It is a beautiful place to stay for a few days. But like any other beautiful places, there are many other fellow travellers around. There are just too many people, bicycle and carts ( ferrying goods and food to restaurants, shops etc ) on the small and narrow roads.
So if you don;t mind the ppl , then this is a nice place to stay for a few days. Otherwise, go in the low season of May to October. There will be less ppl compared to the high and peak seasons.
Go up the hill for better views.

The water is crystal clear and great for boat watching, the sand is powdery white but there is just to much going on for me to swim and spend my time for a beach activity, to sit and have some lunch or sit under a tree and gaze away....its worth it, just a bit busy thats all, i had a great massage on the beach in a hut just place the good heart bungalows(i think that was the name).

Pretty cool little port. It's expensive by Thai standards, but it is a tourist hot spot and they do have to ferry everything over... so.

There's a tiny local Thai restraint called Sonia's. It's seriously good! Find this little gem.

For night time it hots up about 10pm... go dance on the beach.

Pretty island come tourist trap, what a shame. The best time to have a quite walk around is in the morning before all the day tripper per boats arrive. Its a bustling transit point and very tourist oriented, nothing genuinely Thai anymore but simply a money spinner.

We didn't stay at Ton Sai, but merely visited from our resort on Long Beach. There were a few bakeries etc. and other western food options there (with free wi-fi) which was a welcomed respite after days of Thai food. We didn't stay there at night, and I hear they party pretty hard here - so it wouldn't be my seen in that respect. There is also a fair bit of (very typical) little Thai stalls selling T-shirts, dresses etc. at reasonable prices. (Comparable to Phuket and Bangkok.)
