My husband and I travelled to Koh Tao during his fall break from teaching at an International School in Bangkok. What a wonderful treat and getaway from the hustle and bustle that IS Bangkok. We flew from Don Meuang Airport to Chomphon where we were taken by Lomphrya's hi-speed ferry to Koh Tao, and as promised the hotel taxi service met us dock-side. Upon arrival we were greeted with refreshing drinks and immediately taken to our bungalow with a lovely view of the sea. The resort is beautiful in a rustic kind of a way; so if you're looking for luxury resort...this might not be your place; but we loved it. The bungalows are comfortable, ours was air conditioned and the bath was inside...some of the bungalows have outside showers....which I think might be cool, but just so you know. While there we had a Thai massage that was fabulous and the food was great. Dining is ocean-side with lovely views of the surrounding islands and the harbor. Also, we took the snorkeling excursion with private guide and long-tail boat and that too, was just awesome. Beautiful coral reefs, lots of colorful fish, and great scenery all around the entire island. If you're looking for a quiet retreat, with very comfortable accommodations, the Sensi Paradise is your place. Don't worry if you wake up to find a gecko in your room one morning..it's all part of the great experience. And their pool is absolutely beautiful!

Room Tip: I would ask for a bungalow with a view of the ocean, some of the bungalows are around the pool. Eve...

Stayed here in January, 2012. It was a bit pricier than I was planning for, but wow, it was worth in in my opinion. I had my own little cabin, with a huge bathroom, deck out front with a hammock and chair for reading. The restaurant was so/so; but that didn't really take away from the place. Was very clean, staff were helpful and friendly - helped me arrange a scooter rental for the week and were there to meet me at the ferry when I arrived. I would be likely to stay here again the next time I'm on Koh Tao.

This resort is certainly nice and quiet. You won't be disturbed by television or telephones, as there are none on the resort. We booked a superior house, as this was the only option available to us on online. We have a toddler under the age of two and I would not recommend this as an option. Just getting to the room felt half a mile away from the hub and the stairs leading up to the hut were steep with gaps a child could easily fall through. The room was small and not practical for a family or condusive to relaxation. With a toddler, I would highlight, consider where your room is on the resort, as mosquito's are more problematic when the hut is positioned in the higher area's just surrounded by tree's.

When we upgraded to a hut overlooking the swimming pool, it transformed our stay. The room was immediately larger and had a much nicer feel. The swimming pool is very grand and together with the sea and hills beyond, makes for a pleasing view. We experienced the buffet breakfast which works really well for a family with a toddler. Unfortunately, on the last day before leaving the breakfast formula changed to a sitting service which was not so time efficient.

All the staff were very friendly in the restaurant but with a little one we chose not to eat in the evening but it smelt gorgeous with the charcoal grill of fresh seafood on the go. The restaurant is next to the sea and had a semi formal, relaxed, romantic atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this resort for couples but as a family you need to ask a few questions about the position of your hut to make sure it suits you. The deluxe house was good value for money and met with our expectations for what we paid.

Travel tip: When you arrive into the port, ignore all the taxi drivers. Look to your left and you will see the restaurant by the sea. It's wooden and there is nothing beyond apart from rock. Just walk to the end of the pier when you get off the Lomprayah Catermaran and continue through where you buy tickets and you'll see the path. Turn left, keep walking and you'll see the sign for Sensi Paradise Resort. It's no more than 5 minutes.

Room Tip: Don't book a superior house with small children.

Located on a quiet stretch at the end of Mae Haad beach the location is excellent, close to the pier, but not too close. Plenty of decent restaurants, but Mae Haad is rather quiet and if you like it a bit more lively you'll have to take a taxi or scooter to head to Sairee. Resort is nicely laid out, staff is helpful, great pool and nice beach (not enough sunbeds) with nice snorkeling options.
The rooms are quaint, you'll have your own cabin, veranda with fan and great views. The rooms are romantic, dim-lit with squeaky floors. The bathroom is 'outside' and that's something you either like or not. For the price you're paying I would expect a bit more luxury in that area, then again, it does fit with Ko Tao. And yes there are mosquitos, gecko's and other animals, but each cabin has a mosquito net so during your sleep you won't be bothered. You can't go wrong with Sensi, but there are other places with better value for money.

We booked the romantic suite with fan, this cabin is located right above the sea and has its own veranda with stairs leading down to the rocky beach.
The rooms are very beautiful and we enjoyed every minute we were there.
The service is great, the staff very friendly.

A much more luxury option than most on Koh Tao. Great location for Mae Haad, lovely stretch of beach and very attentive staff.

The only downside is that the rooms are a little "rustic". We actually liked it very much as it gave a real feel of Thailand's islands, but with a luxury feel, however if you're looking for a western style hotel then this might not be it.

Personally, I would definitely return!

This is Definitely not the place to stay at if you're scared of Gecko's . We checked into the hotel and everything seemed to be perfect ....they have a very nice sit of area in each cottage but you cannot lie there for more than 10 minutes as you will just be bitten . Way too many mosquito's and this was in the morning .
When we got back to the hotel in the night there was a huge Gecko in our room , we tried calling the hotel reception via our cell phone ( they do not have phones in the rooms ) to get rid of it however no one picked up.
Simply put I'm petrified of lizards/ gecko's and had never seen one so big . In the morning there was another huge Gecko in out bathroom ?? I could not stay there any longer and informed the hotel that we'd like to check out because of the gecko's and then he even tried to offer me a room with supposedly no Gecko's ?? Is your room supposed to come with Gecko's that he offered me a choice??
We checked out and had to pay a certain amount for the next night as well as that is the hotel policy ....we just payed it and left .The hotel staff were very rude on checkout . Had i know about the gecko's would never have stayed there .
