We booked for 2 nights but left after just 1 night.. The room was high on the Mt many steps to climb.. Not the kind of work out we wanted to do..:)
The rooms are old, need renovations and also smelly . Hot water did not work so basically it was a cold shower.
One good thing is the view from the restaurant and the amazing sunsets.
Manager of the hotel was very nice but couldn't convince us to stay..

We stayed here in August with our son and his fiance. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We stayed on two separate occasions during the month and on both occasions the views from our rooms were spectacular.
The staff on reception and the restaurant couldn't do enough to help you. The staff we passed on the walkways always greeted us with a hello and smile. Some of the rooms are accessed via quite steep paths, however, the hotel is on the side of a hill, commanding some of the best views I have seen in Thailand, so a little climb is well worth it.
A big thank you to the staff on Reception, I left my sun glasses in my room and they had them shipped over to our hotel on Ko Samui. Very friendly staff, fantastic views and excellent hotel. Than you Dusit Buncha Resort for a great stay.
John.

This resort was beautiful. We stayed 3 nights and were very happy with the service and overall stay. The location of this resort is breathtaking. All rooms are situated on and around the cliff face and look directly over the ocean and nearby islands. The sunset from our balcony each night was amazing. Away from the hustle and bustle of Koh Tao town centre, but close enough to hire a scooter or ATV to get around. The restaurant looks over the sea and surrounding rock formations.

Stayed here for 3 weeks last year and it was exceptionally good. More pricey than a lot of accommodation on the island and further out of the action but if you don't mind that its spot on. Infinity pool is a big plus and staff went out of their way to help.

My parter and I just spent four wonderful nights and days there. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. Yes it is a bit far away from the town but they do transfers a few times a day, or you can just hire a scooter like we did and come and go as you please. To top it off the views are phenominal with access straight to the ocean for a bit of snorkelling around the rocks. But most importantly our whole time in Thailand we haven't had nicer people look after us!

Room Tip: Pay a little extra to get a room NOT at the top of the hill!

I was hesitant to book this hotel after reading the reviews on here, but I was travelling on my own and really wanted an idyllic view place and I decided to stay here despite the bad reviews about the service. Now, this was my experience:

The good: Amazing view, probably does not get any better than this in Koh Tao. The deluxe villa where I stayed overlooks the sea and the other more expensive villas below me are right by the water. My room was huge, comfortable, with a lovely reading room to the side and a beautiful balcony. In general, view is amazing, rooms are big. I could not complaint about the service, everyone I talked to was friendly and understood me in English very well. Not sure what the reviews were all about about the bad service and people not being able to speak English (maybe they changed the staff?)

The bad: The property is a bit run down, still looks great, but you can see that with a bit of investment they could have kept to a fantastic standard. Good in the balconies need polishing and varnishing and things like that. It does need a bit of care. The other bad point was the stairs... the restaurant is by the sea and if you have a high up room you must be prepared to walk a bit. Lots of stairs everywhere. The location is 30 min walk from Sairee Beach (town), although you can walk it it is not a plain walk, there are a lot of hills and it isnt a pretty walk. Taxis are ready available for you to take you to town any moment but that would cost you 200 Baht. No ideal if you want to be out and about in town.

The ugly: The noise! As this is a very secluded location and each bungalow is almost like in between trees right by the water there are lots of frogs, gekos and other types of animals that make noises at night, the moving trees with the wind also make cracking noises that one has to get used to. Being in such location you must expect to find a geko in your bathroom or room at some point as they are bound to get in somehow.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms and villas have amazing views, but you could get noise from boats and wild animals.

Last minute booking on Koh Tao for 2 nights.
Great location right on coast with a good road for access, about 10 mins by road to Sairee. The resort does offer a transfer though if you were staying here for a while you might consider hiring bikes.
As the resort is on the rocky coast of KT all access to rooms/pool/restaurant is via stairs so get your leg muscles working.
Sunset from restaurant on a good night is amazing.
We stayed in room 212 (Duluxe Villa Romantic). The view was awesome and the room was big and clean with good airconditioning. The deck needed some repair, old planks and tired cushions on the deckchair. The bathroom was cool, outside (private and undercover) with a shower set in the rockface. There was also another room, undercover with no a/c with two chairs, we weren't quite sure of it's purpose and did not use it.
Breakfast was good and due to location we ate at the restaurant both nights which was lovely.
A unique place to stay though I have experienced better value for money on Koh Tao.

Room Tip: We ideally wanted to stay in the Sunset Villa though they were booked, would recomend though based o...
