My family stayed at two sea view pool villas for only two nights before heading to Samui Island. It was a lovely, quiet and one of the most relaxing hideaway. Staff are really attentive, friendly and polite. Breakfast is loaded with varieties of food and fruits. Lunch at the pool bar along the beach front was absolutely fantastic; the food and the juices were sooooo good. This open air bar allows you to feel the breeze, hear the crashing waves and lying down on a long cushion while waiting for food.

I highly recommend taking a massage at the spa here. It was indeed a real treat after sunbathing. Make sure you make a booking! They do the manicure and pedicure too in the open air balcony at this facility. You will feel asleep so easily while sitting there.

Big rocks form a natural wall at the beach for this property. However, there is a narrow path you can walk up and down the rocks to get to another beach and then to the so-called "restaurant area". There are not that many restaurants but it is a good experience even just to explore the area or dine at some restaurant.

Santhiya has its own private beach with limited sports facilities making it a great place for a true relaxing hideaway.

It is really nice to stay here. If you are looking for somewhere private and not many people, I suggest this resort. It is very quiet with private beach. Staffs are very nice and well perform. With the villa type, you will have your own pool, which is real cool ;) Gotta save up some more to make it another time.

Room Tip: Choose Villa that is not close to the shuttle route, so you can have more privacy.

This hotel was lovely and we really enjoyed our time here and lovely staff but not worth the money we paid. we were collected at the port by the santhiya hotel and the driver didnt say one word to us but the drive there was an experince seeing elephants as you are driving to the hotel ok yeah the road is very bumpy and steep but what do you expect from from in being in the middle of the jungle. fast check in and friendly staff. We had a swim up pool room very nice and quiet until some children turned up and started messing around and having a family next door to us with a child that just kept crying. the bathroom is lovely...... food was lovely, had a bbq night which was nice . the view from the hotel over the beach is stunning, we walked across the beach every night to the small village and ate there - some lovely resturants along the beach and in the village.

Although it took a flight, boat ride and taxi to get there, it was well worth it for a truly relaxing break. Located in a little village we had eaten at every restaurant after 6 nights! There are 90% honeymooners here. It is a beautiful resort with ornate thai wood carvings. The rooms are amazing, with spectacular views. I was slightly disappointed when we were in a block of rooms rather than a villa, as there are only 2 blocks there, but it was still lovely! The breakfast has lots of choice, but we didnt eat any other meals there as its quiet expensive. We climbed over the rocks to the right of the resort, and either ate on the beach or in the village, which can be reached by turning right at Beach club.
The beach is lovely, but we also loved going to longtail resort on Yai beach which is the next one along. Its a small resort, which is so picturesque, and the beach is nicer over there.
We went for cocktails at Beach Club every night during happy hour. We enjoyed going to Luna for dinner the most. We had massages every day at Tanaporn, which was so cheap and relaxing. The owner is english so gave us lots of tips on places to go.
We got the ferry there, and the speed boat back. I would highly recommend this, its so much fun and worth every penny, as it means you dont have to get a taxi across the island.
We loved Thong Nai Pan, if you want to relax and just go for a bit of a wander during the day this is the place to stay, Santhiya is beautiful, the only thing I would say is that after 6 nights I felt ready for somewhere with more to do and enjoyed Koh Samui for that.

The property is quite far from the Sala pier and well suited for honeymooners or leisure seekers far away from the crazy full moon party crowd. I was staying for 3 nights and booked through another sales channel than their website.

Positive
* authentic lanna thaistyle property with lots of wood in the middle of the nature
* operational service staff (cleaner, cook, room service...) quite friendly trying to make an effort
* prices through other than the website booking channel comparably low (up to 55%)

Negative
* food quality among the worst I have ever tasted in a 4* resort. Seafood BBQ is not fresh (food was waved) and the buffet types didn't vary. we spoke to locals and they confirmed that the food is not always fresh and not prepared fresh. breakfast selection was comprehensive, however cheese was not preserved well and there were lots of ants nibbling at the buffet too. in addition many birds occupied the breakfast room and this can turn out quite bothersome. we found some dead birds on the way to the breakfast too.
* All prices seen in the resort were quoted as "++", adding ~20% on everything consumed in the resort. I found it really bothering to do the calculation every time. I know a bunch of other resorts that quote net prices which relaxes the mind on a holiday.
* Spa was at totally inflated hotel prices. Comparing a 1h foot massage for 1800THB at the resort to a net price of 400 at Tanaporn’s massage house in the village I wonder what would justify a price multiple of 4.5. Massage services in the village were quite alright.
* Transportation service from Thong Sala Pier for 1500THB was about 50% more expensive than offered transportation of people from the village and they even had the better car?!
* Room categories are hold very intransparent. A hideaway pool villa differs from the sea view pool villa by the amount of trees planted in front of the pool. There were some hideaway villas which had partial ocean view too. The provided map of the resort also doesn't indicate clear differentiation of room types.
* low customer orientation from the front desk after problems with a hotel voucher. despite i was told that i could stay in the room i checked in i had to pay an unjustified "upsell" charge by the time of checkout... at local hotel price (about ~80EUR). no interest of an amicable agreement but rather ripping off the customer.
* photo which was promised by the time of checkin was not taken
* thai-speaking capability of all service staff not given and very low amount of local guests
* beach is rather rocky and not soft sandy as the beach next door is (Anantara....)

In general, the only point to choose this resort is its location and the lanna design. Since all kinds of services were much better outside compared to the resort I don't see the point in staying there. 3 days were long enough.

Room Tip: Some hideaway pool villas have partial view on the ocean too.

Dear mattsmithers,
We wish to advise we are always very grateful and honor to all the comments that our guests take their time to write about us on the Tripadvisor, We take those constructive feedbacks to constantly improve our products and services.
As for your comments, we strongly believe that you wrote and posted those unfair/unconstructive comments because you were angry with us when we found out that one of the vouchers you presented to us on checking in was the “fake” voucher. We then asked you to pay the additional cost, and you had to move the room. So this feedback is totally unfair to us – we would say we were “rip off” by the fake voucher you presented on checking in!
Kind regards,
