good choice if you got a low/middle budget! for 500bath you can have a bungalow with a great view on the sea; rooms are basic but clean and very quiet. Restaurant is a bit expensive compared others in the area

We were told by staff there that JP resort doesn't use a booking system so you just turn up and see if they have any rooms which isn't really ideal if you arrive late in the day. But when we did get a bungalow it had a great view from the balcony (room12) and was just over a small road to the beach. The room was basic but ok, although they need to clean squashed bugs off the walls and get new pillows as mine was like a bag of spanners. Staff weren't very helpful and good was a little overpriced so we ate at Kae Big Fish further down the road.

Disappointing really that one of the better locations on the island of Ko Tao, is occupied by such a lax team in a poorly maintained hotel.
The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful - the food is below average and over-priced - the rooms do not have basic complimentary items like a jug, tea, coffee, or toiletries - and the rooms are poorly furnished, with beds like concrete, and roooms are only cleaned every 3 days.
This all would have been acceptable on a 500 baht / night rate, but for 1500 baht / night we expected a LOT more value for our money.
I would not recommend this hotel to fellow travellers and would suggest other places nearby instead, to take advantage of the good location in a better run establishment.

just got here, bit dissapointed really... i knew it will be basic but well, expected at least night lamp, water cooker (cause reception isnt 24/7) and all reastaurants around aren't 24 hrs open as well.
so i got see view bungalow which is totally not like on the photo, i got shower (cold) and a toilet... toilet flushable with bucket... this is very suprising especialy when no one in any review have not mentioned about it..
one plug in for a whole room...and a very hard bed... but can get used to that ;)
took it cause im gonna stay here four weeks and i really didnt wanna pay more for monthly accomodation in thailand, than back home, actually wanted to make it cheapest possible cuase im on my own, so here it is.
so if you dont mind, and it's really just a shower- bed thing- stay here, its clean, and got all basics human needs.
staff firendly and restaurand has stunnning view and cool set up.
and yeah, view is amazing :P

Average low- to mid-range place with ok restaurant, although great view!

Location is in top, not because of the beach which is narrow, but because of the people staying is this area, who are often here for longer time and for diving and chilling, rather than partying hard.

Go for New Heaven dive school if you wanna have some great memories from the world below.

We checked into JP Resort after staying the previous night at a rather gross resort further up the island. Because JP's prices were the same as what we had just paid, we were expecting a dumpy room that was small and dirty.

We were delighted to find that the room was spacious and clean, with a large bed, vanity table, and bed table. The bed was pristine and clean, and the washroom was also in a decent state. The ceiling fan provided more than enough comfort, and the balcony was the perfect finishing touch to an already fantastic room. Everything looked brand new and well cared for. My only complaint was that the bed mattress was absolutely rock solid. The walls are a bit thin though, as we were next to three rooms full of Irish people who partied every night until 4am and then came home and continued to blare music and yell drunkely until 6am. Definitely not the fault of the resort though.

The restaurant is great as well, and free wifi is offered when eating. The view from the patio is fantastic, as you are only steps away from a semi-quiet beach with soft, white sand. The location of the resort is perfect as well - within walking distance from nightlife and shops, but far enough away from the noise at night.

We have already recommended this place to several people we know who are traveling to Koh Tao. Thanks JP for a great stay!
