This hotel is in a great location. Easy access from Ton Sai pier or the beach side of the hotel.
Some parts of the beaches at Ton Sai can be a little polluted and slimy however the beach out the front of this hotel is pristine. The pool is a great place to relax and unwind with poolside drink and food service. The waiters are a little busy so expect a short wait or order double drinks. The hotel rooms are very spacious but nothing fancy and do have that mild dusty Thai-hotel smell but you get that everywhere throughout Thailand and isn't a big deal. Don't expect accommodation on Phi Phi to be on the cheap like most other places in Thailand, but a stay on Phi Phi is well worth it.
This hotel is walking distance from the amazing beach parties that go well into the morning every day, however you can't hear party music from the hotel.
I'd stay here again. We had the best time!

This hotel was clean and in a good location. It is old but well maintained. There are a couple of things which could be improved, the gym equipment is outdated and the room looked like it is not cleaned regularly and if you want to do exercises on the floor then you would think twice. The pool is great, breakfast was good with plenty of to select from.

It would be more helpful if more people spoke English the only ones who we found to speak English were at reception, this caused a problem when we left on the Ferry as the porter took the bags and he pointed to one lane for us while he went another way, we waited and waited and saw people with bags then went back to find him on the lane we were on, we lost our spot on the overcrowded Ferry and he was perspiring with the heat waiting for us due to this lack of communication.

The hotel is close to all the shops and restaurants on the island and overall a good place to stay. The noise from the two nightclubs was extremely loud and echoed all over the island and could be heard from our rooms even though we were quite some distance from the clubs, this would be an issue with all the hotels on the island.

This is an old hotel, nothing fancy about the facilities, bathroom fixtures need repair, breakfast is just fine, you won't go for second helping.

BUT...

Very near the Pier at Tonsai Bay
Huge swimming pool
The view from the pool facing the Loh Dalum Bay is just awesome
Staff and personnel are all polite and professional in their dealings with the guests

I had booked this hotel directly from their website 2 months prior to me arriving, and the funds had already been debited from my account. 5 days before arrival I called this hotel to confirm my reservation and they confirmed and everything was ok.

Following a very lengthy journey from Chiang Mai, I arrived at 6pm to check in, from the moment I walked in the staff had attitude and were very unhelpful.
I presented them with my voucher and the reception lady threw it back at me and said my booking doesn’t exist, I was trying to make them understand that I called and confirmed and the funds have been taken from my account and they literally were not interested mid conversation they would get up leave and talk to each other in Thai and laugh. When I told them that they need to do something about this she laughed and said this is not 5* hotel.
Funny enough there were 2 other families in the same position as me and they were experiencing the same treatment, unfortunately for them they had small tired and bored children.

After 3 hours there was no other hotel available we were still sat there and no joy of a room. I called Amex and they cancelled the payment and started looking into alternative accommodation, due to tides no boats would go out that time in evening so the next boat would be in morning.

We checked in to Cabana hotel for the night, and this was done out of desperation.
The bathroom was filthy and the water in shower and sink was salt water. The bed sheets had hair on them and the room had sand all over the floor. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever seen.
If you are a backpacker and on a budget and you are very young and quality and luxury doesn’t matter then this hotel might just about cut it for you but for everyone else please look at alternatives and stay away from Cabana at all costs.

I enjoyed this place a lot, even if it did look like something out of a 70's TV show. The rooms were clean, it's close to town and it's right on the beach. To get into an actual hotel on the beach here (not a hostel) you have to go around to the northern tip of the island away from everything where all the nicer resorts are. The staff was great, drinks reasonably priced and the free breakfast buffet every morning is a huge bonus. The only real set back of this place, and really it's the main set back of the island itself, are the beach bars turned night clubs that cater to the backpacker set. The sound is incredibly loud and goes until 3AM every night and can be heard throughout the town in the main part of the island, though the sound is louder on the Ao Lo Dalam bay side of the island (opposite where the pier is), the side the clubs all face with the huge limestone cliffs that reflect the sound and work as a natural amphitheater of sorts. It's a shame really, trash gets strewn about on the beach and it attracts a class of people that don't seem to care about preserving this otherwise beautiful island. So if you're coming to the island and want a nice place to stay without breaking the bank, this is the spot. The hotel is currently under going some renovations too, looks like they're building a couple new wings with modern comforts and a whole new beach bar/restaurant on the Tonsai Bay side. Should be pretty nice.

Room Tip: Avoid the 2200 rooms, they're in the sweet spot that catches most of the sounds from the clubs.

I did extensive research on hotels in phi phi. Friends that i met while traveling stayed at cabana hotel and there pictures and stories were amazing..

So finally after we were warned that the pool and all the water in the room was salt water we still went ahead and booked 3 nights.

We had a very smooth check in and it went down hill from that instant.

We requested a sea view room so that we could enjoy the main attraction. When we were walking with the bell boy to the room we were put in the farthest building from every thing. Not only that but top floor with no elevator. Finally once we dropped our bags we started to take in how out dated this hotel truly is.

They pride themselves on being on of the best hotels in phi phi but that's an utter lie. Our ac was broken we called down instantly to the front desk to get it maintenance with possibility of switching rooms. The handyman played with the ac for 10 min and still nothing helped.

When we askes to switch rooms the front desk pretended to not speak English. And gave us the option to switch rooms in a different building but it was the same problem. The ac was on 15 degrees c which should be freezing but rather was just spitting air. We both we struggling with the heat.

Finally we decided that we had enough and wanted to see how we were going to be compensated. We had already paid for 3 nights up front which is 15k baht. The staff was the rudest i have encountered!

Finally after a huge fight they agreed that if we checked out within the next few min that I can avoid being charged one night. They need to learn that if they think they can charge 4 star hotel prices when a guest is not happy they need to fix it instead of saying the hotel is full capacity and making me cancel.

Be warned everyone.. The view aint worth the headache you will go through.

This hotel is perfectly locates, as it's next to the peer and the next to the shops in Phi Phi. You can hear noise (endless partying in Phi Phi), but I wouldn't say it was unbearable. The amenities are outdated, but it's comfortable enough. We enjoyed the pool, it has an amazing view of the beach, and it's really big. Wifi connection is awful. I recommend going to the lobby if you want good internet connection.
