I have stayed in luxury resorts all over the world but nothing compares to Santhiya. A private pool free of people & their kids & other travellers is simply priceless! The staff are amazing, as is the food & service. It is hard to fault.

After spending an amazing 10 days on Samui we were afraid that we would be let down on our 2nd part of our honeymoon.
Thankfully, our worries were instantly whisked away upon arrival!

We chose the speedboat transfer from Samui, and we are very happy we did. The view of the resort upon arrival is simply stunning.
The very friendly and lovely Nuna showed us to our hideaway villa after a welcome from the manager, our villa was absolutely amazing! The villa had been decorated with countless flowers and towel-art, as well as a special honeymoon cake - yum.
We quicky realised that we have arrived at our very private heaven on earth!

The service and attention to detail is impeccable, we can truly not fault anything about this wonderful resort. I managed to loose one of my pearl earrings (studs) between the floorboards on the patio, and could not see any way of getting underneath the patio, so i gave the matching stud to the reception with a description of where it fell through, 10 minutes after both my earrings were back in my ears - now thats what I call efficiency and service!

The breakfast was amazing, as was the BBQ buffet (highly reccomended), we loved the quietness of the beach, but did venture over the rocks to the neighbouring beach - which had the softest sand and clearest waters i have seen in a long time.

We were suprised over how quick and painless the walk over the rocks was, certain reviewers are really not used to moving, as the path was wide and well-lit, no trouble at all! The village is well worth a visit, and offer amazing food for a fraction of the price.
We were pleasently suprised by the room service prices, yes they are pricier then the local village, but they are really not that bad.

Thank you Santhiya for an amazing stay, and a very memorable end to our honeymoon, we will definately come back!

Santhiya resort completely exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed for nine nights in a sunset pool villa with views of the sea and it was sensational. From the minute we arrived to the time we left we were treated as if we were the only two people there, our entire stay was nothing short of blissful. A special mention to the front office manager Mary-Jane. She made it her personal mission to solve an issue with our departing boat transfer that had been not been organised properly in Australia prior to our trip to Thailand. Without her assistance I dont know what we would have done. Thankyou Mary Jane!!
I can honestly say that there is nothing negative to say about our entire experience at Santhiya and cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money on a sunset pool villa, you will not be disappointed!!!

My husband and myself had to make a decision between Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. While reading about both on the internet, we realized that Koh Samui over the time has gained extreme popularity and thus has become overcrowded. On the other hand Koh Phangan is not that popular destination among Indian tourists but is very beautiful with two great resorts - Santhiya and Rasananda. Both of them have great architecture, luxuries, comfort and reviews. We chose Santhiya because we were getting a great deal.
Beyond Awesome is an experience at the resort which is build on a mountain. Private beach with an access to other beaches accompanied by a small walk on the sea rocks. Spa and massages are kind of heritage of entire Thailand and definitely a try. They offer amazing deals on daily basis on Spa. Rooms are just of the world with pools, sea view, small sitting area and rich in their architecture. Vegetarians have lot many options. And no point in saying that it is heaven for sea food.
Both of us are adventure sports freak and we chose to take a mid sea snorkeling, Koh Mah is half an boat ride from resort to the island to provide us flora and fauna experience.
For those who do not like hiking up till the rooms (because the hotel is on the mountain), hotel provides easy car drops anywhere at hotel. This place is just for relaxing and moving around with lots to see, eat at nearby village.
Overall we had just two relaxing nights and will be on our come-back list whenever we get a chance.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are quieter than with forest view or pool view

Having not been to Koh Phangan for 16 years, we were delighted by the exceptional standard of the Santhiya resort. It is run at a high level and the staff and attention to detail are excellent. We were lucky enough to have a two level suite at the very top of the resort with its own private pool. We felt very spoilt and our two boys (age 12 and 13) loved it too. We enjoyed spending time at the room as much as at the beach and main pool. Even when it rained all day we didn't care because it was such a delight to hang out in the room. The food was good, but avoid the Western selections as the Thai food is obviously far better! Loved reminiscing by taking a long boat round to Bottle Beach. The island has changed and developed but still feels unspoilt and is just so beautiful. The wooden cars that run you around the resort were always very prompt so never a problem being one of the farthest rooms from the restaurants and pool.

Room Tip: The rooms at the top of the hill have the best views and are more open and less shaded.

The Santhyia is a nice hotel. We took the sea view suit with a pool and the room was comfortably large . (2 adults + 2 kids)
Breakfast was really nice with wide selection.
Unfortunately there are downsides you should consider- First, The hotel is located on a cliff and there it is not that comfortable to get to the beach .
Also, if you want to go to the near small (very very small) village, you need to walk about 10 minutes on the beach sand- don't forget to take a flash light - we bumped into a "nice" snake in the rocks you need to cross on the way.
The beach next to the hotels is MUCH nicer, probably the most beautiful beach I've been at- so, we were not staying at the Hotel's beach at all.
Take into consideration that food in the hotel is relatively expensive and that restaurants in the village has wonderful food and cheap.
In general for this Koh Pangan area- Take into consideration that this is a romantic hidden place- if you are here with teenagers- they have nothing to do around. traveling to the nearest place is expensive.
Room- take into consideration that the whole bathroom - shower, toilets, sink - are all under the sky with no roof.... I didn't find it comfortable (although some of the spiders did...)
I can't say it is a poor hotel- but not a luxury one as we expected. Unless we took the 2+1 deal- I think it does not worth the money.

As two young female travellers we were very impressed with how the staff made as feel extremely welcome, in particular Nuna who went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. She was also a great help when we had transfer troubles with our own travel agent.
The staff even went as far as checking our whereabouts on an evening when we failed to return to the hotel after the Full Moon party.
The restaurant facilities at this hotel are lovely and what made it even better was the great service from the likes of Mel. He was an excellent waiter and made our dining experience all the more special.
We stayed in the Deluxe room thanks to a free upgrade from reception and wow what a room! The views were spectacular and we had the best nights sleep ever.
We would definitely recommend staying at this hotel as words can't describe how beautiful it is!
