My boyfriend and i stayed at Ivory in December. We had a great stay there. The first night they had us stay in a downstairs room, which was nice, but there is a kitchen behind the bathroom and it sounds like the kitchen is actually IN the bathroom.
The next 2 nights we were moved upstairs to the Bua room, which was great.
It was a very quiet hotel, even though its on a busy street, and the staff was great and speaks wonderful english. They cleaned our room well every day. They also provided us with beach towels which was great so we didnt have to buy them. Ivory is in a great location right in the middle of Phi Phi. But, everything in Phi Phi is in walking distance since it is such a tiny place.

The only negative thing to say is that they advertise a restaurant, but their restaurant isnt used anymore. The family that owns the hotel sits in the restaurant area all day and they have a play pen set up for their baby. So really the "restaurant" is just a childcare room. This isnt a big deal because there are 10 restaurants within 20 yards of the place, but I just dont think they should advertise that they have a restaurant, when there isnt one.

We were happy with our stay at Ivory, especially after some of the Phi Phi horror stories we read. The room and bathroom were attractive and clean, if small. The location is central, with some great food stalls just across the street. It is expensive for what you get...but I guess that's normal for Phi Phi. We were willing to pay a bit more for cleanliness.

This hotel was so lovely, clean and fresh (a relief from our last one). The rooms are really nicely decorated, although very western. Staff were so helpful and were happy for us to leave our luggage and lend us towels for the beach. Its fairly expensive for Thailand but quite reasonable for Phi Phi. The location was great too, not too far from the harbor or main beach and lots of hustle and bustle. Highly recommended.

Felt quite disappointed with Ivory after reading previous positive reviews. I think this may be reflective of prior accommodation on Phuket. After paying 700baht in Phuket, for a hotel right on the bars, with a balcony and a room that was huge (and very very clean) i felt robbed by paying so much. The room was extremely small, very noisy morning noon and night, with building work and also other guests. It was also covered in tiny little ants on the wall (Nothing in bed, on floor however). Dont want to be too negative as i understand that the overall standard of accomodation on Phi Phi is not great, but this i have been told is because of the disastrous tsunami which the island hasnt completely recovered from yet. The location is perfect -very close to some nice restaurants and a few bars. Cleanliness was also a positive, cleaned daily.

It was my first time to Phi Phi Island. We booked a twin-single room for a night at Ivory through the internet for 1,000BHT.

Location: less than 15minute walk from the jetty, near the Tsunami Evacuation Centre (TEC), 10 minutes walk to the beach filled with clubs, parts next door, food stalls right in front, basically it was a very strategic location. I love this area, next to the TEC as compared to the other more "modern" part of Phi Phi.

Room: it was the standard rate in Phi Phi island for a decent room. Albeit, it might be small, but we were hardly inside anyway. Room came with an attach shower - and take note that the water is salty (sea water?) that comes our from the shower. There seemed to be some blockage in the shower as water did not seem to drain out fast enough. That was not much of a problem for us though. However, there were some brown spots on one side of my pillow case. I had no fuss about it either as I just crashed on the bed after a long night out partying.

Service: family-run place. Guy at the reception is friendly. They have a pet dog around too. Their very cute baby girl was lying on a mat in the room next door.

We booked a half-day snorkeling trip from the guesthouse at 300BHT each. We stumbled upon a few places offering the same package for 250BHT. For convenience sake, we don't really mind the extra 50BHT as we were only in Phi Phi for one night, didn't really have time to scout around.

Free WiFi, password is changed every evening so you need to get the new password from the reception.

Safe place - we were sitting outside on the steps till wee hours in the morning, drinking and talking. It was really quiet in the area, with maybe only a handful of locals and tourists walking pass.

Overall, I will definitely recommend this place and stay here again the next time I am in Phi Phi. It is advisable to make your reservation online before you arrive as it was full despite it being an off-peak season.

Ivory is very good for the money you pay. It isn't a 5 star hotel - no and it doesn't have too much luxuries, but if you don't expect that when going to Phi Phi, then you're in the right place. The rooms are not too big, but we managed just fine with two people and too large suitcases. The rooms look lovely and are clean and neat. The location is good, there's shopping and food and bars nearby. It can be a bit noisy as the walls are really thin (or maybe it's the doors), but have your earplugs with you and you're fine. The best part though is the staff!! They are amazing, so helpful and always smiling and funny and happy and just perfect! Yuki is super!! The food in the cafe/restaurant is good too, we tried a few different things and were never disappointed.

Room Tip: Notice the smiley faces on the toasts ;)

I was an volunteer in Thailand for 6 months doing comunity service and I was just so ready for my best friend to come and just relax and party it up in Koh Phi Phi so I did a little research on some guesthouses down on the island and got super frustrated. either they were really expensice of people left bad reviews about them ... in the end I was just getting really confused and decided to just hope to get a lucky one with my reservation at the Ivory and I would definitely not get disappointed!!! Me and my best friend had such an amazing time there, the staff is super friendly and helps with whatever they can ( booking farries, internet access codes etc etc!), the location is just fantasic (we meet quite a lot of other travelers who were staying at some guesthouses up on the hill which was according to them a torture since they litterally had to climb up the hill at night!) the Ivory was just like 5 minutes walking distance from the pier where you will arrive and another 2 minutes from the beach and all the nightlife away but still not loud at night (at all !). futhermore you are located at one of the main streets meaning you will have a supermarket (for the drinking ) and all the little dining shops for food right in front of the guesthouse!!!
The only two things that I would like to tell you before which were a little annoying in the begining but trust me you really get used to it after the latest 2 days or so and you wont even think about it any more are; the aircondition is kinda low working meaning its not really refreshing when you come home from a hot day at the beach or a long day at the beach bars and also there is no fridge at the rooms. at least not at ours (Bua room) which wasnt really that bad since as a girl guys will pay for your drinks at the bars anyways so its all good =)

if you consider spending some days at koh phi phi which i will highly recommend(!) you should definitely consider staying at IVORY! Me and my best friend had one of our most amazing memories of Thailand there and we will definitely come back one day...!
