This is a must go - must see.

To start off with, on arrival, we were met by the bellboy who carried our bags through the complex: I say complex but mean only in terms of hotel size, not rooms-the majority of the hotel being comprised of a beautiful open garden, overgrown and housing ornate statues, a waterfall (the entrance to the hotel is at the top of a slight incline) and a superbly kept and clean swimming pool.

Either sides of this mini jungle are small bungalows - these appeared quite modern and peaceful being in the garden, but we were in another part of the hotel (other reviews here have mentioned these and are worth reading).

We were then taken through to the main social area-our room was a beach view which was atop the main meeting place: the open plan dining area, patio, bar and computer area (for a small fee these can be used-I believe it was 20B per 10mins).

Taken up the stairs, our room over looked the patio and the onsite massage area (which I should add, had agreeable prices and were really good - and this is coming from a bloke!).

Room was basic with a balcony but we were paying for the view and this should be in no way a negative.

On site facilities are kayaks (a deposit of 1000B is needed but then it's 250-300B for 2 hours or so), a professional and accredited diving company as well as a pool table in the social area.

Plenty of seating around the pool, outside the bar above the sandy beach and plenty of towel space for the beach allocated to the hotel.

The food was also divine: seafood BBQ every evening and then a good selection of Thai and some western dishes also to choose from. We ate there every night and this was not only down to the food but the staff-all if not most were from Burma, very keen to share their stories and learn more about you and were genuinely nice people. If nothing else, this made the experience in itself and can't rate them any higher. Highly attentive and very high standards of service.

We had initially only booked two nights due to travelling schedules but after arriving, we paid for another night (paying for the hotel in Samui as well!) so we could enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Definitely the best decision we made on our trip!

Note to Travellers:
Arranging taxi transfers to the ferry port, the only bit of guidance I would add to anyone going to Pangang overall is to ensure if possible, booking a transfer with your hotel of choice whatever it may be: there is a taxi mafia at the port and there is no option to barter, with strict prices for all Taxi's. Although marginally cheaper, it was with Salad's own taxi service and this should be noted for all travellers going to the island, who would prefer to pay smart than pay to the taxi syndicate.

We had planned a couple of days at Hat salad only but extended our stay to 6! And never made it to the other side of the island. Hat salad resort is just perfect for families right on the beach but with a very pleasant pool.

The restaurant staff was very helpful and made a series of animal pancakes our daughter will remember! Flowers, rabbits, sea-horses, you name it, they make it! The breakfast buffet is plentiful facing the ocean and the view is magnificent.

Our daughter quickly found out where to drink the best coconut, eat the best spaghetti and have the best ice-cream and visited all the hotel pools with the children she paired with. It was the first time my husband and I could go diving without thinking twice as she was busy all day.

The hotel was located on a little bay that had maybe 10 other very small resorts. Salad Beach Resort was the most beautiful. The staff were outstanding, the food was great and so were the prices. At night they do a beautiful dinner on the beach, lit with candles... very romantic.
The grounds were beautifully kept and the pool was open all night (most others close at 8pm). Spa was great and affordable as well.
The beach outfront was also fantastic. It was very shallow so great for small children and it had great snorkling too.
The only thing to be aware of is that there isn't a ton around. A few shops but other then that it is a bit secluded.

Room tip: Beautiful bungalows... but for those on more of a budget... the garden view room (more like a typical hotel room) is also nice.

We were 5 of us who booked two room there during Full moon party on 16 july and 17 july. When we entered the hotel we couldnt see any CCTV cameras in the corridors but we ignored the same . on 17th night (during full moon party ) when we people were out of room , the staff members stole money from our baggages . We kept our money inside the baggage which was difficult to find unless someone has watched u closely keeping it, so we suspect they have installed spy cams in room . on 17th evening before going to full moon party all of us have kept the money inside the bag and Locked the bags for security . whole night we were paertying out and on 18th afternoon we checked out for pattaya. When we reached pattaya we found the money from our bags were stolen . from all five of us. We reported the same to the Police station at pattaya and registered a Complain there . though we wont get our money back , But stil I recommend all the people not to go FOr SALAD BEACH RESORT....we are very sure that no one except them has done this job coz except for full moon party time we kept our bag with us. We even called up the management of hotel but due to language problem we couldnt fight with them clearly. I highly recommend Trip advisiors readers to Take care and better not to opt for SALAD BEACH RESORT. The room was booked in the name of Mitul.

We stayed here for four nights in June and got an OK walk in rate of THB 1600 per night for a garden villa. We looked at quite a few on Haad Salad beach and for he price, decided it was the best one. A very good choice overall.

Salad Beach Resort has two small blocks and about 20 or so bungalows in lovely tropical gardens. All extremely well kitted out, comfortable, good aircon and very clean. Bedding and towels are changed every day. We stayed in a garden view bungalow, which I think is the best value, as they are quite a bit cheaper than the ones by the pool and the most expensive beach front ones, which all seem pretty much the same anyway. All bungalows have a nice terrace, which is pretty private due to all the plants and trees in the garden.
The staff are really nice, as is the food. There is a nice pool although it can get quite hot there, as there isnt much sea breeze.

Salad Beach itself is beautiful. Just the right balance between quiet and enough to keep ypu occupied for a few days. Extremely clean and lovely clean water. Quite a few restaurants. All the ones we tried were nice.

Tip. If you like pizza, go to Chocolum (sp?) on Thurs or Sun for proper Italian pizza at Cucina Italia. Excellent!

Room tip: Garden view bungalows are the best value

Our room was comfortable and clean, we stayed inghr main building which was fune. Our tv stopped working but the staff swapped it for another one without and fuss or bother. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful, good food and lots of choice, the staff make pancakes and eggs as you like them. The beach here is beautiful and there are a few other restaurants and resorts within a short walk so there I'd variety too. Pool is huge and very well kept, they need to invest in a few more sun umbrellas though.
