4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

My girlfriend booked this online and we were very satisfied with our choice of accommodation here. They were very well organized and friendly, and many services they offered were free (such as wifi, free fruit, breakfast included, snorkeling gear, bug spray, etc.). They were able to solve many problems for us, and even book us tickets to other islands and to the train station in Surat Thani.

There were some ants in our bed when we arrived and they were able to eradicate them almost immediately (not sure how). The restaurant was decent, but ordering breakfast is pretty confusing. Very good for a breakfast included place though.

The pool is great and well maintained with a fantastic view of the ocean. There were very few people around when we were there despite the hotel being booked full, so we were often in the pool alone. It's open late so you can make use of it often.

If you're interested in snorkeling and aren't into scuba or expensive day trips, rent a kayak or motorbike for the day and get to Mae Haad beach about 10km north of Sunset Cove. With free snorkeling gear from the hotel, you can easily experience a beautiful coral reef, connected beach island, and see many tropical fish. Apparently there are sometimes sea turtles here, but perhaps we weren't quite in the right area.

Room Tip: It's probably quieter away from the pool area, but all the rooms seem equally nice.

From the second we arrived to the sad moment that we had to depart.. the good people at sunset cove provided us with some amazing memories that we'll never forget. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The rooms were always kept in pristine condition, this was a really chilled out place to stay. We were in Koh Phangan for Christmas, Full Moon and New Years (9 days in total) and Sunset Cove was the perfect place to hide away from all of the madness on Hadrin Beach. When I next go back to Thailand I will be staying at the sunset cove. Its perfect for families or for young people looking for some relaxation.

Room Tip: Ring ahead to find out which room will suit your needs, they will offer good advice over the phone..

A great place to stay on this island, a little bit out of the way (this place is the other side of the island to the party beach of haad rin, but well worth the extra time and cash to stay here. The little bungalows are clean, spacious and well furnished, the infinity pool and bar area is gorgeous, with very good food and the view is just spectacular.

Sunset Cove is a truly beautiful place to stay. We stayed in one of the more basic rooms but this was absolutely fine as it was clean with a huge bed and a lovely shower. We spent all day by the pool anyway never tiring of the beautiful views of the infinity pool and the sea. Being right on the beach means you're only a walk away from a couple of really decent beach bars but it is much more quiet in comparison to some of the other more raucous areas of the island.

The food in the hotel is good and cheap but there is also a lovely Italian just down the beach if you're looking for something different and romantic - a bit more pricey though.

The staff are more than helpful and even have a 4x4 for transfers to other places on the island and the ferry port.

We loved it here and am gutted to have only had 2 days! Wish we could've stayed for longer.

This place is just sensational.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced.
It isn't right next door to the local shops but if you hire scooters everything is within less than 5 minutes.
The peace and quite is worth it.
15 mins to Thom Sala and 40 mins to Had Rin on scooters so you can easily go shopping or party if you desire.
There is lots of little bars and restaurants within walking distance along the beach if you want a bit of variety.

I will definately visit this place again.
Ideal for a relaxing break

This was one of 5 resorts that we stayed in whilst in Thailand and was my favourite. The setting is excellent with a spectacular pool that offers some of the best sunset viewing around. The staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you want to relax and get away from the madness of Haad Rin...this is the answer.

Second stay on koh phangan and third hotel there. Without a doubt the best of the bunch. This hotel had great food at very fair prices, a location right on the beach, amazing service from all the staff and very comfortable rooms (as well as a selection of free dvds and books). Staff happily assisted our group with preparation for the full moon party (including assisting with body painting and transport). Has a pretty average fitness centre. But this isn't even an amenity we were aware of and, in realit, should be considered a bonus!

Room Tip: Some rooms have bathrooms which are somewhat outside. Might pay to avoid these as bugs can get in q...
