still feel bit lucky to screen Alila Villas out of seas of the hotels on line. Travelling with one of my friends' family incl a 5-yr old girl, the fully furnished facilities incl an exquisite garden, priviate swimming pool, kitchen and living rooms are just perfect to make the stay as at home. the best moment is to drink the iced beer amist the aimless talking, by watching the little girl snorkling in swimming pool, while the sparkle star hanging in the mid-night. Last but not least, Beylnda, the owner of the villa, is helping us for all the details incl local foods, taxi, boat, trips advices and etc. The only thing to be complained is short time planned for Kao Tao... Thank you.

Alila Villas is located in a quiet location but not far from the beach and main street. It is about 10 min. to go to the beach, the location is very good. Belynda is very nice, she provided us a cell phone and her number that we could contact her at any time. She also gave us all of the information we needed. She is not only the owner but also like our friend. Allia villa must be the nicest place to stay in Koh Tao.

Alila Villas have an open layout, with a full kitchen, flat screen TV, fully loaded movie hard drive, and two bedrooms. The rooms were all done in a modern style, but with beautiful accents of natural wood and a large couch. Plenty of storage space. The outside had a great sitting area, with a thatched roof, hammock, and a small pool. During the hottest part of the day I just relaxed in the pool. The kitchen was fully loaded so we were able to cook a lovely pasta dish, my first home made meal in four months.
We met Belynda, who was the Canadian manager of the house, and she was the nicest girl in the world. She would do anything to help you out, and was a wealth of information. She provided us with a cell phone so that we could easily get in contact with her for any questions, and we had many. Everything from best beaches, best night to get sushi, to which doctor to go to. She answered everything we asked and stopped by to make sure everything was ok.
This is a great place for a romantic week in the tropics, or if you have a family it's perfect for you too. The villas have a wood fence around them so kids can play to their hearts content.
I truly loved this place and would come back in a heart beat.

I contacted Belynda at Alila Villas to check availability as I am traveling with my elderly mother & these villas look perfect! Unfortunately (for me) they are all booked up but Belynda not only returned my call really quickly she followed up with an email with suggestions for other places that may suit taking into account my mum. Acting as a travel guide for koh Tao not just her own interests. I really appreciated that extra effort for someone not even a guest. Good form!

Everything was positive.
But my most favorite part was Kung and the staff at the villa. They did EVERYTHING for us. Made sure we didn't pay too much for bikes, or boat ridesl They were always on call for any request and they did so happily with only our welfare and enjoyment in mind.
The hotel also gives you a local phone with the room so you can call them or use it locally.
There's a cheap local general store with express laundry right behind the villa. The area is not over run with tourists which is kind of nice. Keeps prices reasonable and gives a great vibe. (Don't tourists sometimes ruin the vibe?! )
Its a bit secluded which is positive (as mentioned above) and only slightly negative. We didn't mind renting scooters because they really are helpful on the island so it was fine for us. I probably would have rented a moto anyway no matter where I stayed.
There's pool. Its small but there is a pool and it is nice for soaking during heat hours.
The furnishings are really tasteful and luxurious.
Shower was great. Bathroom was great.
They clean everyday so its always fresh.
Rooms also have ceiling fans. No bugs in sight.

Our Alila Villa was excellent.A short walk to all the restaurants shops and the beach. Having a kitchen meant we could cook breakfast and eat it beside the pool. So quiet and peaceful. Just loved our stay. Coming back to Alila Villas again next year

We have just enjoyed six weeks staying at Alila Villas and had a wonderful time. This is our seventh visit to Koh Tao and we have stayed in top resorts and other rented accommodation but Alila Villas surpassed all previous experiences. Evidence of our satisfaction is that we have booked to stay there next year. Highly recommended.
