Nice and friendly people, perfect pad thai, excellent snorkelling!
The hotel is far from the noisy of the main Sairee Beach center. The beach is better there and there are many many coloured fishs and corals at the rocks.

Great location at the North end of the beach. There is much less boat traffic (noise) compared to down the beach. The beds are firm, like most of Thailand.
Quite with a short walk down the beach to town. Our deluxe villa was clean and big enough for three of us. The A/C was cold and the shower was hot enough.
We found the front desk, Caroline & Fon, to be very helpful. They really helped us out when ever they could.
The food is OK, but we usually walked down the beach to eat.
Sitting out front in the water watching the sunset was a nightly ritual for us. Beautiful!
We would definitely go back.

We had a great time in the Palm Leaf Resort. The price for our bungalow was slightly higher than what we wished for but reading the other reviews we got a great deal (I believe we paid 1200 bht/night), probably because there was a construction going on behind our place. Our bungalow was clean and cozy. The resort is right on the beach and there is a restaurant as well, so you do not necessarily have a reason to leave. The staff was friendly and nice, it had a feel of a youth hostel. We made friends with one of the Burmese waiters and he was giving us recommendations on what to do on the island. He recommended a guy to hire for a snorkeling trip around the island who kind of ripped us of. So be careful - my observation was that the Thai people are ready to take whatever they can, other service staff is more honest.

We stayed in a bungalow with a bit of a beach view. It seemed very overpriced for the facilities and services provided. We did like being on the end of the beach with more of a beach/sand area and less traffic. Front desk staff wasn't very helpful and an average breakfast. All in all, it was fine, just underwhelming.

The location is very good in sairee beach. bungalow about 20m2 with wonderful balcony and view. Restaurant is ok (nothing special but ok). The room service and property are not nice for the price we payed (3500 bath/night).

Its hard not to fall in love with the location and staff at the Palm Leaf Resort. Upon arriving at the ferry dock we were greeted by staff from the resort, taxi to and from the landing. The resort is pretty compact area with great beach frontage at the end of Sairee Beach. This location is ideal as this is a cleaner nicer end of beach and great swimming area with little boat traffic. The resort is close proximity to village for quick jaunt to restaurants/shopping needs. Yet far enough that music from the beach bars to the south isn't annoying. During our stay we took the island snorkeling tour from a local tour operator which is an all day adventure with more snorkeling than you can ever want in a day and was well worth it. Palm leaf isn't an extravagant resort so if your looking for luxary you should look elsewhere. We found the resort to meet our expectations which is a well cared for resort with good location, quality room and lodging and nice staff.. One other area that looked interesting to stay was south of Maai Haad by Jamsom Bay Sai Nuan beach but I believe the hotel options are move expensive in that area.

Room Tip: Unless you have beach front or your room is on the second floor you'll probably have a very limi...

Relatively expensive, but we had very pleasant stay here. We recommend Deluxe Villa (list price 3.500 baht) for your stay. Given the place is on far north part of Sairee Beach, it's not so crowded, but requires 10 minutes walk if you want to get to diving center or most restaurants.
Breakfast is unfortunately small and not that delicious.
We recommend Rimlae restaurant in the neighbouring resort.
