Absolutely loved this place. We caught a great last minute deal with Zeavola, a sustainable resort in this romantic hidden spot two hours away from Phuket. Everything was great, the tranquil slightly bohemian Zeavola cottage we stayed at, the beach, crystal blue ocean, excellent service and food. You should really treat yourself to spend a couple of days here.
The breakfast is just wonderful as are the dining options. There’s a great little gym, PADI centre and options for excursions.
Go and chill in paradise.
The resort is all 5-star and will cost you a bit of money, but if you want balance out the 5-star investment you can nip out for some street food - though I’d rather say beach food, because there are no roads here just gorgeous white sandy beaches fringed by coconut trees - head to Mama Ping 400 metres down the beach to get the catch of the day on the BBQ with a legendary chilli-garlic-lime sauce.
If you head upstairs at Mama Ping, you can get yourself the most affordable massage treat on the beach too. The massage room is air-conditioned and a great way to escape the afternoon heat. The lady running it is lovely.

It is a special little beach. the long tail boat to get there and back was part of the fun. The "shoppie" under the tree is brilliant. Snorkeling was wonderful. Only bad was all the rubbish , there was no dustbins available...so sad for such a special place.

We visited Laem Tong for two nights (P.P Erawan Palms Resort) and it was overall pretty awesome.

Good things: Quiet, nice sandy beach, beautiful coral reef for snorkeling just 100 meters out (you can walk at low tide, which is the best and more safe time...watch out for boats), easy access to Bamboo Island - 30 min. by longthail (1200 for 3 hours).

Bad things: hmm really nothing but some would say that the prices are above average in Thailand.

If you ever get a chance to visit this most beautiful place take it!

White sandy beach fringed with palms and turquoise clear blue sea; simply idyllic.

This is a great place to stay if you are into snorkelling. There is reasonable snorkelling off the rocky outcrop on the northern end. We didn’t try the one at the southern end. Not a wide variety of marlife but good for practicing with your under water camera or other gear before visiting the spectacular sites.

Hire longtails not through your hotel but the skippers hanging out in front of the sign for Sea Gypsy Village near Jasmine restaurant on the beach. They can discuss best time in terms of tides to visit different sites. If you want to swim with sharks in Phi Phi Lei you need to leave early in the morning. A good two day itinerary is to book a half day to Bamboo and Mosquito islands as well as Ao Nui, Ao Loh Lanta and Monkey Beach in Phi Phi Don. Our second half day was at various sites of Phi Phi Lei with a visit to any missed sites on Don on the way back.

Practicalities: There are no ATMs on Laem Tong and getting to Ton Sao the other side of the island involves a long tail (1000 baht each way per boat) or the shuttle (200 baht per person but it only runs twice a day). If you don’t want to waste time or money get cash before you arrive.

We found two convenience stores. One in the Sea Gypsy Village. Ask about it at Mama Seafood restaurant where you will be directed down an alley. The other is at the back of Malee Seafood restaurant. Compare prices. The Sea Gypsy Village Shop was cheaper for bottled water. The independent restaurants are in between the Erawan and Holiday Inn resorts. Though there is another south of the Holiday Inn, across the road and through the rocky uphill path in a small woodland patch.
