During my stay at Ananda I stayed at least one night in the variety of lodging options provided by Ananda Villa--they can accomodate a variety of budgets. Just a ahort walk from the pier when you come off the boat. I would recommend lodging here for its professional and friendly staff, variety of lodging options and liked that it was not around the 'party scene' further up the hill though just a 15-20 min hilly walk to the bars etc. Their restaurant across the way was DELICIOUS!
Drop off Laundry service was also available
And internet was good too.
Option 1-- wooden budget bungalows which are not on the beach but just a short walk and located in the wooded area just beyond the main office. These were rustic but clean-- you need a flashlight if walking back to your place at night because it is not well lit and you might walk up to the wrong bungalow. :)
Option 2-- Balcony rooms which were a treat and easily accomodates 4 depending on bed selection. I liked these best as you are right on the beach and the rooms are well appointed and have AC.
Option 3- budget rooms essentially cement block rooms with a bathroom and shower. These were also on the beach but had no AC and just one fan which moves but is hardly enough to cool the room if there are two people.
The rooms in all styles were clean--harmless but annoying little ants trailed in and out of Option 3- so I put my pack up on the shelf.
