We were looking for a relaxing luxury holiday on a shoestring budget so we originally booked the v iewpoint resort and we never thought this hotel would be in our budget. For £20 a night for the two of us we weren't expecting too much but we got sick of the viewpoint, lighting in the room was terrible, and in the heat we longed for a pool and something a bit special. As it was my fiances bday we thought we would pay a bit more to stay soimewhere nice for a few nights so we called up this idyllic picture in the 'Ko Tao Guide' and it turned out then had basic rooms for £25 which included a large buffet breakfast! After camping in hill villages up North we were so excited to be staying at this resort. It just took the pressure off having to go out all day and if we felt like it we could stay at the hotel all day. We are a really active couple who love to explore but it was nice to relax by the pool after coming back from a day out exploring on the moped. Watched the sunsets over the infinity pool! Our room was basic but nice, 24hr electric, balcony, en suite, mini bar, fridge which they filled with free bottled water everyday for us. Clean towels everyday. They gave you a towel at the pool too and lovely...We were looking for a relaxing luxury holiday on a shoestring budget so we originally booked the v iewpoint resort and we never thought this hotel would be in our budget. They gave you a towel at the pool too and lovely fruit smoothies by the pool for under £1 (bit more expensive than the rest of Thailand but the location was amazing!) The restaurant for dinner was lovely too - certainly reasonable but we always went and had this buffet/bbq on the beach Chalaak Baan which was for the divers. At first we thought the food looked like it had been sitting around for a while etc. but it was GORGEOUS! The BBQ fish was divine and I dont usually eat fish. So I'd def reccomend that. And they had happy hour between 7pm-8pm where 2 cocktails was only 100 Baht!! Heaven! Note this was not the hotel but its just along the beach from the hotel. Back to the hotel, staff were lovely, only thing was you have to walk through the garden and up some steps to get to our room but we didn;t mind that one bit. It really made our holiday finding this place!More
