“Great location but they can't get the basics right”

We had great memories of Blue Wind from when we were in Koh Tao five years ago, sadly our most recent experience was rather poor.

The location is great but it cannot excuse poor service and badly cooked food.

I ordered poached eggs on toast and when they arrived I was given one piece of bread (not toast as it still soft) and two eggs that the more hard boiled than poached. Surely a breakfast place like this should know how to poach an egg? I had to ask for butter as it didn't come with it. I was going to send it back but decided not to bother struggling with the language barriers. My partner had a banana and chocolate croissant which she enjoyed, but I figure it would be difficult to get that one wrong...

They also have a option of "real coffee" espresso for 50thb. Sadly it didn't taste any better than instant, had artificial looking foam on top and was weak.

We were given our bill (I was charged extra for butter - is this normal?) and gave the waiter our money. Instead of coming back with change he told me there was none as he didn't charge me for the one piece of bread!

A real shame as Blue Wind is in an awesome location and had some great memories for us. I would go to one of the many other good breakfast places instead (Zest is excellent) and just visit Blue Wind for a drink.

Nice place, good service and a great location on a quite part of the beach. At there twice and want to go back. The sandwiches look yummiest, is you want to get away from all the wonderful Thai food.

I finished off my two month travel experience at Blue Wind and I couldn't have done it a better way. The resort has very nice bungalows situated throughout a treed setting, with a beautiful lane leading right to the ocean. There is a yoga loft on site which offers amazing hatha classes everyday. The bakery/restaurant is beach front, with cushions to sit on, low tables, and a great menu. Staff was very friendly. I didn't want to leave. Check it out!!! It's totally worth it!!!
