We walked to this bay to snorkel. The amount of garbage thrown about the island and on the beaches was disgraceful and upsetting. Garbage everywhere on the beach and along the path. The water was amazing and the snorkeling was good. A tourist took a poop on the trail down from the beach. A drunk North American. We saw her. It was not a great day after witnessing that. If you have to go go into the trees not on the 14 inch wide steep path in view of everyone. Sad.

We have been here a couple of times now, each time we stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort as we are IHG members and can get free nights with points!) I think it's one of my most favourite beaches I've ever visited. You can snorkel but it's not great, but enough to keep you occupied. It's just so stunningly beautiful along this stretch of beach.

The last time we stayed here (April 2016) we decided to trek through the jungle from Tonsai Bay in 40+ degrees heat, for a good couple of hours!! If you decide to do that, be prepared hahaha (I would still do that again) You can of course, do it the normal way and either catch the public ferry or a boat taxi for about £25!

Absolutely loved this place. We caught a great last minute deal with Zeavola, a sustainable resort in this romantic hidden spot two hours away from Phuket. Everything was great, the tranquil slightly bohemian Zeavola cottage we stayed at, the beach, crystal blue ocean, excellent service and food. You should really treat yourself to spend a couple of days here.
The breakfast is just wonderful as are the dining options. There’s a great little gym, PADI centre and options for excursions.
Go and chill in paradise.
The resort is all 5-star and will cost you a bit of money, but if you want balance out the 5-star investment you can nip out for some street food - though I’d rather say beach food, because there are no roads here just gorgeous white sandy beaches fringed by coconut trees - head to Mama Ping 400 metres down the beach to get the catch of the day on the BBQ with a legendary chilli-garlic-lime sauce.
If you head upstairs at Mama Ping, you can get yourself the most affordable massage treat on the beach too. The massage room is air-conditioned and a great way to escape the afternoon heat. The lady running it is lovely.

It is a special little beach. the long tail boat to get there and back was part of the fun. The "shoppie" under the tree is brilliant. Snorkeling was wonderful. Only bad was all the rubbish , there was no dustbins available...so sad for such a special place.

We visited Laem Tong for two nights (P.P Erawan Palms Resort) and it was overall pretty awesome.

Good things: Quiet, nice sandy beach, beautiful coral reef for snorkeling just 100 meters out (you can walk at low tide, which is the best and more safe time...watch out for boats), easy access to Bamboo Island - 30 min. by longthail (1200 for 3 hours).

Bad things: hmm really nothing but some would say that the prices are above average in Thailand.
