My husband and I spend 3 nights/4 days & our 10th wedding anniversary at Phi Phi The Beach and it was lovely.

We had one of the new rooms, which is right at the top of the hill with the best and most breathtaking views! Our room was clean, nothing was broken, A/C worked well (and it was bloody hot) and water temp and pressure was good.
Our room had swan towels and flowers to welcome us and we had free adrenaline filled rides up the hill with the shuttle service!

As it was the end of March when we were there, everything was dry. And honestly they need someone on staff who understands that watering the garden in the heat of the day doesn't help them to flourish or grow. If they got this right then the resort would really step up.

The staff were friendly enough. No one was rude and they happily arranged a take away breakfast for us when we were leaving for an early tour.

The beach is sensational. The restaurant is on the sand is a must for at least 1 meal (quite $$$) but worth it.
The beach loungers were plentiful and the water brimming with fish and so wonderfully crystal clear. It was unforgettable.

The walk to TonSai is an adventure, especially in 40' heat but I'm glad we did it the once. i was also relived that the Longtail fare is a fixed price (100THB/p Day 150THB/p Night) so not bartering needed.

Long beach is an oasis and I'm so glad we chose it for our time on Phi Phi. There are 3/4 other resorts on Long beach and the resort on the other end of the beach from Phi Phi The Beach has great, cheap and tasty food. They also have a small shop or supermarket.

Overall lovely location, comfortable bed and great memories.

Room Tip: The newest rooms give you great views for half the price.

The room, the island and the hotel a perfect getaway. We were there a year ago with our 9 year old son, and all had a great time. The heat was rather unbearable, but that's the weather there! Hotel room service very good. Amenities perfectly fine. We celebrated a birthday and the leaves and flowers spelling out bday greetings on the bed were a fantastic touch. Breakfast served daily had a huge selection that should cater to all appetites and desires. The little town down the path had some great restaurants and it was nice to get out from typically trumped up prices in hotel restaurants and explore more native cuisine. Overall quite lovely

ROACH motel standard: toilet seat falling to one side. Shower system installed from the 80s, shower tiles are in grim condition, the sink is so old and cracked with faucet loosely attached.

NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIS PLACE. It's as if the owner took off and abandoned the place and left the team of staff unpaid or something.

EVERYONE IS SO GRUMPY. FOOD TASTES DISGUSTING. Salad tastes like it's been washed with SEWAGE water.

I ALMOST CRIED STAYING HERE FOR ONE NIGHT.

The location of this resort is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing stay at a gorgeous beach but still only a short long tail boat ride away to get to the hustle and bustle of phiphi town. Our room had an AMAZING view, the bed was comfortable and everything clean. Long beach is swarming with tropical fish, so don't miss out on going for a snorkel! Cocktails are generously sized and super delightful but you do pay resort prices.Hope to be back someday

We very much enjoyed our stay here, and I would recommend it.
However, for the price we paid, there are still a few things that we felt were missing/not up to our expectations. I would still recommend it.

+ Nice beach
+ good underwater experiences (plenty of fish to snorkel with and even possible to spot baby sharks if you swim a bit further out)
+ Food overall was good (however, the staff had occasionally some difficulty to deliver what was ordered. This could be due to the translations on the menu perhaps not being 100% accurate) but all the dishes ordered with 'shrimps only' were mixed up with 'mixed sea food')
+ The view from the delux rooms (higher up) is just spectacular
+ small vehicles to transport people and luggage up to the rooms
+ great out-door shower

Room for improvement:
- The hotel staff behind the reception was not that friendly
- We discovered a 1 meter long bright green snake, relaxing underneath our roof and close to our shower. While it was outside our room, I still informed the reception and asked them if they could do something. The guy behind the reception said: I will send someone.
Two days later, the snake was still there. When I mentioned this at the reception, the only answer I got was 'I already send someone'.... Yes, however this was 2 days ago....
- In there room or on the balcony, there is basically no place to hang your towels to dry or swimming gear. no hooks or rack, no nothing.
- Phone did not work (and as a fair climb to get to the room, it was not ideal when checking out with all the luggage)
- The beds at the beach did not have any mattress /anything to lie on... pretty hard after a few hours.
- The staff starts to remove the beds around 18.00 and indirectly makes it very clear that they would prefer to have yours too....regardless of whether you are using one or not...

Room Tip: Carefully make up your mind: Chose between being close to the beach OR having a nice view (but a bit of a climb to your room)
