We switched to this hotel after reading many poor reviews about our original accommodation booked for Phi Phi, and it turned out to be a top decision!

This resort is simply paradise, and I could not fault one thing about it. The staff, service, food, bungalow and resort environment were all excellent - I can certainly see myself returning here again one day. Everything was so well organised too, and our stay could not have been made any easier so was very relaxing. To describe this resort, I would have to say it is like a postcard - picture perfect and everything you imagine.

One tip is to explore behind the resort - me and my partner did this and there is a great little village where you will find local shops, bars and restaurants (all cheaper prices). This makes a nice change for those who like to venture out a little too, however the resort of course do not advertise this place :)

Overall I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone, particularly couples.

Stayed two nights to end off a very busy 10 days around Thailand - the perfect place for it. Stayed in villa 512 which has stunning views and a private pool - room is quite high up the hill but the Villa comes with a golf cart service to pick up and drop off. Breakfasts were great as was dinner in the coconut bar!! The spa treatments also superb

We have been there twice now and we love it we renewed our wedding vows in August which was very nice.
The nights are very quite and unspoiled by noise and light pollution, best to spend it by the beach gazing at the thousands of stars or you could pop in to the town just behind the resort.
There are plenty restaurants and massage places there and excursions too.

Overall staff are lovely, the spa was relaxing and its a quite place.

They five you a welcome drink and snacks (which is delesish btw)
Nice and friendly staff, who speaks English!

We honeymooned here for 9 nights in May 2014 and overall had a lovely stay.

We had arranged to be collected from the airport and were shuttled on the hotel's speedboat and the same on departure, this was very smooth experience but I think quite overpriced.

Check in and check out does take a while and could be greatly improved.

Our bungalow was upgraded from the deluxe to a sea view superior which came as a wonderful surprise, the bed was decorated with flowers and a message saying "happy honeymoon", the room had a separate shower and WC with a sink area connecting the two. As other reviewers have mentioned the bungalow is slightly rustic but it was all part of the charm and we had all the comforts we required.

The pool was pretty awesome as was the beach, the beach is very shallow for at least 100m and when we first got there the tide was out from 12pm to 6pm. There were always plenty of loungers and no shortage of towels - 2 fresh towels a day plus some by the pool and didn't find any holes in them.
The restaurants as mentioned were only OK, our first night was a Ruan Thai and unfortunately was ruined but a giant flying bug that kept hitting our light and dropping bits of itself into the food. Coconut grill - generous portions of grilled seafood but nothing fantastic. We didn't try Marlin and breakfasts at Dolphin were pretty good.
The activities area always seemed a bit desolate and we had very poor communication with the dive team prior to our arrival as we were trying to organise some PADI training.
The spa was definitely one of the highlights! The staff were lovely and professional. We had 3 spa sessions in all and the honeymoon package with the banana leaf wrap was heavenly. Although be warned that they do expect you to have treatments naked or wearing a pair of disposable underpants.

The main reason we chose Outrigger over Holiday Inn was because of the famed village and it certainly lived up to its reputation. I didn't find that the staff denied it's existence as reported by other reviewers. We also had the opportunity to visit the beach at Holiday Inn and thought the beach at Phi Phi was much much better!

During our stay we mostly ate at the village for lunch and dinner and organised a boat trip there also, I definitely recommend people to shop around at the village before booking anything at the resort.

I agree with a lot of the reviewers that everything was overpriced even for Phi Phi but the fact that you have the option of the village at the back for restaurants, bars and booking tours made up for this. I'm sure we'll come back again as we had a lovely time.

I am very pleased that you chose our resort as a destination for such a special occasion. It is a delight to read you enjoyed your stay in general inclusive the room upgrade and honeymoon welcoming.

stayed at Outrigger for 9 nights. Had a superior room (room 404).

THE ROOM:
amazing bungalow style with wooden deck. lounge chairs on the deck. comfortable beds, although a bit hard. Airconditioning is good and silent. TV has great reception and HBO, FOX, Cinemax etc. Extra amenities such as beachtowels, bathrobes, water, moskitospray, flashlight etc. Bathroom has a good rainshower. Overal amazing room, with much comfort

THE ENVIRONMENT:
calm, paradise, palmtrees, tropic plants...what more can i say..

THE BEACH:
long private beach with sand and grass. very shallow water, so during low tide water is only knee deep for a 100 yards

THE POOL:
amazing pool, large, clean, perfect views of the ocean. poolbar in the pool.

THE RESTAURANTS:
don't know..never ate at outrigger (please see TIPS)

TIPS!!!:

-The hotel offers a longtail shuttle service twice a day to Ton-Sai for 200 baht per person. (10:30 - 15:00). if possible try and book a boat with several people, most charge around 600 baht per boat, so 4 people means profit. plus you don't need to follow the resort times.

-DON'T walk from outrigger to Ton-Sai. the walk is very uncomfortable and easy to sprain and anckle. if you do decide to do it, wear shoes and bring much water.

-The village. go to the rear of the resort and you will find the local village. it has been said many times in the reviews, and its true. a dozen restaurants, bars, markets and massage parlors are there offering much lower prices then outrigger (less then half!) and the village looks like its right out of a piratemovie :)
For good food, nice drinks and fun trips go to the Knock Out bar in the village and meet Mr. Chet. The snorkeltrips to Moskito and Bamboo island are very worth it!

-WIFI is only available in the Lobby area, Room 404 and others surrounding it receive the WIFI from the lobby.

Room Tip: Room 404: close by the beach and the village and free WIFI reception from the lobby
