“Beautiful, but ask for a room that isn't at the back by the road”
Reviewed 25 June 2011

Sensi Paradise is one of the most lovely posh Thai style hotels I have stayed in. beautiful teak bungalows in Beautiful grounds, with superb pools.

The bungalows are pretty large with huge decks. The furniture is lovely, rooms very clean. the front desk staff are pretty good and generally helpful. Breakfast is served in a fantastic cabana style restaurant by the sea. Quite good breakfast, but nothing special. We ate at the restaurant one evening, which was OK. setting stunning, but the food seemed over westernised with very little spice.

This place is decent value for what you get. We had a garden view room, which would have been excellent were it not for the road behind. Not much soundproofing from those motorbikes and the workshop right behind! So if you go for a cheaper room like we did, request one that is further into the grounds.

very beautiful place, especially if you have romance in mind!

the room was really nice and was made up every night with a mosquito net around the bed. the pool was absolutely lovely, the beach by the restaurant was also gorgeous and not too far from mae nam - although you would need to walk along the beach as opposed to the road. i thought the breakfast was brilliant and the on-site restaurant really very nice - we ate their twice during our stay and the staff we very friendly and attentive.we were diving in sairee every morning and the staff were very helpful arranging taxis for us.
overall a lovely stay

Stayed a week in May with husband and 3 year old son and had a wonderful time.
Lovely setting at the end of the bay, close to port but not so close that noise was an issue, easy walk into Mae Nam and quick cab journey to Sai Ree if you want more nightife.
We stayed in sea view suite, Room 1. Beautiful 2 bed bungalow just uphill from the beach and restaurant - in hindsight we would have booked one of the rooms with an indoor bathroom - open-air sounded fab in theory...in reality not so good if you needed the loo in the night after a storm and not so good at the end of the day at mozzie time. But the room itself was lovely and a great big balcony
Breakfast was amazing, really not sure what people complain about on that front - surely ordering something from the menu (2 pages long...) that is freshly prepared, tasty and very filling is better than some lame buffet thats been left out for 3 hours....
The staff in the restaurant and by the pool were second to none and they were simply wonderful with our 3 year old - the moment he woke up he would race to get dressed and run off down to the restaurant to see all 'his friends' - he was spoilt rotten with attention and lovely origami toy boats, flowers and paper aeroplanes - it made his holiday and ours as we got to eat our meals in peace! We ended up having more meals there than we'd planned on, all the food we had was lovely
The beach directly outside the hotel is nice enough, fab views, we spent most days at the divine swimming pools, snorkelling round at Jansom Bay was great, and arranged a brilliant longtail boat trip round to a couple of bays and over to Nang Yuan Island (amazing snorkelling) which we loved
Would definitely recommened Sensi Paradise

This was my second time here (last time in 2004). Since my last trip they have built more bungalows/houses and built a swimming pool. The pool (2 actually) is lovely, plenty of chairs to lounge around and a good pool bar service. We booked a fan house but found it too hot so upgraded without any hassle (and for very little extra cost) to an air-con house. the restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was yummy. The choice of breakfast (which is included in the booking price) was plentiful, from museli fruit & yogurt to eggs benedict. The manager was friendly and helpful. The location is great... close to the pier in Mae Had and easily accessible by taxi to the next beach (or any beach for that matter). There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The beach at Mae Had is shallow but you can still swim in the shallows or snorkel right out front if you want. We did a snorkeling trip organised through Sensi which was an entire day around the island (lunch included) which was a great way to see the island. I cannot fault Sensi at all and it was one of the nicer places we stayed throughout our one month holiday in Thailand (my husband & I and our teenage daughter & her friend). The price is incredibly good value (coming from NZ where our dollar isn't that strong either)!

We booked this hotel as a stop on our 3 month honeymoon to southeast Asia. The reviews seemed to be pretty positive, but we quickly learned the hotel was not for us. First, the word hotel would imply that there's one big building housing a number of rooms. This was not the case. Every room available was bungalow style and really set in the jungle. While it was initially beautiful and we thought we'd enjoy the quiet, we failed to consider how remote the hotel was (we're in our late twenties/early thirties and wanted SOME sort of nightlife) and how "in touch" with wilderness the place was. On our first night, we decided to take a quick nap that was abruptly interrupted by what sounded like a large lizard running across our floor. Then, it seemed as though a bird had made a nest in our vent and would periodically howl. The hotel ended up being way too buggy and creaturey for us and we cut our stay from 5 nights to 1. Also, we were told wi-fi was available in room for an additional charge and it was not. There's also no tv or alarm clock in the room. This may be a great setting for some - people with children and looking for total quiet and relaxation. If you're more like us, I'd suggest Simple Life Resort in Sairee Beach. Sairee Beach has quite a bit going on.

This was our 3rd time to Sensi and loved every minute of it! The staff were efficient and very helpful and friendly. Facilities great! Can't understand why people complain about the breakfast that is now included??? A great choice of meals, well prepared and fresh and tasty. Some people seem too fussy and ungrateful! We will definately be back for another wonderful visit. GO Sensi....

Room Tip: Bungalow No 29 was perfect for the 4 of us.

Absolutely disgusted by the horrible customer service given what we paid for the room ($105 cad discounted from $285). We had booked 4 nights and ended up finding another hotel that first day because of a lizard in the room, Mosquitos everywhere, and warnings about spiders getting in the room and snake encounters on the property. No wonder they're infested because the doors don't close properly, nor are they sealed and the window has chicken wire for a screen! I suspect that's how the lizard got in. When we complained and inquired about a refund the staff was condescending and basically told us to go to Bangkok if we didn't want bugs. They charged us for 2 full nights rather than a full refund or even one night! For that price in Thailand, there should be good service, friendly staff and no creepy crawlers in the room. Stay far far away!!!
