“Lovely resort :)”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

Came here after leaving a horrible resort early and it was lovely, great facilities and beautiful location, private beach, friendly staff, great food in the restaurant, we stayed in the cheapest rooms and they were very nice, only bad thing is tht there were lots of hills to get up and down to get to the resort and it was quite far from the main beach. Plus you could only get wifi in the bar area

Beautiful resort - rooms are spectacular compared to what we've been used to. Clean beds and many towels provided. Buffet breakfast ends too early. The food at the resort is rather pricy and you can get better food for cheaper on the streets nearby. The wifi is TERRIBLE!! you would think for paying so much the wifi would work perfectly in the lobby - but no. And no wifi in rooms also.

Great resort very comfortable and luxurious rooms
The staff was very friendly and helpful
The food was excellent
Wonderful pool and quiet private beach also in a great location 5 minutes walk from the center and main beach although there is no need to leave the resort since it meets all needs.
waiting to come back again in the future

Room Tip: should get the upgraded rooms near the pool and beach worth every thai baht

Cocohut is a very nice hotel.
+ perfect location. Very close to haad rin, but still away from it's noise
+ beautiful sunsets during winter months. During summertime the sun drops right behind the hill, but if you go to the other end of the beach, you'll be able to see it in a perfectly romantic kind of way :)
+ the beach itself is very beautiful, although u cannot swim there most of the time. We've been there twice in january and in june. In june the tide is so low that it makes the place unswimable. In January, as far as i remember, the water is high, but it still isn't enough for comfortable swimming
+ lot's of animals around. We saw giant lizards ( around 1m in length).

- breakfasts are the same day after day from 8 to 10 am, which is too early and unfair.
- cleaning is unsatisfactory. I had to talk to manager twice to get our bed sheets finally ( after one week of stay) changed. Towels are old.
-air conditioner was placed in a perfect place to blow us away during nighttime. Was hard to sleep, cuz it was hot in the room but aircon blew right at our necks. The only way to sleep was to use pareos as scarfs )))
- wifi in room -300 bt/day

Anyway, the hotel was clean and we loved to stay there. Will recommend it, if anyone asks ;)

The cocohut resort is located in Haad Rin on the beautiful Leela beach and a 5-10 minute from the full moon party. We stayed there in off season and not in a full moon party week. The beach and location itself is beautiful, however the staff seemed bored and not interested in any interaction with guest at all. The service was bad and you easily sit as the only guest in an empty restaurant without being asked if you want to order within 20 min. The bungalow itself was nice and clean, but we got more the 20 mosquito bites each in the first night. Buying a spray by ourselves only slightly improved the bite count in the second night. The spa was very nice and has all necessities for a great experience including beach view. However, being asked if want to upgrade from a Thai massage to an oil massage twice during the massage was not helping to relax. Overall is the hotel a good place as long as you are not expecting to much of service. Being two of only around 15-20 guest during our stay might have been the reason for a bored staff. The staff outnumbered the guests during our stay. Internet is only available in the restaurant, but not in the bungalows.

Love this hotel. Initially had a problem with a booking via late rooms but check in staff did what they could to resolve but at a cost to us! Junior suite was amazing, room 501 ... Great location, size and great amenities. Staff were super nice and the distance to the beach was seconds!! Would absolutely return to this hotel for a future stay just wouldn't book it via late rooms. Food was good, room cleaning was great, pool and pool bar were excellent , overall a great stay here. Location to Haadrin was perfect, literally a 3-4 minute walk to all restaurants, bars and beach bars. Perfect if you want peace and tranquility during the day but quick and easy access to some night life etc in the evenings. You can organise any day trips , boat tickets etc from hotel also. We availed of the laundry service and clothes came back spotless and smelling divine. If you can't decide where to stay in koh phangan ..stay here in a junior suite, room 501 ...you won't regret it!! Ps air con was fab as were the fruit shakes :) and joker and rest of staff thank you for a fabulous stay !!

Stayed five nights here in the revered Haad Rin (five minute walk from the beach).

This place was a great find.
Throughly recommend this for anyone staying near the omnipresent full-moon.

Great value for money, pool, floating pier for a point of difference, and the food was pretty good.
