The location of the house was good, only a few steps from the beach. On arrival we were taken to the Phangan Beach Resort which is a few minutes walk from the house. We were booked in with the resort as they seem to deal with all your needs more than the owner of the property. Our luggage was taken to the house by the resort staff and we were also taken to the house(short walk along the beach)by the resort staff. The resort also offered free use of their safe and also all amenities of the site were available for your use. We would like to thank the management and all their staff for making our stay very welcoming and comfortable and definitely recommend the resort as a great place to stay on the island of Koh Phangan. We were a bit disappointed with the house we rented, the towel rails in the bathroom were all loose also the shower head. The television did not work. The entrance to the house had tiles attached to the posts up the steps which were all loose, curtains did not fit patio doors properly and were old and dirty, the whole house was not really clean. There is a brochure in the house which the resort staff do tell you to read as it contains all the info you need to know about your stay. In it it tells you that to have your house cleaned which includes changing and washing the bedding and towels(only 1 bath towel per person per week)costs 800thb(approx. 20 pounds) per week. Before we booked this house we asked if there where any extra costs and was only told about the electric at 1kw = 7thb. As we were going for 1 month we were prepared to clean the house ourselves and go to the laundry with the bedding and towels but the duvet that was on the bed does not have a separate cover that you can take off to wash it is sewed onto the duvet so would be quite heavy to launder. We asked if we could just have a top sheet to put under the duvet making the laundry easier to do but they do not have them in Thailand apparently. We got beach towels 1 per person but at least we could change them any time at the resort. So as we were getting annoyed with it all we opted for paying the 800thb per week and get on with enjoying our holiday. We met the owner of the property 2 day later and told her all our problems so she arranged for us to move next door saying that that house was better condition and she would be able to get the repairs done in the one we were in. After one week we had a look at the other house and yes things were fitter a little better but the television also did not work and she told us she had been in contact with the tv company and they promised to come everyday(they eventually turned up in our second week). So we moved into the next house which still the curtains were dirty and did not fit the patio door also where they had been pulled so much the curtain rings had come away from the curtains. The toilet lid did not stay up we fitted a carrier bag around the lid to hold it up, the owner knew about this but had tried a few things to fix the lid but still did not tell us about it, it was when we mention the problem to her that she said she was still trying to have it repaired. The posts on the outside steps fell apart where all the wood had rotted. These houses need a good renovation to improve the standards and quality. The cost of electric is not cheap or the meters in Thailand must go round faster than in England as we paid 16 pounds for the month that's only using the shower, 1 hot plate and the fridge, we run our whole house for less that than.
location. House is not right on the beach, but almost on the beach :) just few steps.
you can use sun beds in the hotel nearby.
not far away from supermarket and massages.
the reception (keys) is in hotel quite away from the house. So you need take a taxi to transport your luggage to the house by coming back to the main road and take other turn, or carry them through the beach/sand because there is no path to the house from the reception.
