We had the beach front bungalow which is really lovely if you want a bit more peace than the ones by the pool. It felt very private and had a beautiful view of the bay. The resort it's self is very clean and tidy, the rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels and Ben linen. There are a number of local shops and a cash point only a 2 min walk away. We where a family of 3 taking our young daughter with us, so the only problem with our room was the lack of space to put our clothes. The room had one wardrobe with 4 hangers so most of our stuff got stacked on some small shelves. Also if your after more authentic Thai food I would definitely venture out away from the restaurant on site. Apart from that we would stay here again without hesitation as its so beautiful.

Room Tip: Go for the beach front bungalow they are fantastic !

We arrived in koh phagnan with no accommodation booked and headed out to haad salad villa . I was appauled by the beach bungalow bathroom and had to find an alternative place to stay . 2 doors down and thank god ! The staff at reception are super friendly . Our standard bungalow was clean with a rock wall designed bathroom , western style ! They provided commercial toilet paper dispensers and this was so welcoming . I have no idea why Thai hotels cheap out on their paper supply but this resort did not . The grounds are well maintained and the pool area although busy with families during the day was a welcome haven for couples at night . You can rent kayaks from here or book a water taxi to wherever you wanted to go on the island . They helped us with our transport to koh samui which is quite reasonable . Dining on the beach at nite was a great feature . You literally are at the waters edge with candle light setting the mood .,the beach was clean and great for snorkeling too . Only recommendation is that they increase their restaurant staff service . Meals were okay but try jay jays Italian restaurant just up from the resort , within reggae village ( great value for money ( their pizza , sandwiches and salads are great ) .
Overall a lovely stay !

Room Tip: Ask for a discount for more than 2 nights stay .

We are a family of 5 and we stayed in two of the bungalows next to the pool.
The pro's:
The staff is excellent. You immediately feel that the staff especially at the restaurant, simply enjoy what they do. They joke and smile, and just puts you in a good mood. Making pancakes for children at breakfast is a show in itself. First time my 8 year old had a dinasaur shaped pancake.
The bungalows are nice enough (perhaps slightly tired), nice pool, excellent beach but be aware that the whole of the bay is affected by the tide. The water is very shallow, great for children, but if you want to swimming and/or snorkling prepare for a walk.
The garden is very well kept, The food very nice and cheap.

The con's:
It seems that Koh Phangan has developed their own logic when it comes to taxi transport. All charges are per head. So if you are 1 person requiring transport to the next town it will be 200 baht. If you squeeze in 10 persons to the same taxi, it will be 2000 baht. Annoying if you are many unless you order a taxi per person.
The resort feels slighty isolated. If you like to be able to walk to nearby facilities, like shops and other restaurants, you will be rather restricted. Then again, the small resort provides almost everything you wish for including massage, diving school etc, and most other places on Kho Phangan are like Salad Beach - slightly isolated.

When looking for a place to stay in Thailand, Salad Beach Resort should be on your list. The location is serene and beautiful, the staff are very friendly, ever so accommodating and best of all the rooms are a perfect balance comfort and cleanliness. Everything you could need for a great holiday is here. My favourite parts, the pool is always open, the sun deck has ample beds, the breakfast is buffet style and open till 10am. Some visitors feel that the beach is not swimmable, but i beg to differ. right from the beachfront you wade in and swim all day long, though it is best at high tide. When that is over you can sit back and have dinner served to you while the surf laps gently at your toes.

The rooms are clean and fresh linens are brought to you daily. The view we had looked out over the garden and off towards the beach. Each night we got to see a wonderful sunset from our room, the pool and the restaurant. Food was a good value and again the staff where very accommodating to our requests for spicy foods.

Clean, comfortable, warm and well located. Go book a room now!

Lovely room with nice bathroom and balcony. Right on a beach (non swimable!), with everything you need for relaxation... Massage, restaurants, minimart, scooter hire (go to JayJays). Friendly staff and lovely pool area. Only thing... Woke up with bites.wasn't sure if bed bugs as spoke to other guests who didn't have same problem. Put fresh mint under sheets and that did the trick anyhow!

Would return for a chilled time, excellent value. The pick you up from boat for free, if book ahead. Tip:  only book 1 night on agoda, then negotiate that price, minus the fees when there.
