My Husband and I just stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon and were extremey dissapointed. The resort is very beautiful and but the service was terrible.

Check in was a complete shambles with 16 people checking in at a small hut and staff running around not knowing what stage anyone is at. Got to our room and a bath towel had a huge hole in it.

The beach bar ran out of glasses and left guest waiting for up to 25 mins for a drink during happy hour while they went around collecting them to wash up. No explanation. The bar wasn't actually very busy.

The restaurant staff had no idea what they were serving and kept going back and forth to the kitchen. We ordered a bottle of wine from the specials list and they came back to tell us they didn't have any of the wines on that list. So we asked which wines they did have from the menu and were told. 'Better you pick one and then I will see if we have it'. 20 mins later they are on the phone and had taken 5 bottles of wine out comparing them to the menu and we still haven't recieved the water we had ordered.

We asked to speak to the manager only to be told that there was no manager on duty untill 8:30 the following morning. They handed us the phone and said the assistant manager would talk to us. We were finally seen by the manager as we were leaving 3 days later with excuses and not taking any accountability. Not what we expected from a 4 star resort.

Dear Both,
Thank you for review, and yes we did fail during your stay and that we apologiese for.
those points should not have happened in regards to the towels, as we have only three
check in times if people come off the ferry it can be a bit chaotic for sure, as for the beach bar
there was no excuse here at all for the lack of glasses or service, in regards to the wine and the lack of knowledge unfortunate that we did put our staff through a wine training course a month back, their manner in the way you mentioned not aceptable, we have discuss with them all.

Due to myself not being on site during that sunday, apologies for not being there though i was on a day off and was told the next day of your case, i visited your room on a few ocassions to discuss the matter and only by chance we met on the walkway, we try to assist and help all if you feel i was not taking this serious then my apologies as i take all guest serious.
my sincere aplogies once again for the lack of care and attention during your stay

So. It is noisy at the moment, I wouldn't go until they are finished... unless you get our room which was right at the other end and had its own pool. Perfect! 511 did the trick. If it were not for that particular room I would have been a little annoyed at least.

Service, hmmm, good but not great. Casual (no one hassling you every 2 seconds like 5 star resorts) but a little sloppy when they are busy / peak times / dinner time... but they are trying.

Bed, comfy, maybe a little hard. Rooms are well appointed. 511 has an awesome view and pool, right next to the jungle.

I would come back, but in a year when things next door are finished. Shuttle into town is necessary. Ate at The Gallery, and best spa in town in Aurori. Spa at Haad Tien is good but basic for being in a resort.

Some tips for management:

Advise people to bring decent in water shoes in order to get out to the reef wall to swim, 100's of fish, but in this season the water is so low, it is near impossible to get out to them during the day. Night happened to be fine.

New Music, oh my lord, please get someone to design a music list for your restaurant area.

Be a step ahead, like do not leave our room service plates sitting on our deck for 2 days. Just come back 2 hours later when we are away to pick them up.

Hmmm, what else. Oh the dive shop. The vis was terrible at the time, they did provide a long tail boat, but the sites that the driver with little english took us to were just OK.

I think the whole place simply needs some training in correct and consistent communication, simple.

Enjoy... in 2014.

Room Tip: Simple. 511.

Dear Alex,
It was a pleasure to meet you both during your stay, much apreciate the direct review in regards to the noise next door, Pool villa 511 does have a fantasic view and secluded for sure, our apologies in regards to the slowness of our staff during the hectic times, we have noticed this and will be addressed, there must be an improvement for sure.
Sea water levels are now coming up and by August people can swim over the reef in front of the resort.
hope to welcome you both back in the near future.

Best regards, the staff & Managment

Had a wonderful time at Haad Tien resort and the dive shop, Wishes, was the best experience! Sue was so sweet and kind as she signed me up and answered all my questions. If you stay at the resort you receive a discount too. But, the really great thing about Wishes is the 1 on 1 experience with your instructor. I had a private lesson for all 5 dives in my Advanced Open Water certificate, which cost less than most dive shops at the Pier -- and I would have been stuck with 4-15 people per dive! Safety wise, fabulous too. A place you can trust and really relax to fully enjoy your holiday break. Thank you Sue and Ivan!

This hotel, in the most beautiful beach of Koh Tao, is really amazing. The service is fantastic and the employees are always nice and also has a good restaurant and bar. I loved the bungalows, mine had pool and sea view and a lounge outside. Unforgettable holidays!

Beautifully located and presented boutique resort on a secluded beach. A range of accomodation options to suit singles, couples, families. We stayed in a getaway villa which was great. Great food and service, included breakfast perfect, bar serving world class cocktails on the beach.

Only small criticisms is that bar beacomes overloaded at happy hour (more barman would help) and sunloungers by pool are a uncomfortable

Room Tip: They all look great. Note currently there is building going on to the left off resort and so best t...

Just got back from two weeks staying at Haad Tien beach resort and it was amazing. We stayed in a pool villa which was sublime. It's our fourth time now there and frankly there is no other place like it for the price in the world. Staff were all amazing as well and the food was lush. Go and experience it I dare you. I stayed one night in a deluxe bungalow directly ON the beach. I don't think my words will do this resort or shark bay justice. The bungalow was beyond perfect. Every little touch...from the pot of water with coconut ladle to clean your sandy feet off before walking into your bungalow, to the private padded lounges on the beach as well as a padded couch on your deck allowing you to admire your peaceful view of shark bay. Each little addition made me fall more and more in love with Haad Tien. Their restaurant is all open air with an option of sitting on the beach. Their dinner was cooked to perfection and their breakfast spread had anything your heart desires. And shark bay is the most beautiful spot on Koh Tao. *It is a super pricey resort...but I can see why.

Dear Both,
thank you for a wonderful review, delighted we have met and exceed your expectations.
its true its hard to describe the resort and the bay in a few words, a destination that must be seen and experienced.
have passed on your comments to all departments, we try to add those small touches that add to a guests experience.
thank you both once again, hope to welcome you back one day.
