We stayed here shortly before christmas and it was wonderfull!
We had a deluxe treehouse with private beach and it's so very calm due to its distance from the islands village, that you can really relax.
The food at the restaurant is tasty, so are the coctails.
The beach and the water are very clean and we really enjoyed the paths around the resort, although they could be quite dangerous if you're disabled or older (not paved, a lot of roots used as some sort of stairs).
Of course there are a lot of animals, like gekkos and snakes, but hey, you're staying in a bungalow near to a jungle...
The rooms are clean, if you want a cleaning, you have to say so at the reception.

It is a bit long walk to the resort so get a long boat for 100 bath / person (minimum of 2) and go to the viking resort, the place is no exessable for people with bad legs. Amazing tree houses you can already see on the beach. People are Nice, you can see the room before you deside..! We paid 2000 bath per night (orriginal was 2200)

Best place ever !!

Absolutely disgusted with this place.
Initially my friends and I had high expectations - free longtail boat from the pier, relatively budget-friendly, private beach, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff and good food (particularly free dinner tastings). But then came the BED BUGS. I actually didn't even know they were real, but my friends and I have been bitten alive by them and the staff in this resort were supremely UNhelpful and UNapologetic about it all.
Firstly, when my friend discovered them she ran down to reception and a staff member came up to the room. He had absolutely no idea how to handle the situation. He simply wiped the bed and then expected us to be ok with sleeping in it (look up stuff on bed bugs and I assure you, they are a lot harder to get rid of than that!). When we said we were not staying there, he said there was no option of another room until 7am as the manager had gone home. My friends and I slept at reception (which is essentially outside) and outside our cabin in the hammock.
The next morning, the staff argued and argued about compensating us. No apologies were given and no apparent understanding of how bad the situation was (they said it was the first incident of bed bugs and when we asked what they were going to do about them, they said "nothing"!!!). We paid a total of 3,600 Baht for 3 nights. We stayed one night and discovered the bed bugs on the 2nd. They initially offered us a total of 200 Baht refund. We were disgusted. We eventually argued them up to paying 900 Baht and giving us free breakfast. They simply would not budge past that. And that didn't even cover the cost of the next night's stay in another venue, nevermind the emotional trauma of having slept in a bed with those disgusting creatures and then having to wash all our clothes and clean our luggage so that we could get rid of them.
I hope this review helps save someone else from having to go tbrough what we went through.

Room Tip: Beware of bed bugs in cabin C6.

Simply because I'd like to keep it is a secret. This is a gorgeous secluded location on the island of Ko Phi Phi, Is it the most beautiful resort available? no. It's a nature resort and lacks a number of amenities. But what it lacks in function it makes up for in beauty.

I adored it.
Was the food great? No. But they gave you a lovely buffet every night that served as a good enough aperitif until you make it into town to eat.

Was it the cleanest room available? No. But you are in the trees and you get to disconnect from technology (unless you go to the lobby)

Was it a good beach? I'd argue that its secluded location make it an amazing spot. You get privacy!!! And the coconuts delivered to your towel.

Can you get a massage on the beach?
Yes and if you ask for Song (assuming she's still there) your life will forever be improved.

Is it good for kids?
If your children are older…. yes otherwise it is a bit difficult for wee ones.

Is it good for couples?
Absolutely. It's a little high on the "roughing it' scale but its worth it.

Book a stay, if they tell you online they are booked try calling the front desk (more than once) until they tell you are room is open. In our experience they aren't terribly organized about whether or not they have room. Normally after a few phone calls, a room seems to miraculously become freed up.

Also take your bug spray of choice. The common lobby area has a big flea or something problem. I know it sounds gross…….. but honestly the view makes it all worth it.

Also a headlamp for the walk into town if you prefer not to take the boat.

Enjoy your stay! That 4th star is for the Vibe and the View :)

Room Tip: If you want to be close to the water select a beach room… but its a TINY cabin like a hostel. Ask for one of the tree houses which are a bit further up the hill but are really worth it for the view and the seclusion. They'll take your bags up to the room for you. It's all uphill :)

Seriously, it's in the name. Do you want to leave Koh Phi Phi as a freaking viking, or as some kind of wimp who can't last a few days without consistent wifi and fresh towels on your bed?

Went as a couple and stayed in tree hut 3 (grand tree hut). This was after staying at two cleaner, newer hotels in other cities. The tree hut experience was certainly different than those, but by no means could I say simple "better" or "worse".

Pros:

- You're living in a giant tree house with plumbing and electricity
- Private beach is actually pretty nice, not much boat traffic
- The view from the deck was great
- 20 minute walk in to town is not too far, but far enough to feel removed from the main strip. A bit of a trek, but it doesn't hurt to get a little exercise in on vacation, maybe work off one or two of those Long Island iced teas.
- It was a big room. Really big.
- Overall friendly staff
- Boat picks you up from the pier and brings you to the resort
- Meal prices from the restaurant are quite reasonable and the food was good too.
- Same as above, but for drink prices.

Cons:

- Couldn't connect to wifi during our stay, at least not from our room. Really though, you're on vacation and you can check your facebook when you get home or upload pictures to make people jealous from a cafe wifi connection.
- Power went off for a bit once or twice. Called the front desk, they weren't fazed, said it would come back and it did.
- Room was a dark. Lack of lighting, but that could be perceived as romantic too I guess?
- No AC, but the ocean breeze helped, and there was a fan.
- Breakfast was included, but wasn't that great. Not a big deal since it was free and you can go buy a cheap breakfast anywhere in town.

That's about it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, even with some of the quirks. Some people might lodge those as bigger complaints, but there was nothing drastically disruptive or inconvenient, just a little more rustic than some more modern hotels. But again, you're living in a freaking tree next to the ocean, what do you expect?

Room Tip: Tree hut 3 is solid, but tree hut 2 also looks like it has a great view of the beach, and is probably a bit cheaper (and smaller, but still looks big from the outside). Based on the layout, the tree huts are in a good location and spaced out, so you probably can't go wrong picking one of them.
