“Stunning place, not much to do!”
Reviewed 5 February 2008

Great place to visit but a few warnings.
The beach isn't much good for swimming or snorkelling as even when the tide is in, it's only up to your waist, even when 200 metres out. We thought there would be another beach in easy walking distance but there isn't. You have to use a longtail boat. This is fine for a morning or day out but if you just want to relax and have the occasional snorkel, you can't. Plus if it's low tide getting a boat is easier said than done.
Also, if you are not fit or unsteady on your feet this isn't the place for you. If you arrive at low tide with the wind blowing in the wrong direction getting to the hotel can be quite an adventure, with long walks, much across water up to your knees in baking sun, which if you have been traveling for hours can be a bit trying.
People are friendly and the eateries in behind are great value.

Well i was travelling around Thailand with my boyfriend and we stayed in MANY hotels so believe me when i say this place is extroadinary!
We didnt book ahead we just arrived and hoped for the best, but we were lucky and even haggled down the price of the room/mini house!
So we stayed in alot of luxury hotels over there and this one is in my top 3, The setting is so beautiful and theres HUNDREDS of palm trees... although seriously be careful of falling coconuts!

The Thai service is impecible, our room was beautiful... they put a flower in the toilet! The snorkeling is great in the clear shallow water and the sand! White! Gorgeous!
Buffet Breky was great but i didnt think much of the evening dinner and it really is (even in Thailand) on the expencive side.

The resort is out of the way and will get boring unless its just relaxation and isolation your after... theres a great spa but a bit ching ching.

This place is a little piece of paradise!

We arrived by speedboat from Phuket which we arranged with the hotel, the resort has its own private beach with a spectacular view that is hard to do justice in photos.

After a welcome drink we were shown to our room, we got a deluxe bungalow which had a sea view, verannda, really spacious inside, separate toilet and shower. Was one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in!

Pool is amazing, so close to the sea you can spend hours in there just staring at the view.

Be warned that there is nothing to do here, it is pure relaxation, we stayed for 5 nights which was just right as anymore and you may get a bit bored. The hotel itself is very expensive (particularly for dinner) as its so secluded there is little choice.

TIP: Walk round the back of the hotel (past the coconut bar) and you will find 3-4 lovely little local Thai restaurants which are amazing and so cheap! Alex's bar was great, really friendly local with amazing food, my husband and I had a delicious Thai meal and 4 drinks and the total price was £8 for the two of us! In the hotel they were charging £15 each for a buffet! Another amazing local restaurant was the Monkey Bar, also great food and very cheap! There is also a little shop where you can but cheap beer/fags etc

We would definately stay here again, it is amazing!

My daughter and I stayed here over Christmas 07, having already had to move from one hotel in Krabi to another because we had been miss lead by our tour operator we arrived concerned about what to expect. It's amazing, the staff were so sympthathtic to what we had been through, the accommodation (superior bungalow) are beautyfull, you have to expect that if you eat in the hotel you do pay morebut at no time did the hotel discourage us eating outside the hotel, we were in fact advised where to go. The diving centre is great and if you want peace and quite you could not find a better place. I have every intention of going back and I'm not easy to please having travelled a lot and use to good hotels. Go for it.

Photo's on websites really can't do this place justice. From our arrival via speedboat we were just stunned by the beauty of Phi Phi Island. The hotel staff were waiting for us on the beach with cold towels and a welcome coconut cocktail. We were then taken to our accomodation. On the first night we were given a free "upgrade" to a Hillside Villa- which was a mixed blessing because it meant that we were quite a way up a steep hill and far from our friends. We were given the option of staying here for the remainder of our stay too, but felt that the premium price they expected was not worth it - for a sea view and small splash pool. We were much happier on night 2 when we were moved to our garden view room.
Make sure you explore out the back of the hotel- there are some small restaurants and bars- which are more authentic and far better value than the hotel. Book your boat trips here from the locals as well. They are still recovering from the Tsunami and need the tourist's baht more than the resort does!
Can't really fault the hotel at all- except to say that it felt a little soul less and very westernised. Having said that it is probably the best location on Phi Phi and the views will stay with me forever. 4 days is enough- plenty of time to see all the sights by boat- Maya Bay, The Lagoon, Tonsai, Monkey Beach, James Bond Island etc. Make sure you do plenty of snorkelling as the water is crystal clear.
Don't stay here if you want nightlife- you'd be better off in Tonsai- but its nowhere near as pretty to look at!

Arrived on the hotel's private speedboat from the Boat Marina in Phuket which took about 45 minutes. A wonderful reception with a welcome drink (which was not charged to our room as one review suggested). Effortless check in. The superior bunglaow was fabulous and in a great location and as we were repeat guests they had adorned our bed with flowers and a "Welcome Home" done with leaves...lovely touch!
We had a fabulous stay although our only complaint s were a) the fact that the buffet foods were not replenished and if you ate after 8.30pm you were at a disadvantage. We complained to the Food and Beverage Manager who attended us personally and gave us her profuse apologies and we had a free bar bill that evening. b) the price of the restaurant food had gone up considerably since our last visit 2 years previously, but we found that in general most of Thailand seemed the same.
If you want a lovely relaxing time and be around the hotel staff who are some of the nicest sweetest people you are ever likely to meet in the most beautiful natural surroundings you are ever likely to experience, book!!!!!

This resort was absolutely wonderful. It absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way. We were married while we were there (a private ceremony on a neighboring deserted island) and the hotel staff made the day positively perfect.... really beyond words. From the flower bouquets to the dinner on the beach to the sweet service, this resort definitely delivered perfection. Even though we hadn't booked the wedding package through the hotel (we booked individual components, such as flowers & a cake), they went above & beyond in making sure our day was perfect. (And, it WAS perfect)

When we got there, we upgraded to a beach front suite, which was SO worth it. Instead of taking breakfast in the restaurant (which was great the first day we did it), we had breakfast delivered to one of our two decks. It was absolutely an amazing way to start each day.

We also went diving through the resort's dive shop & had a great experience (leopard sharks & all).

The next leg of our journey took us to Bali, where we stayed in another resort for about the same price. It was SUCH a letdown after our superb experience at Phi Phi.

I would highly recommend this resort.
