An honest 2 minutes walk from the pier, a couple block from many most dive operators (including ours, Master Divers, which I'd highly recommend!), and about 20minutes walk from Sairee Beach, this was a great spot for our time on Koh Tao.

We stayed in a fan (not AC) garden-view bungalow. It was mostly quiet and clean, and the mosquito netting kept us safe from buzzing and bites at night. We had a lovely patio with chairs to sit out and enjoy the shade and palm trees.

Wifi only works in public areas, so we had to walk about 50 feet down the hill to check email, but we were on vacation, so didn't mind that much. :)

The service was fine. We didn't need much, so didn't test it, but when we asked for recommended snorkeling locations the reception lady gave us a map and a couple suggestions that were great.

Only advice is to check on the layout before you come if you have any mobility issues. We are a young healthy couple, so had no trouble, but our bathroom was down a very steep set of stairs from our bedroom space, and I can imagine it could be problemmatic for some. Otherwise nice little place to rest up after long days of diving, snorkeling and beach time.

The (upstairs) room was one of the best we had on Ko Tao for the price even if the walls seem to be rather thin, we could hear quite a bit of the neighbours. It was clean and spacey, the bathroom was lovely. Internet was pretty slow. It's a good place to start on Ko Tao, it's only 3 minutes from the pier, you don't need any transport. Ko Tao is such a small island, you can walk everywhere, it's by far the best way to explore. Because of the closeness to the pier there was always a bit of noise in the morning. There's even a bit of beach in front but it's not really inviting, they could definitely make it cosier (eg a nice deck and some beach chairs adjacent to the beach front wall).

We had booked a villa with garden view and airco but the first two nights the airco didn't work. With 35 degrees this was terrible and we couldn't sleep or relax. Also the wifi didn't work here because we were to far away from the reception and the shower was really old. To make up for this we got an upgrade the last two nights in a comfortable villa next to the beach and with a working airco and wifi. The bed was comfortable, the room big and the bath room was okay. So it was kind of a mixed experience.

The location is great, really close to the pier and the main road in Mae Haad. The woman working at the reception was friendly and helpful.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had a really good experience. Hotel is right off the beach and a short walk from all the parties, restaurants, activities. You can find a place closer but the parties in Koh Tao can get loud. This was a great buy for the price. If I ever visit Koh Tao again, i'll stay here.

I also want to add that the staff was really helpful and friendly.
