bath on your balcony great with a nice glass of wine.

Kathy and Gary from Australia.

Room Tip: All rooms have a beautiful view. Well worth the walk.

most important thing to know that the resort is on the other side of the island, not on the side where the fairy arrives. it is no where near Hadarin and it takes about 45 minutes in car on a dirt road to arrive there.

food was regular / medium.

accomodation were ok, not too fancy (we stayed in the regular rooms), didn't even have a docking station for the Ipod and it lacked electricity outlets.

staff wasn't very nice either.

resort itself is located in a beautiful scenery overlooking a small gulf and high on the cliff. at night be ware of the mosquitos.

management was also a little sluggish we were actually charged for a spa treatment few weeks after we departed even though we were told by the concierge that it would be OTH...

My husband and I recently spent 10 nights at the Panviman Resort, which was absolutely fabulous. Our room was lovely, the breakfast was fantastic, the staff friendly and helpful and the view from the infinity pool was stunning. We look forward to returning again!

Panviman was pure delight from start to finish in our 7 night stay. This splendid resort hugs two sides of a small mountain facing two of Koh Phanang's most beautiful beaches. We were well received by friendly staff, welcome drinks and iced jasmine scented towels. Our room was very spacious with olde worlde Thai style furnishings, an enormous very comfortable bed, a fabulous bathroom, all with unbelievable views. We also enjoyed a private deck leading off our bedroom to a jacuzzi and sauna (sauna was too hot to use) but a chilled glass of wine was enjoyed at dusk each day in the bubbles of our jacuzzi overlooking the ocean.

Each villa is very private and quiet which is very important to us. Service all round was top notch with friendly staff, perhaps barring one gentleman whom we called 'Mr Angry', but we were so unfazed due to all the beauty and other friendliness of staff surrounding us.

The pools are fantastic with very comfortable loungers and large umbrellas for shade. A constant supply of fresh towels, pool service and cleanliness all round prevailed.

The extra bonus of this fantastic resort was the close proximity to a few surrounding villages which were close enough to walk to and which served up some of the best food Thailand possibly has to offer. We recommend 'Long Tail Restaurant' for excellent traditional Thai food, "Luna" although French owned, fusions of Thai feature on the menu and is a wonderful and romantic place to dine. You cannot leave this part of Koh Phanang without trying the Handsome Burger, cafe of which offers other very unique services with plenty of humour to boot.

Our only complaints are the food at the Panviman which needs an update (for e.g.one type of fish was only available and tasted bland at that), but the village restaurants more than made up for this. Although our air conditioner worked extremely well, keeping us cool through the night, it was very noisy and at times disturbed our sleep.

We will however, return to Panviman which is a great hotel enjoying exceptional views from just about every nook and cranny and which has an almost endless variety of surrounding facets to tickle the senses.

Room Tip: The Jacuzzi Spa rooms are best furthest from the pool area.
