If you've read other reviews of accommodation in Phi-Phi and compared it to the rest of Thailand then you know that you are going to have to compromise on either price or quality. Accommodation on Phi-Phi is of a lower standard to the rest of Thailand.
The room was 500 baht, basic with a fan, the en-suit was okay but with no warm water. There were lockers available for passports etc at the main Gypsy Village office at the bottom of the hill. These are free and just require a 300 baht deposit.
The location was good being around 10 minuets walk from the centre of Phi-Phi village with all the restaurants and bars, but far enough away that you are no bothered by the noise.
In the late afternoon when we wanted to use the room to shower and change for the evening the place was very hot and we were glad to get out of our room and cool down.
The walls of our room were also covered in the remains of several years of cigarette smoke. However this is the budget end and before going to Phi-Phi we asked several backpackers who'd already been there to recommend somewhere to stay and no one was prepared to recommend their accommodation. So it was still good value for money.More
