“cold showers every day”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2011

We stayed in this hotel for a few nights in Phi Phi and it was a huge mistake. After spending the day on the beach and in the ocean, it was terrible have to take a cold shower with bad water pressure. If you can afford something else in this price range, and you like to have a warm shower and nice bathroom, don't stay here. The breakfast was okay and the location was good. The room was simply not worth the money we paid -- it was well overpriced for what we got. Considering the dark dingy bathroom with cold showers, we would not stay here again.

Stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe bungalow for 2 with an extra bed as there were 3 of us. Bungalow was excellent; tastefully decorated & lovely outdoor space to chill or hang wet clothes! Beds were comfy (even the extra fold up), ac was good, fridge, comp water & tea/cofee making facilities a bonus, toilet was nice with an 'almost' outdoor shower, rooms were well cleaned every day. Staff were friendly & pleasant & we got a nominal discount for booking & paying for 3 nights from the offset. Resort has a good quiet location away from the main 'madness', and it's only a short stroll away when you want it.

We were slightly concerned at how busy the pool/restauarant area was when we first arrived but it seems that tour groups book it for lunch, other than that time of day it was peaceful with lovely views of Phi Phi Ley. Negatives? Charged for wifi (same throughout Phi Phi) & the signal was rubbish at our bungalow. The breakfast wasn't as good as others we've had but passable.

Would definately recommend.

Room Tip: Deluxe bungalow at the back - nice & quiet!

Absolutely lovely location right on the tonsai bay beach. The hotel had very nicely kept grounds with a big pool and a large jacuzzi. I went in low season so the hotel was quite quiet, which was exactly what I was looking for, it was very relaxing!
The hotel is situated at the end of the beach, so is a 3-5 minute walk from the main town, but I didn't find this a problem as there are stalls, shops and bars all the way along the path in to town and there is always the beach to walk along which has a perfect view of Phi Phi Leh Island.
The bungalow I stayed in was perfect for what I wanted, a good size with a TV and a fridge. The bathroom was slightly small and could do with a lick of paint, but it was clean.
If I stayed there again I might pay slightly extra to have an air conditioned room, as I chose to just have a fan to save money, but it was very hot and needed air conditioning really.

The staff are extrmely friendly and helpful, and will go out of their way to offer a great service. The day I left the hotel, they arranged for the porter to carry my bags for me to the pier, as there are no cars on the island, which was really thoughful of them.

Overall a really lovely place to stay, paradise!

Room Tip: I would go for an air conditioned room rather than fan only, because it does get very humid.

We were sold this resort on the ferry to Phi Phi by Phi Phi Family Co, he claimed that there was no accommodation available on the Island so we brought into this and ended up paying $2050.00 Baht per couple for which he told us was a higher end resort - Far from it, this resort is located at the end of Phi Phi therefore you have to walk quite the distance to get to good restaurants and shops etc no fun when you want to relax. The resort if over crowded with Asian tourists, with about 1 million kids dive bombing into the tiny pool, provinf to be a pain in the butt. The rooms are ok, though the bathroom is falling apart and our toilet had some sort of brown marks stained on the seat, towels are ripped and old! Also a big rubbish dump out the back, nice one! Breakfast - Dont even go there aye, its crap or if you want some plain rice, and a curry go for it, the line is huge waiting for an egg to be cooked on a hot plate, one guys cooking 2 eggs at a time, come on, not much to choose from at all !!!!. The ignorant guy at reception with the long mullett cant speak English and was trying to charge us again, he was super painful! Resort has potential, over crowded and dirty - don't stay here!

Andaman Beach resort is one of the last resorts on the way from town, before you enter the path to Long Beach. In that matter it is really quiet. We had 2 bungalows for our family. The room in the bungalow is like a normal sized double room in any hotel. The bathroom was really a joke. It is quite small and there is nothing that protects you from the shower. Not even a curtain. So everything gets wet. (Yes, also the toilet paper). And the bathroom is totally worn down and needs renovation.
The breakfast is good and what you expect. Eggs in different styles, hot Thai food, fresh fruit (Only pineapple and watermelon though) , cereals etc.
But the view from the breakfast table is really magnificent and breathtaking. It is a short walk of 15-20 minutes to Long Beach. (Or you can take a long tail boat).
The garden needs a refresh in order to look more inviting. (Maybe the gardener has vacation?)
If I consider what we are paying for the stay, we are more than satisfied (except for the bathroom though).
Will we be back? On Phi Phi yes, in Andaman beach resort? Maybe.
Anyway, I will recommend this hotel. Good value for money.

We stayed three nights here in March 2011 in a deluxe bungalow which lived up to expectations.
nice place with a really nice pool area.
Andaman Beach Resort is located 5 minutes walk from the main restaurant streets, which we thought was really nice because there was no noise at night.
Breakfast was ok. Service at lunch restaurant was sometimes a little lacking.

But all in all a good place I will return to when I go to phi phi again.

We stayed at Andaman Beach Resort for 2 nights in May 2011.
Hotel was just ok.
Pros:
-Good location, quiet, next to the beach, 5 minutes walk the town center
-Nice pool
-Acceptable value for Phi Phi average rates
-Average breakfast
Cons:
-Shower area was not clean: rust all over the wall.
-Empty minibar. Not even one of the two complementary bottles of water. Had to ask for them at front desk.
-Old towels, no towels for the swimming pool
-Door lock with regular key. As building rooms are not close to reception area and entrance to rooms is not at sight from main hotel areas, this kind of locks is not very safe. Electronic locks would be safer.
-Charged wi-fi with very expensive rate.
Phi Phi is expensive. So even though this was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed at, service and facilities were not even close to much better and cheaper hotels/hostels we visited during our month trip.
