The staff are very nice and perched on a steep hillside there is a magnificent view of the ocean and Samui. Unfortunately the room had ants all over the place, the bed was hard and collapsing and rotten wood lined the balcony. On further inspection of the cracks in the suspended concrete floor, it appears to have collapsed previously, still bowing underneath it has been simply refilled with cement. This combined with the Funicular railway used to access the rooms and the steep moss covered stairs make the place feel very unsafe. The location is quite far from Haad Rin and there is rarely transport available, forcing you to walk on the highway through steep terrain. Feral cats meow for food while you try to eat although the food and service is fine. As with anywhere, avoid pre-payment for accomodation.

the hotel is located on a mountain and to get to the rooms you have to take an elevator which is very slow and sometimes does not work, otherwise you can walk up the stairs tired and down.
the hotel has a very good sea view, the rooms have details that make it look ugly.
breakfast is very simple and tasteless.
The hotel staff are friendly and try to help.
The internet did not work any of the days that I was staying.
if I had to go to the same place would choose another hotel.

Me, my partner and another couple stayed here for the full moon party. and we were all very disappointed! The pool was semi green, being unsure to get in it but to hot not to. bed was very uncomfortable along with the pillows, i sleeped on a jumper we had as it was better. we had spiders and bugs in the room, i was to scared to sleep incase they crawled in my ears (haha) the restrurant looked to dodge to eat at. and when we went to leave, they tried to freaken charge us for things we didnt even use, we were in a hurry and they were mucking us around we did not have time to fight with them so we paid it and got on our way, and they wouldnt even call us a taxi, so we had to wave someone down on the road. we stayed in a vary of places in our time in thailand and this one being around a 4 star i would rate as a 2 - the two star we stayed it was better then this. we will not stay here on again when we return. only thing is, yes you can walk to the full moon party in about 30mins

I absolutely loved this hotel. When I booked online to stay at Blue Hill, I didn’t know what to expect when i got there, but it did not disappoint. I stayed there in July with a mate for the full moon party, and it was the best decision to stay there. Its location is quiet and chilled with amazing views and its pretty close to Haad Rin for the full moon party. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are brilliant. Nothing beats waking up in the morning, stepping out onto your balcony and having an awesome view of the sea.

Loved it and I’m definitely going back.

Room Tip: Just be sure to state clearly which room and how many beds you want.

Had the best time at blue hill, stayed for the full moon party and wanted something a bit up market to stay away from the “bogans”.
Beautiful beach and the most amazing view.
The room service was brilliant as most days we were too hung over to leave the room.

We decide to stay here for 3 nights but extended it to a week. The rooms are decent (nothing special) we found a few ants and the telephone was near broken.

The balcony/terrace has a table and 2 chairs and a great view of Koh Samui (opposite island) and the beach. In the morning it's low tide and you can see people fishing.

The water in the shower doesn't get too hot and the bathrobe given doesn't even belong to the hotel.

You can rent motorbikes at reception for 200baht a day. It's 5 minute drive to Haad Rin and 20 minutes the opposite way to the night market.

You've got a decent refrigerator no safety deposit in the room, a desk with a tv and candles for when power cuts out durin a storm (happened once during our stay).

The restaurant is quiet and the food is good. There is a pool table available too.

PLEASE BE AWARE that if you want a double bed you have to specify during the booking. Even though it shows pictures on the site or there is no option to choose between twin and double, you have to specify. My bf and I were given a twin on the first night and told that we should have asked for one when we booked. We made it clear that there wasn't an option available and it SAYS on agoda Double Bed. We changed rooms the next day - It's just annoying having to repack everything.

The wood on the balcony is of poor quality and doesn't seem to be very stable. The 'elevator' is old but still in tact.

Overall we enjoyed it but didn't spend too much time at the hotel.

You will never know what is in store for you when you get there. The ride up was long and hilly. the lobby and restaurant was simple. The room is simple and cosy, with a nice bathroom and comfortable beds. The sea view from the room is just heavenly.
Waking up early to the cold breeze was just awesome, having lunch or dinner on the balcony overlooking the beautiful sea and sunset was just priceless.
The experience of taking the short tram from the lobby to rooms or the swimming pool was delightful.
The only thing is, the hotel is far away from the town.
