Really lovely hotel situated at the end of the Beach, restaurant food is ok and reasonably priced but they can't cope with more than 10 people. Nice beach with cabana sun beds but get there early if the hotel is full otherwise you won't get one. We had a Sala villa which was a really nice large room next to the pool, not suitable for children as there is no support on the large balcony and has a large drop at the end of it in to wooded area. Mosquito repellent needed at night as the hotel is set in jungle end of the beach.

Room Tip: If a couple choose Sala Villa not far from the beach and very spacious, bathroom was inside and very...

Checking in is a chore. They had us fill in a whole page full of questions that should have already been in their system. We were stuck at reception for maybe a good 15 minutes.

This is located at the very north of Sairee beach, which would have been ideal if only their food in the restaurant wasnt flavorless. Because of this we had to walk to town for all our meals which became a chore. Even the free breakfast is not worth eating.

The linen in the bed was nasty. We noticed two stains on the thin sheet after we pulled down the blanket. I would think with the price they charge for this place that they could afford new sheets to replace ones that are permanently stained.

The pool does have a green tint to it and a salty taste. Im guessing they partially fill the pool with ocean water.

The staff by the beach were nice. If you choose to lay by the beach on one of their beach beds one of the staff will come by with a mattress and towel.

One other plus for this place is the dog that greeted us every morning. Not sure if he belonged to the hotel. We named him Austin since his collar was of the UK flag and I thought of Austin Powers.

Would not recommend any one stay here. There are much better places for far less money.

overall our stay was enjoyable. We are on a backpacking trip but decided to spend a it more money on this room. The room was clean and near the beach. The staff were somewhat helpful. The only downfall it was but bit noisy from drunk people coming back late. The location is beautiful though.

I have read thru most of the review towards this resort before booking. Even though mixture of review, i still decide to give it a try. Overall was great except for the service i had in the Rim lae restaurant in the morning for the breakfast. Particularly, there are 2 server who just really horrible. Both tend to be very friendly towards caucasian tourist but the minute they turn to me, no smile, rude and was giving me the kind of "pissed off" look whenever i try to ask more detail on the menu. One of the server even show the irritate look when i ask what type of juice come serving with the breakfast. Instead of answering, she just point back at the menu real hard asking me to read it on my own. But when she attend to the table next to mine, she was all smiling, laughing and even play with their children acting all friendly and nice.

I kind of wonder do i deserve to be treated in this way. Did i not pay the same amount as others pay? I do hope that these 2 particular server could be more fair especially towards the asian tourist and not to be too racist as they themselves are thais which means are asian too.

Overall, other than these 2 server in the restaurant, the rest of the worker in the resort are generally very helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed our stay at Koh Tao Cabana - we got an upgrade as what we had booked were full, and our new room was very close to the beach, but not noisy at all! We only heard a few noises from people returning home from the parties further up the beach.

It's a great spot, on the less busy end of the beach. The restaurant is in a beautiful location a bit further up the cliff, and does have great potential - but we would have liked to have seen more vegetarian options. Breakfast was fine, and this is just personal preference, but I would have liked a few non-egg options from the menu!

Having been to Koh Tao a few times we decided to upgrade ourselves for this trip. However, the location of Koh Tao Cabanas means that it is incredibly noisy and therefore it was absolutely not worth spending so much money. The setting is beautiful but we felt totally un-relaxed after our holiday due to a lack of sleep.

We traveled to Thailand over Easter visiting Bangkok, Koh Samet and Koh Tao. I can easiliy say that Koh Tao was the best part of our holiday. Koh Tao Cabana helped make it a memorable one too.

We only stayed in the basic cabanas for around 3000THB per night (booked through Agoda) but basic they were not. We were greeted from the Lomprayah ferry by a lovely man with our names on a board offering free transport to the hotel. We arrived, checked in and were made to feel at home straight away by the friendly staff offering us fresh popcorn from the machine.

We were then led to our room (which was up a fairly steep hill. So if you have dodgy hips or one leg, you may see this as a negative.) Upon arrival to the room, it was explained to us that we get two small bottles of water complimentary every day inside the mini bar. Anything else you eat/drink will be charged to your card when checking out.

First impressions of the room were its cleanliness, unique style and most importantly privacy. Each little cabana is situated roughly 20 feet apart so you do get discretion when using the outside shower and toilet. I personally liked the outdoor bathroom. Its well sheltered but you can be greeted by a couple of pervy geckos whilst showering! They are harmless though and will most likely scarper once seeing you.

One night we did have a rather large lizard in our room. My girlfriend wasnt too comfortable with him being in the room with us so we called reception. They sent somebody almost immediately and the lizard was removed with no fuss.

The reviews slating the pool had me in stitches. First of all, there are plenty of palm trees surrounding the swimming pool, creating a green reflection in the water... Secondly, the base of the pool is painted green... So there'd be something seriously wrong if the water didnt look green. When on the beach, the water is crystal clear (as you'd expect) but the shallower bits look green due to the reflection of overhanging palm trees also... The water is definitely not contaminated in any way.

All in all, Koh Tao is a wonderful, relaxed placed. And Koh Tao cabana is the place to stay! For £60 a night Bed and Breakfast (which are amazing by the way...) its a real gem. The customer service levels of the staff deserve a mention too. Exceptional in one word.

Room Tip: If elderly or you struggle with heights, request a lower cabana due to hills. The honeymoon villas a...
