My boyfriend and I stayed in a wonderful bungalow (V06) overlooking the Gulf of Thailand- the view is unreal! We had a king bed and a fan (no a/c), big doors that let in a nice breeze, and a mosquito net (but a mosquito got in.) The bathroom looked nice, but there was no hot water, low water pressure, the water had a distinct smell, and lots of mosquitos lived in there. We used bug spray and had no problems and few if any bites. Outside there is a little walkway to a phenomenal view from the cliffs. The food in the restaurant is quite good. And did we mention the view??! The walkways and stairs are quite steep, so visitors with physical problems may want to look elsewhere. It is very minimalist- no frills, but we were very happy.
I did some diving through Buddha View, and I was very pleased. The dives were the best of my life - Gorgeous!
A highlight of our stay in Koh Tao was arranging a spa package with Jamakhiri Resort. A driver picked us up at the 7-11 near Buddha View and drove us to the resort. We enjoyed a Thai massage, a fantastic face mask, an aloe vera wrap, and a hot sauna for 1950 bhat. Decadent.
We highly recommend the island and ViewPoint Resort.More
