Resort near to the city center. This hotel is near to the beach but in this area the beach is not good, lot of stones in the beach, each of us got hurt.
Nice staff really friendly and the room is clean and cute. Kind of bungalow super nice.
We stayed 2 night and if I come back to koh tao for sure I will book this hotel again.

Ideal for diving experience
The water from shower had a foul smell.
Restaurant served good food at a fair price and overlooked the beautiful bay.

Room was very standard, but clean enough.

If you are looking for somewhere with comfort then this is probably not the best place for you

My friend and I stayed at Tropicana for 10 days, but in those 10 days, the women at the reception have NEVER even made the effort to be even remotely polite to us. Whenever we went down there to ask them something (which we only did when absolutely necessary in the end), they never said anything nice. And by nice, I mean: hi, have a good day, you're welcome... So pretty much the basic stuff. The men were very friendly, but the women were awful. The rooms were nice though, they could be cleaner, but it's ok. Don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon.

Stayed in a fan room for 3 nights (it's 500 Baht/night). The room was pretty rundown but I could tell they tried hard to keep in it clean. Bed sheets had old stains on them but smelled clean. The balcony was nice. Bathroom was little bit smelly in the mornings but overall, tolerable. I ate there once during my stay and imho it was reasonably priced. The food wasn't stellar but it was nice just eating and chilling right next to the beach with an ocean breeze.

The cons: The fan was incredibly noisy but since it's hot you need to keep it on at night. So bring ear plugs unless you enjoy the sounds of a small helicopter lulling you to sleep. Also the wifi is horrible. It basically doesn't work unless you are in the restaurant. It'll say you are connected but it will take a millennia to load a page or just not work at all. Basically, there is no wifi.

These rooms were included with my scuba diving course and just 1min walk away from the office, so no complaints there. Overall, it was a decent room but for anyone who is a bit finicky and wants a nice to place to relax after a long day will probably want to book elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a quiet fan.

We spent our first 3 nights at another hotel very close by but wished we had booked this one from the beginning. The rooms were a good size and all have balconies overlooking the really well kept garden. Staff were very friendly/helpful. Although the place was very busy, unlike our other hotel, it was very quiet. Loved sitting on the balcony listening to the wildlife.

Lots of friendly employees taking care of the place all day long, that means ultra clean rooms, friendly atmosphere and a feel-good vibe. We were there for a week and it was just great.

It's really close to the beach, and also from Ocean Sound Dive + Yoga...

I had a great bungalow on the beach with hot water and fan for 600 baths a night. Location at the south of the island Chalok Bay was perfect for me because diving school and yoga shala were both 2mn walk. But you have to rent a scooter or a bicycle if you want to go to Baan or Sairee. I did not try the food at the hotel. The beach is very clean and water is turquoise. There was some noise at night due to people celebrating the football cups or just partying around but luckily the sound of the waves covered the voice bursts most of the time.
