The hits with hammocks are great, all with sea views. The toilets are open (don let this put you off!) - its something different and helps make a holiday.

Tony is a good laugh and the evening spent with beers, listening to music and watching the stars away from the gap-yaaar masses is well worth the price...

Moon Dance has a set of nice bamboo bungalows with great open air bathrooms. Each bungalow offers a hammock from where you can enjoy the stunning sea view. The terrace of the restaurant is also very nice and offer privacy for those who need it. You really can feel how much effort it needed to build this resort on and around the huge rocks, great job! On the flip side, there is no beach, but a rather rocky entry to the sea (good for snorkeling). Furthermore, the resort is rather secluded and you need to get a (pricy) taxi if you want to go to the beaches nearby (you can also walk, but it’s quite a trip..). The food is good, but due to the lack of competition slightly overpriced. For everybody who plans to stay longer on Ko Tao, I would recommend spending a couple of nights at Moon Dance.

It starts with a bumpy ride in the pick up truck up and down very steep road / off road. And that is the only way to get to the place. This bit is probably not for everyone... however, if you are traveling in Asia to have some adventure - this is it!
The bungalows have amazing view over the sea from a very high cliff - stunning! I enjoyed the hammock outside for sunrise and sunset. The restaurant for your breakfast and evening drinks have the same stunning views.
No beach, but we went for snorkelling session just bellow the bungalows - great sea life, stingray and packs of fish. And we were the only ones! Hotel is providing snorkelling equipment for free but it is of very poor quality - just hire one from the main city.
Staff does not speak much english except Tony at reception. Great guy that cares!
Another great bonus - shower with open sky - a must have for couples!

Room Tip: If you are for adventure skip the lifts to the city provided by the hotel and hire a quad from the town! Enjoy riding on that steep road instead of just sitting in the back of pick up truck.

If you like marble floors, a/c rooms and looking at your tv or even get drunk at the nearby pub before walking to your room, this place isn't for you. However if you want to have a remote taste of more simple life, bamboo huts, setups made it a way to mingle with the nature and the most amazing views you ever had, then I dare you to spend only one night here.

The hosts are most welcoming, the food is great and there is four sweet friendly dogs lingering around. Althought in one of the hottest period of the year, the fan complemented well the breeze from the see in our hut. A net around your bed will protect you from the Mosquitos that are not too bad.

Far from the pier and city (about twenty minutes by very bad roads) it is the best place to relax. If you really miss the city too much, then taxis are setup to bring you around 8:30, 11:00 and 13:30. Arrange your pickup time in advance. The round trip will cost you 200 Thai Bat by person.

There are no beach. While the water is accessible, despite the nice weather, the water was way to hard to reach it. The nearest beach is at 30 minutes walk.

Regardless the nicest place we have been.

It was a last minute booking and not right for us. Only stayed for 1 night. Taxi pick up from pier was fine until we stayed on main road after that it was the worst journey ever. Very very dangerous road. Was in shock and it ruined my holiday. The place is for people who enjoy being away from everything and love camping environment. No easy access to town. You need to eat there. Nothing else to do but go to sleep. But very friendly staff and amazing views during day. No beach access.
