This is a fantastic resort from the pick up by tractor to drop off also by tractor, we loved it!
The rooms were spacious, clean & had all amenities you could wish for.
The staff were friendly & helpful.
The breakfast was great, we did have most meals in the village behind, which were fantastic.
Thoroughly recommend this resort as a base camp for exploring phi phi & surrounds.
Pay the extra for direct resort transfer.

Room Tip: All were good

We are in the bar at the resort as I write. This having been on the resort for a week. Most of the staff are great with one or two exceptions. It's raining at present but that is not the resorts fault. They should mention the sea is very tidal and at time can be 200m out. Not a true sandy beach as there are rocks and walking to a depth to swim is an experience. Recommend people bring shoes suitable to walk. In water with.

The resort is fine although some of the little things let it down. We constantly had to ask for tea bags, water, beach towels for our room which all should of been on tap. Frustrating and so easy to solve.

The village at the rear of the resort is great and a whole lot cheaper than the resort. Try the buffalo head. The food is great and raz the owner is a really nice guy. If you want to snorkel or scuba dive then see julienne or Bruno at the rendezvous we had great trips with both snorkeling and in my case diving.

Room Tip: Ask to be near the main reception or beach as some rooms are a long distance away

Absolutely loved the Outrigger Phi Phi. Stayed in a Deluxe Garden bungalow. The room was spacious. The a/c worked well. The bed however, was less than comfortable. It wasn't horrible, but I didn't look forward to curling up in it each night. With that said, you don't choose a place like the Outrigger for the comfort of the bed. You choose it for the location, service and the beauty of the surroundings. The Outrigger knocks it out of the park in every way in that regard. Contrary to what earlier posters have said, we found the service and attentiveness of the staff to be stellar. We were always greeted with a friendly smile whenever we came in contact with a staff member. And all our needs we're cared for. All in all, the Outrigger Phi Phi is in our top favorites beach resorts we've stayed.

This place is paradise. My partner and I just returned home after 9 days at this resort.
I find the negative comments on this forum unjust. This resort rates amongst the best in the world for its price range.
The staff were attentive, accommodating and unobtrusive. Everything was done with a smile on their faces. Special mention goes to Nasser who is a pure gentlemen.
Food was excellent and good variety provided.
Will be staying again for sure.

Room Tip: Beachside Bungalows are the go

We spent two nights there and transferred on their own boat from Phuket.
It takes a while for them to bring you to/from the boat as you have to go on a tractor pulled cart and a little boat before you get there.

The resort is nice enough. The only reason we went there is to see the stunning beaches around the two islands. The unfortunate problem, like with so many other places nowadays, is that everything is overrun. So you simply don't get those deserted spots you see in the holiday brochures anymore. Had we realised that earlier, we probably wouldn't have gone in the first place.
We took a long tail boat to Maya bay early one morning hoping to beat the crowds, but no such luck. Already at 8.15am there were about 100 people one the beach. If you have your heart set on standing on THAT beach no matter what, fair enough. Otherwise don't bother.

Back to the hotel;
Upon arriving for our Spa treatment the staff tried to make us book an other appointment for the next day. First before the treatment by offering us a discount, which I didn't like; let us have our treatment first. And second time upon signing the bill. Felt like I was being hassled.
But the massage was nice.

Thanks for the complimentary wifi; one thing that is annyoing though is having to log back in every single time. There is a "remember me" button; why doesn't it work?

They provide sea sickness pills at the front desk which is fab.

The pool area is lovely. Although looking for a free chair can be tricky at times.

The resort is big, so depending on where your bungalow is, you might be in for a bit of a walk.

Food was nice. Although being Veggies we felt there wasn't enough on the menu for us.

The Outrigger owner was on the same boat back as us. Upon arrival in Phuket he was picked up by a golf cart at the pier. The rest of us had to walk back in the oppressing heat. Having been driven to the boat when we arrived, it felt a bit like; well they've paid already, let's just process them asap so we're done.

If I'd go to Phi Phi island again, I'd probably stay there again.

The resort was great but seemed quite busy (despite not being anywhere near capacity) which detracted from the outstanding location and scenery. We arrived approaching the beautiful backdrop from our wooden long boat and were greeted with a delicious iced cocktail and cool hand towel upon arrival. A bit of a wait on checking in and out, but we were upgraded to a bigger villa (although had no basis of comparison against other villas at the resort).

The beach is amazing, perfectly clear and gentle, and beachside hammocks and bar are nice touches. However, the pool - mainly the swim-up bar during happy hour - seemed constantly full of people (perhaps we were spoilt having come from a secluded luxury resort in Phuket where we had the pool to ourselves - The Naka Phuket, who recommended the Outrigger to us as its sister hotel).

This resort provided all the usual food choices and had a buggy service throughout to ferry you around. We preferred to eat at the local village outside the back of the resort - worth an explore of the neon lights, food and local bars (who impressively undercut the resort with their happy hour). We dined at the popular village place on the right before the bridge, which was just as nice (but more basic) as the resort's more expensive thai restaurant. The resort breakfast had a good range but the guy cooking made-to-order eggs was so slow that the queue was long.

The room's dvd was not set up and cables were missing - we were annoyed to find this out after using the free dvd rental service. Wifi is also limited to the lobby area, and is not in rooms or at the pool/beach/bars/restaurants.

A nice two/three night's stay; has the potential to be amazing but wasn't. Just like another big resort.

Outrigger was definitely the best hotel we've stayed at in Thailand. Since the moment the hotel was revealed to my eyes from far away by long tail boat, my breathe was taken and it was hard to readjust. approximately 1KM spread with coconut trees white sand crystal water (although it is tiding down afternoon), 4 restaurants, huge amazing pool including inside bar. we came for our honeymoon and this is by far the most suitable hotel for that purpose, surrounded by peaceful couples. The rooms are well designed, comfortable with king size plus bad. There is a village just behind the resort offering chipper restaurants and activities however we didn't try them. The location is about 30 minutes in long tail boat from the pier and the boats are not always available (usually set time), so you are far away from most activities, restaurant and bars in the island. for us it was an advantage. few minuses you should be aware of: the mosquitoes were a huge burden, especially in the room. it would be helpful if the staff making up the room will spray it prior to guest arrival. same case in the reception and restaurants, especially in Reun Thai restaurant up on the hill where we found our-self leaving after half an hour due to bites. another issue is the hungry birds reaching your table during breakfast. I think that solving those 2 items will make this hotel more than perfect. All in all, heaven.
