“Nice place, but few things you need to know...”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

All in all this is a nice place. Few things you should know though... It is on the "isolated side" of the island (30/45 min. By boat from Tonsai). There is a few restaurants along this stretch of beach (jasmine serves nice food) and along the same beach are a few other resorts (like Holiday Inn). A small supermarket next door and thats pretty much it. Some people will love it because of its quiet location, and some people might not love it for the very same reason. Its definitely not a place for party people. From the hotel you can make a recommended walk to Tonsai Beach, the only village on the island. Will take you a couple of hours, but it is rewarding. Snorkeling from the beach is not really good. But if you go for a snorkeling tour its amazing. Speedboats and local fishingboats offer their services right outside the hotel!

They have a few different categories of rooms. Ranging from normal (and average) standard rooms to beach front villas (although they are not on the beach). Since july 2014 they have a new block. Nice and specious rooms. 2nd floor has partly seaview. The pool is small but nice. The beach is nice as well. The hotel offers plenty of beach chairs. The interior of the rooms is basic in the standard rooms and it gets better in the villas and the new block. I wouldn't advertise it as a luxury beach resort, but it sure has charm.

The reception offers wifi and the restaurant offers a good breakfast. People who complain about this breakfast are spoiled in my opinion. The other food offered is good! To me the staff was very friendly!

All in all my experiences here are good! On a sunny day its a tropical paradise!

Thank you to Patrick and the erawan staff for a fantastic stay. We were there for only 2 nights but could have stayed 2 weeks. We originally planned our stay at erawan palms as r and r after 5 nights at kata beach and 3 nights at phi phi longsai, thinking that there would be little to do but relax. What we found was some of the best snorkeling we have had anywhere on our travels, great walking trails along that beaches and jungle tracks, and some of the friendliest people we have met on our stay in Thailand. Thank you to the staff at erawan for making my birthday a very special time. The cake and happy birthday song at breakfast on our last day was one of the many unexpected highlights of our stay... We will be back... left a lot of friends behind.

We stayed here for only 3 nights of a 17day trip around Thailand and we couldn't believe how lucky we were.
Erawans is north of the main phi phi town Tonsai and there are no roads connecting the two! It is roughly a 2hr walk in to Tonsai, over hills and muddy paths. So if you are looking to party I wouldn't recommend staying here. However if you are looking to relax in a slice of paradise stay here!!
The hotel restaurant is a bit more expensive than you would pay for on the mainland so be prepared for that, but the food and service is still amazing.
Patrick was very helpful and all of the staff were always smiling.
We look forward to coming back soon :)

We stayed here for two nights during our traveling through Thailand. A beautiful spot, right on the beach. We booked a Standard room which was small but neat. After we complained that the toilet didn't flush, we were assisted by the night servant, who did everything he could for us and was very correct. He got us a Superior Bungalow wich we enjoyed even more. Spacious and a better bathroom.
Breakfast was simple but sufficient.
Although te place is out-of-the-way and quit, it is perfect for a tour to the beautiful islands and snorkeling. The pool is nice to relax and a visit for a day or max two is recommended.

Know what you're getting into. This is far away from the nightlife and noise of the other side of the island. For us, that was exactly what we wished for. The rooms are nothing special, but clean, and well serviced by staff. The staff truly care about their property, and you can tell they want you to enjoy your stay. Koh Phi Phi has become a party island, and there are very few spots that still have charm. This is one of them. It's 20 minute longtail ride from the town, but there is a smaller village within walking distance that has a couple quaint restaurants. Stay here if you want a romantic stay for a reasonable price, not if you want to drinks buckets of booze at a beach club and hang out with the backpacker crowd (not that there is anything wrong with that).

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and reserved Superior room which was new, very nice and clean - but located in area under reconstruction so it is not so nice. However we have not heard any noise either during a day or night. I have read some negative comments on the rude and unfriendly staff or dirty beach. Nothing of this I can confirm. The staff was good and helpful. The beach was a bit dirty during the low tide but when was high tide comming the hotel staff cleaned whole beach every day. And dirty means that there were some coconuts and rest from the fireplaces. Nothing horrible. This area is quite far away from the pier - DON´T TAKE THE FIRST OFFER WHEN YOU ARRIVE to Tonsai bay! The prices are just too high. You can go several times a day by shuttle boat or ferry to Laem Tong Beach. It is 200 baht per person compared to 1,200 baht by long tail boat. There is always more than one choice how to travel in Thailand fortunately. Laem Tong Beach is very isolated area and the prices are the highest I have seen in Thailand - comparing to Samui, Lanta or other parts of Ko Phi Phi. Bangkok is a different story. The prices of the food were at least double you can see elsewhere. Probably additional "tax" for staying so away. So I would recommend to buy at least the beers in Tonsai:-) A separated topic is English of the staff. A lot of people are complaining the staff don´t speak English but we should respect it. It is not USA, Australia or UK. It is Thailand with absolutely different language. We don´t speak their language too and are they complaining?! No, they are smiling. And if anyone bothers about it I have one recommendation for them - stay home!!

Room Tip: Book at least superior room
