Lovely room with nice bathroom and balcony. Right on a beach (non swimable!), with everything you need for relaxation... Massage, restaurants, minimart, scooter hire (go to JayJays). Friendly staff and lovely pool area. Only thing... Woke up with bites.wasn't sure if bed bugs as spoke to other guests who didn't have same problem. Put fresh mint under sheets and that did the trick anyhow!

Would return for a chilled time, excellent value. The pick you up from boat for free, if book ahead. Tip:  only book 1 night on agoda, then negotiate that price, minus the fees when there.

Salad Beach resort was our first sojourn during our 10 days Honeymoon trip to Thailand. Sandwiched between a lush green entrance and sea beach this resort is perfect for a lazy vacation. The staff is very warm and cordial making the stay memorable. We had taken the deluxe room with partial view of sea. The restaurant is just next to the beach and they serve a decent variety in complimentary breakfast.
The salad beach is a decent sized beach with many resorts and restaurant all along. there are few shops just outside the resort where one can but beach wear, swimming gears and also can rent a bike.
The only problem is if you are going to Phangan for full moon party, salad beach is way too far from Haad Rin and roads are very hilly. I and my wife had quite an adventure going to party late night, and inspired me to write it all down in http://travellingcamera.travellerspoint.com/7/.
Over all it was a good value for money and memorable stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed in 4 different hotels/resorts during our 10 day trip around Thailand and although all were brilliant it was easy for us to say that Salad Beach was the best. The highlight for me was probably the friendly, helpful and playful staff that really made an effort to accomodate you and make you feel welcome. The location of salad beach is fantastic too, a very quiet picturesque beach away from all the chaos of Haad Rin although still easy enough to get a taxi to and from the FMP which was reasonably priced and easy to book through the hotel. Our room was imaculate and presented at a very high standard with all the facilities we needed. The resort was maintained beautifully, everywhere was very tidy, the Thai people seem to be constantly sweeping. Due to overbooked ferries to Koh Tao we had to stay an extra night at Salad beach which actually came as a blessing as the resort was such a lovely place to be. If planning on hitting the FMP dont worry about being close to Haad Rin, Salad beach is on the opposite side of the island, beautifully remote but not isolated and its still easy enough to get to Haad Rin by taxi.
If staying on Koh Phangan, stay at Salad Beach.
Would recomend it for anyone.
Cant wait to go back!!!

We stayed here in March 2008 for 10 days (was only meant to be 5) and LOVED it!!!! I have been meaning to write a review for so long. We are 2 Kiwis and after pre-organising our accommodation in Bangkok, we arrived on the island and could not believe how terrible the hotel we had booked was, so cancelled straight away, hopped on a scooter and explored, then we found Salad Beach - same price as other hotel but so wonderful!!!!!!! We will come back again some day.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the pool and it was lovely!!!

We stayed in this resort in a hotel room for couple of nights in February. It is a nice place - has nice interior and exterior, nice pool and very nice view over the sea. The restaurant is very close to the sea so you can enjoy your meals/drinks with a really good view. The room was clean with fresh towels, safety box and everything it should have.
What I didnt like though was the service. There was one long haired male receptionist who was very unpleasant and impolite. When talking to us he would constantly look somewhere else, he seemed bored and even bothered when asked for something. Once we asked him if he could fix the internet as it didnt work for almost a day. In response to this he took out his tablet and showed us that his internet worked fine while he was connected to a different network . End of discussion. When we insisted that our connection was not working he lied to us saying that he had already done something with the wifi router to fix it.
The restaurant staff was a little better but several times we felt uncomfortable - breakfast buffet was empty and being tided up 15 minutes before the end of breakfasts, we were forced to finish up one of our diners quickly because apparently the restaurant was closing (not even at 10pm). Another time when we came for a meal, got the menu and were starred at until we made our choice. If a waiter felt like waiting for too long we would start clicking with his pen and dragging his feet to hurry us up a little.
If I look at the price they charged us per a room/night I would certainly imagine the staff treating us a lot better and with respect. It is not worth the money.

Ther wife and I spent 4 nites here had a bungalow by the pool, the room was perfect, clean had everything you could need. The restaurant was right on the beach, great food!!!, the waiters, which we got to know a little bit were from Burma and they were all fantastic, when we go back to Thailand we will be staying here without question. I can't imagine anyone not liking this place!

Room Tip: The ones around the pool are really nice.

A group of 6 of us (3 couples) travelled around and stumbled across this gem of a place. We had a look at a few of the rooms, settled on 3 haggled a price (about £20 a night) and booked for 4 nights. Easily could have stayed longer.
The rooms were really comfortable, king size bed, good mattreses and linen, nice bathrooms...very nice.
The massages were amazing to think we pay more than 5 times that much in England, us girls got a massage every day.
The pool was really nice, especially when the beach is high tide. We even went in the pool at night as the evenings were so hot.
The restaurant is very nice, breakfast was good. Nice selection and omelettes made if you ask. Although the fruit was so tasty I was happy with that and a cup of tea. We ate on the terrace with the beach and sea right there. It couldn't get any more picturesque.
The 'my way' bar right next door is really nice for evenings if you like to chill out with a cocktail on the hammocks. And not too far down was really nice bar with a pool table and library of books!
It really is off the beaten track and definitely would need a taxi to get anywhere.
The food shop right at the front has everything you need and flip flops and stuff like that.
In the hotel there's a really nice wooden structure right in the middle of the trees and nature, and we went there in the evening to play cards which was really nice.
Overall a beautiful place. We'd go there again (as soon as we've saved up for flights again!!)
