PD resort is situated a bit outside Chalok Bay in the south of Koh Tao on June Juea beach. After a 5-10 minute very steep walk from Chalok (start at Alvaro Diving direction of Viewpoint resort) you'll find the secluded beach area with only two or three hotel facilities so you practically have your own private beach at the hotel.

The 6 or 7 rooms are very basic but that fact is duly made up by the very friendly Thai family that runs the place. They really make you feel at home and very relaxed. The view from the restaurant terrace offers some of the best sunsets on Ko Tao. Make sure to try their Pad Thai, it's the best we had in the Gulf of Thailand.

The hotel has no pool but you can easily use the pool of the resort nextdoor. They even provide a free pickup service to and from the Mae Haad pier. Just make sure to email them before you arrive.

Great place, great people, great surroundings! Thanks again for the nice stay!

After having read about PD Resort on Tripadvisor we were a bit disappointed on arrival. The resort is approx 10 years old and the bungalows are quite run down, there does not seem to have been very much maintenance in those years. There is nowhere to put your things, not even a hook for the towels. And the light is dimm. In the restaurants reclining area the cusion-covers are completely torn. If we had been young backpackers I do not thing we would have been bothered. But for the price we paid we had definately expected more. But the food is very delicious and the people there are extremely friendly, which makes up a lot for the rest. Fortunately we could go next door to the Pinnacle resort and sit at the poolside.

This family run 'resort' really is the ideal place to kick back and take it easy for a couple of nights. The meals on the deck are absolutely spectacular and freshly made by the family running the place. I wouldn't suggest you stay here if you're looking for lots of action, but not all that many people are on Koh tao are, and we were more than happy with this. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed in a Thai fashion. The breakfasts are basic but lovely and using the neighbouring resort's large deck and pool is completely acceptable.
One way taxis into town are quite expensive (500 baht) directly from PD, so I would advise that you either rent a bike or walk across to chalok baan and get one from there (about 200 baht).

We stayed 3-4 days on the Island, at PD Resort. Not a boring moment nor crowded. Relaxing sunset views, and nice breeze from ocean. . Purely enjoyed the private bungalow experience, being one with nature and surroundings. If ever you want to get away from commercialized areas, tourist spots, stay at P.D. Resort. Beach front views, great views of ocean. You can enjoy watching the sun set every night. Wonderful food, you are made to feel like family. We' ll be back more often

Room Tip: Bring comfortable shoes, 2 pairs of shoes should suffice. Sandals and walking shoes for exploring island. Bring sunblock, don't let overcast fool you, still will get burned.

We stayed 3 nights in Bungalow 1. The family was so lovely and helped with everything, the beach was nice and quiet and the selfmade food was fresh and tasty - thank you for a wonderful stay at your little paradise...
