“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

Stayed for just 2 nights. Was pleasantly surprised after negative comments I had read. Rooms pleasant. Our room had a good aircon but my sons room the aircon was not very effective. Lovely pool area and clean pool. Not many pool loungers if you want to lie at the pool. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Also hotel in quiet location but not far from the action. Staff were helpful. Before we checked out they inspected the room and found a bag we had left in the room. I would stay there again

Having read many other reviews regarding this hotel I WISH I HAD HEADED THE WARNINGS and not booked here for the 7 day holiday we just had on Phi Phi. Once checked into the hotel room we found two pairs of mens flip flops, a pair of toddlers underpants and a scarf which were left behind by previous guests, so this did not give me a sense that the cleaning standards were going to be anything to write home about!!! We thought it surprising that no body was using the swimming pool and the reasons why became obvious after day one of our stay. The pool chlorine levels were so acidic that it actually made 2 out of our 3 children's skins burn and therefore we were unable to use the pool for the remainder of the time we were booked in. The breakfast selection was ok but open air and therefore exposed to flies, ants and other bugs over the Buffett. Don't be late for breakfast otherwise you get a very frosty reception and firm reminder of the closing time. When checking out earlier than scheduled the lady on reception became very confused and accused us of taking a bath towel from the room. I wouldn't mind but the towels are barely thread bare and certainly not worth stealing or occupying valuable space within your luggage. You have to hand your room key into reception every time you leave the resort which means an opportunistic thief (on the inside) has the perfect chance to rummage through your goods if in collusion with reception staff/security guards as previously reported. By day 2 of our 7 day break we had had enough and decided to cut our losses and book into the Holiday Inn Phi Phi Resort which was amazing.

Room Tip: Save yourself the hastle of going up and down stairs with your luggage and stay on a ground floor ro...

DO NOT stay here!! The rooms are gross, theres bugs in the room, the rooms are dirty, the front desk lady is so rude, and I can go on ALL night! This place is disgusting. The ONLY good thing I can say is that the location is perfect. This hotel was opened in 2009 and it is complete filth today. Whoever manages this place doesn't know what he's doing and he has ruined a could be great property. The ONLY place even worth staying at in Phi Phi is Holiday inn or Zeavola(I think thats how its spelled)

Clean resort with average service and amenities, centrally located very close to the main pier in Tonsai Village on the 'quiet' side of Phi Phi but still close to the action. Pool looked nice from our balcony, but Long Beach is much nicer (we suggest taking the 15min nature walk, rather than a pricey long tail). We booked in advanced because we were worried about finding a place before the afternoon ferry departed, but we could have easily found more value if we waited and walked a little further down the beach (i.e. Viking looked way more our style at half the price). They only had 'banyan wing villas' available on their website and we wanted to splurge a bit while in Phi Phi - but our room wasn't anything to write home about and we were a bit disappointed for this price range. Our shower drain was clogged and the minibar did not even have a cold Chang waiting for us, which was a bit annoying. A simple, clean place to stay, but we suggest looking elsewhere to get more bang for your baht. Our room was not worth the $3,500 THB per night and this was a rookie mistake.

Room Tip: Avoid the villas along the night market side of the hotel if you need a quiet room (I think we had a...

The pool is small and sour. The service is the appalling. The gym allows teenagers over 15 years, so don't travel with younger ones. Location is on main street. Curtains are torn.... Receptionists are reluctant. We were accused of steeling a white bathroom towel in the middle of our stay... Well? No manager available. The owner lives in Bangkok and has no interest in running a hotel. WiFi is too slow for email.

Room Tip: pool view & 1st floor may have better AC

The rooms were clean and tidy and the bathroom of a good standard. The hotel was very quiet considering it was in the middle of town. Although I didn't use the pool it looked nice. It was a very good location to experience the bussle of the town.

The rooms are very old looking. The bathroom and shower looked very dirty. The shower head and faucets are all rusty and it smells like sewage everywhere. The air con made so much nose at night that it was hard to sleep.
The pool had so much chlorine, that the eyes and skin seriously burn. There are only 4 sunbeds for the entire hotel. Very weird.
In all, I would have picked out terrible as a score, but moved it up to poor bc most of phi phi is rundown and filthy since the tsunami.

Room Tip: Not for kids....but the location is great
