The best decision we made on our honeymoon was to book a stay here, absolutely amazing.
The beach is gorgeous, white sand, clear water, palm trees. The water is bath temperature warm.
The resort has several restaurants, one just for the delicious buffet breakfast. Skip the Ruenthai restaurant. It has a lovely view but quite pricey and the food is alright.
Thai market night on a Wednesday is an incredible buffet of Thai food, some cooked in front of you. Book in or you'll miss out.
Pool area is to die for, loungers, drinks, a huge pool, it is an island paradise.
They also run snorkeling and swimming tours to Phi Phi Leh which are great and lots of other leisure activities.
Hire a long tail boat to take you to nearby bamboo and mosquito islands for snorkeling, well worth it!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights. We took the hotel private land and sea transfer, although pricey, was well organized and comfortable.

As we approached Outrigger from the sea it was absolutely breathtaking! We were brought directly to the lobby and were given a cold delicious drink. Check-in was smooth and we were brought to our Deluxe Bungalow via a golf cart. Although these bungalows are a bit more expensive then the superior ones it was well worth it. Very spacious and clean. They provided 4 bottles of water daily for free and towels would be delivered in a bin on our doorstep overnight.

The beach was beautiful and very well kept. We did not go to the pool as we are beach lovers.

Breakfast was very good and had ample variety. We had dinner on the resort for 2 of the nights. The food is average and over priced. We also found the staff to be inconsistent with their service. The managers were always pleasant whereas many of the servers were not welcoming. We ended up spending most of our nights at the little village located at the back of the resort. We were able to get authentic thai food there. Highly recommend "Pad Thai" restaurant and "Knockout Bar" for food options. Also, Mr. Chet at Knockout bar was extremely knowledgeable about the island and even took pictures of us and the marine life throughout our day trip. So make sure to bring a USB key or an SD card and he will transfer the pictures over to you.

If we ever return to Phi Phi we would stay here again.

Absolutely loved this resort! We decided to avoid the public ferry coming from Phuket and go with the resort private taxi and speedboat transfer.... BEST decision ever!! Our shuttle driver was very friendly and chatted with us the entire way to the speedboat and once we got on the speedboat we were offered cold water and sodas. Pulling up to the resort I was completely stunned. The beach was beautiful and looks like something out of a movie!

Next time we go back to Phi Phi I would stay here in a heartbeat. I didn't want to leave!!

We stayed for a couple of nights in this hotel in January.
Rooms are very nice, breakfast very good and dinner in the little local village behind the hotel is yummy! Unfortunately we could not enjoy the sea and beach very much since it was far too windy and too cold, so we stayed mostly at the pool area. The pool has a nice shallow area for kids and a small water slide-bute be carefull, the tiles arond the pool very are slippery!
The sea at this side of the island was really rough and for people suffering from sea sickness coming to and leaving the island is a real hard challenge! We took the private hotel ferry (no aircondition) from Phuket and left with the public ferry to Krabi, both arranged directly by the hotel.
We also booked a half day excursion on the speed boat around the islands, which was excellent.

Room Tip: there is a mosque right at the back of the hotel on the right side in the local village...so try to...

What an amazing 5 nights we had at The Outrigger in October 2013. We travelled as 2 couples and it was incredible from start to finish.

The private hotel long tail boat meets you at the Phi Phi ferry dock (they have t.shirts or rain macs on in our case, with logos on so you can't miss them) and they put your luggage onto the boat and then drive you to the hotel, around 20 minute journey, fab part of the experience. As you arrive you won't believe your eyes, AMAZING.

The rooms are gorgeous, we were near the back, obviously the sea facing rooms are the best but cost more, ours was just fine, and cleaned every day, you have a lovely hot shower, big flat screen TV, dressing area, hair-dryer, everything you need.

The beach is out of this world, as is the sea. The best place to swim is up by the reception, by the pool area there are a few rocks. You can hire snorkelling equipment but there isn't much to see around that area (go on a trip instead).

We ate in the coconut grill and bar one evening, it was so romantic and they had lovely singers entertaining in the bar. The food was amazing. Remember your insect repellent in this restaurant as it's right by the water and you get bitten alive. The smoothies at the beach smoothie bar are sooooo yummy, i had one every morning for breakfast on my sun lounger or hammock overlooking the sea. The happy hour at the swim up bar is very popular, really good cocktails.

Now the best part about The Outrigger- the secret village at the back, without this village The Outrigger would be a little boring, not much to do other than drink the rather pricey cocktails and eat the rather pricey food but if you venture behind the reception area to the right (behind the coconut and grill) you'll go past the staff quarters and find an incredible little village full of locals who cook the BEST Thai food i have ever had. We would go there for massages, lunch, and dinner every night but one. You MUST MUST MUST go here and once you've been once you'll go every night. It's full of lovely shack type restaurants, cocktail bars (shacks) and it's also where you'll find Le Rendezvous and Bruno......you must book your boat trips with Bruno, he takes such good care of you on his trips and in his restaurant, it's the only restaurant in the area that does an amazing cheese burger, bit of western food if that's what you're after. I cannot praise the village enough, go go go or you'll regret it and your trip to the Outrigger will only be half as good as it can be.

The pool at the hotel is the most beautiful pool I've ever been in, lying there looking out at the sea = pure heaven take me back!!! Overall an incredible resort, i can't really praise it enough.

Only negative would be on arrival it was pouring with rain and so we were rather down and we were left sitting in the reception area not knowing what was going on for ages and check out is also a bit of a joke, they took forever to work out what we owed on our room for food and drink and I felt it was very dis- organised so give yourself plenty of time to check out so you don't miss your ferry time. You can book long tail boats from reception to take you to the ferry port whenever you want. And my other gripe- the breakfast- do NOT take on their offer of breakfast it is the most overpriced thing ever, it's over £10 per person and you'll get a breakfast as good (probably better) in the village or just grab yourself a smoothie like i did and have a snack at the pool bar for brunch, I really think they need to lower the price of the breakfast offer.

But other than those 2 small things- ENJOY every second, especially the beach, pool and village food. You won't regret it.

Room Tip: All rooms fab but obviously sea view ones are amazing, go on treat yourselves.

We used their transfer service...it was expensive, but opted to pay for convenience. They collected us to a large private boat and arrived at the resort an hour later, headache free. The resort is peacefully stunning. Our hut was perfect. The beach was amazing, even when the tide went far, it was still so stunning. We only ate breakfast and lunch at the resort....for dinner we always opted for the village behind outrigger. We arranged tours with Mr. Chet, owner of the "Knock out Bar" restaurant. He is a very knowledgable man who truly puts in a sincere effort to make the tour enjoyable. He was the perfect tour guide!! Overall, had an amazing trip and I never felt so relaxed. It was very hard to leave such a wonderful place...

we stayed at outrigger one week and we found it a very nice village placed in a beautiful bay.
We specially appreciated that each room is a standalone bongalow with a big bathroom and a nice terrace to have a rest in the shadow. The whole resort area is very quite and clean.
The resort staff is very friendly and polite. The first day we had the dinner in the hotel, the food was very good, but also very expansive. We strngly advise you to go to the small village located beyond the resort. There you can get very good foot for a much more cheaper price.
The only negative point is that some locals are burning trash beyond the resort causing very smelly and toxic fumes.
